Playoffs *******!

If dallas pulls this off we have a good shot at the 3 seed... we cant get a 2 seed with the NE win this week.... IIRC. the Denver cinci game is only important since it likely determines whether the 1 seed is still up for grabs and whether cinci has the inside track to the final playoff spot if they lose to us... the ravens still have a shot and san diego is likely the final wildcard now.

If that is the case then that 3 seed means we face a division rival in the first round, maybe a fading Cinci team... and likely the Manning run Denver Broncos in the second, which I like better than a san diego team that is having a good passing year and the Pats, which we always struggle with for whatever reason...

Bitterness? I'd say if every person on here who was called a ballchinian, nut hugger, etc. etc. gave the "Jan Brady's" (Tomlin, Tomlin, Tomlin) a helping of the **** that was served, that's not bitterness, that's turnabout and it's fair play.

Btw, there are still things that Tomlin needs to correct, clock management being one of them, but the arrow is pointing up for him.

I'm shocked and elated at the same time. Noway on God's green earth would I have thought this possible. The defense was playing soft again but they are playing a lot sounder fundamentally and coming up with plays when they need them. The offense continues to be productive and hopefully they are saving the best for last. I won't mind a playoff run, just have to grow some fingernails and stock up on beer for my crow eating.
 
Elated for the win and the playoff qualification...we are back in the running...

But we have holes.....and i hope we give serious consideration towards addressing those holes either via draft or FA....we need a pass rusher...we CANT expect Silverback to even come back next season nor him to be able to sustain that level of play.....

Still rebuilding esp on defense but if those two consecutive 8-8 seasons were the bottom for this team, ill take it.......ill take it grinning
 
We take a CB in the first round... then another Db in the 2nd... maybe the third too. You want a pass rusher at lb? ... develop Howard jones and quit treating late draft and undrafted defensive players like they cant cut it until they absolutely force themselves on the team... jones is a natural pass rusher. we need that.

**** that. Bring it on. To be the best you got to beat the best. One of the heart attack moments of my life was that certain game where no one gave us a chance against Manning on our way to the Bowl. Congrats Steelers,who would have thought it possible in the first 1/3 of season.

The key game is the SD/KC matchup. I'm rooting for KC, because it looks like in that case, win or lose, the Steelers will avoid the Ravens...and most likely play the Bengals again in round one.

EDIT: The above statement is dependent on Denver winning tomorrow.

Changed my mind on what I want to happen... I want Denver to win this week. I want San diego to win next week. I want buffalo to beat NE and us to win next week vx cinci...


That eliminates both the Ratbirds and bungals regardless of whether the rats win or lose next week. Plus I don't fear Buffalo in the postseason

He played wide receiver in college..our WRs are the games best right now....defensively, we are rebuilding.....but we did hold Jamaal to 29 yrds rushing....and KC without a TD.

If hes below the line, then so are 20 other coaches.......

At least youre consistent with your "anti"....

Our defense is bad, but have you seen every other defense in the NFL's? Most of it is just as bad....just the way the NFL is...it's about TO's...we need to start generating more. .
 
I don't care if the Hc is a full blown retrad... its not as important a position as it is made out to be... the OC and Dc are both far more important in a well run org. they HC should just be putting the staff together and oking the gameplans and tough calls on both plays and roster spots. We may give the HC too much credit and blame as fans and probably as an org too much say.

Great game today! The D played well - keeping the Chiefs to no big plays and field goals. The O did what they had to against a good D. I would always like to see them score 30 plus because I think they are capable of it against any D but I will take it today. They had the long drive in the second half for a score that was the deciding drive. Debo was a man possessed today. I hope he keeps that up and the rest of the D feeds off of him. It will be a tremendous boost heading into the playoffs.

I also don't let Ike sniff the field when he comes back in anything other than a breather role.

I have had my disagreements with Vader over the last 15 years here, but he is one of the least homer posters here, he has no favorites when it comes to players or coaches.

Nuthuggers and anti-Tomlin guys aren't going to change their overall opinions after one game, but can't we all just enjoy a playoff-clinching win without hurtling personal attacks at each other? Damn.
 
A sweet feeling indeed. I was in all places, Walmart. This good looking (very nice) lady came up to me and said great game today. I was wearing my Loyd jersey. We talked about an hour. She had on a steeler wrist watch, no other give away. AWESOME win indeed !!!!! More to follow.
