Pieces of **** - Republicans in Congress - Hello? Donald?

McCain ran on repeal, voted for repeal when he knew it would get vetoed, and **** himself when it was for real.

Yup.
Of the Republicans who chickened out, by the next election McCain will be dead and Portman, Capito, and Alexander could get primaried.

This I can get down with. ******* exempt themselves from the **** insurance the require the peasants to have by law. Get on board with my struggle, *******.

Yep. Had a discussion with a guy I met yesterday at friend's birthday party. Talk turned to work, hard work, etc. I said at one point that politicians enter Congress poor, and leave rich. That is a serious, genuine issue.

He replied that somebody has to oversee the "machine." He also said that the idea politicians get rich off of politics is wrong, since Biden's net worth was "only" $300,000 (not including the $3 million house, of course).

I stated that his information about Biden is wrong. Dude owns a mansion on a lakefront, with a yard big enough to handle Obama's helicopter to announce the VP nomination. He said that Biden is that wealthy because his wife is a doctor, and I had to note that Biden's wife is a Ph.D. doctor and a school teacher.

So Biden is the example of a hardworking pol who has foregone monetary wealth to serve the people? What the ... ??

He owns a $3 million lakefront mansion, has a guaranteed retirement income well in excess of six figures for the rest of his life, and is basically the poorest politician in Congress?!? The dumbest, least wealthy politician is worth millions, has a guaranteed salary for life that puts him in the 1%, and is supposedly an example of how politicians are looking after the people, and not their own interests? What the ... ?

And we think politicians are there to "serve man"? Yeah, like this guy:

As to "running the machine," I said that Congress should be focused on implementing the rules and regulations fairly, and overseeing these laws. They are basically the umpires for our nation.

I also said I would wonder what the **** was going on where the umpires were the millionaires, and the players (us lowlife private citizens in the analogy) earned much less.

So eff politicians. Make all of those ******* live by Federal anti-discrimination laws, wage & hour laws, wrongful termination laws, etc.* like the rest of us plebes.

* Congress is immune from basically all employment legislation based on "separation of powers," as the claim is that Congress would fear the Executive branch misusing its prosecutorial power to go after Congress. Huzzah, we make ourselves immune!!

President Donald J. Trump might use Executive Order to improve healthcare.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senator Rand Paul said he spoke to President Donald Trump by phone about healthcare reform on Monday and told the president he thought Trump had the authority to create associations that would allow organizations to offer group health insurance plans.

Paul, a Republican, told reporters that Trump was considering taking some form of executive action to address problems with the healthcare system after the Senate failed last week to pass a measure to reform the system.

Allowing groups like AARP, which represents retirees, to form health associations could enable individuals and small businesses to form larger groups to negotiate with health insurance companies for lower rates.

Trump targets Congress members' own health plans after ObamaCare repeal falls flat

President Trump, hoping to prod reluctant lawmakers to once again try for an ObamaCare overhaul deal, has zeroed in on a benefit that could serve as a powerful piece of leverage for the negotiator-in-chief.

The president's ultimatum to Congress: Figure out a way forward on health care, or lose a valuable insurance carve-out for you and your staff. The benefit allows part of their ObamaCare premium costs to be covered by taxpayers.

“The president will not accept those who said it is, quote, time to move on,” White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway said on "Fox News Sunday."

The president has twice threatened to target the benefit in the wake of Senate Republicans failing to pass their so-called ‘skinny repeal’ health care plan on Friday.

“If ObamaCare is hurting people, & it is, why shouldn’t it hurt the insurance companies & why should Congress not be paying what public pays?” Trump tweeted on Monday. Over the weekend, Trump similarly warned he would "end" the "BAILOUTS" for members of Congress if they don't pass a health bill soon.

If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 29, 2017
The president issued the warning both to the insurance industry (referring to controversial payments that could be in jeopardy) and to Congress. But his threat to end the benefit for the latter, the subject of a long-running Washington battle, could grab lawmakers' attention -- considering allies say he has the authority to follow through.

“I think the president would be absolutely within his rights to cancel the Obama rule that conferred this subsidy on Congress,” Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., said.

The carve-out itself dates back to 2013.

Under the Obama administration, the Office of Personnel Management decided to grant what is often described as an exemption under the Affordable Care Act allowing lawmakers and their staff to keep getting a government subsidy for health care.

This required a special OPM decision to categorize Congress as a small business, allowing lawmakers and their aides to get government payments as an employer contribution through the exchange. Absent that, they would have been directed onto the individual exchange which prohibits an employer contribution.

The decision has drawn criticism from Republicans for years.

He needs to do this today. Not threaten to do it if they don't start working on a new bill, just do it now. Then watch them scamper and scurry around like the rats they are.

I would disallow ALL Obamacare exemptions. Everyone should experience the beauty of this law equally.

In D.C. Congressmen make too much money to qualify for any ACA subsidies.

Ill let Rush take it from here:

See, the original Obamacare law would not allow them to do that because they were in D.C. Well, if they couldn’t do that, they couldn’t qualify for subsidies. So they started bellyaching, “We can’t afford it, we can’t afford it.” So Obama rode to the rescue and funneled money through the Office of Personnel Management that got them on this SHOP program, Small Business Health Options Program, and that’s how they got covered, and that’s how they ended up being subsidized 73% on their premiums and copays.

“Both federal and D.C. law expressly prohibited any employer with more than 50 employees from participating D.C.’s SHOP Exchange.” Well, how can members of Congress be on it? Because the federal government certainly employs more than 50 people. Well, the Office of Personnel Management had to change the rules. And the Forbes article argues that what they did was that illegal but that everybody ignored it. That’s why Trump can easily do away with it if he chooses to.

In other words Obama cheated again.
