Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

Tomlin and company had a 1st round grade on him. He was a steal in the 3rd round.

You saw what they did to their lastest 1st round pick of a QB.....

It is possible that Tomlin and company have zero idea how to grade out a QB. I am just speculating of course.
That could be. There's something to be said about the scouting for this team also. This team has consistently had bad drafts since 2015 (2017 being the exception). Seems like there needs to be a complete overhaul of the whole department.

There was. Colbert is out and most of the scouting staff changed, if not all

They might suck at evaluating QBs but honestly most of the league sucks at evaluating QBs.

That's the new standard here. Be as good as the status quo of the league.

We apparently have one of the smallest scouting departments in the league.

Not to absolve Tomlin completely but Tannehill did only throw for 72 and 88 yards in those games. 45 of those yards was on one play against the Ravens. I would say those wins were more on the back of Henry then Tannehill.

Nick Foles is an anomaly in this equation. He was fortunate not to see his first action that season til week 15. If I'm not mistaken he only played one quarter of wk 16. IMO defenses at that time hadn't seen him enough to make adjustments needed to stop the run he would eventually go on. I would say if he had played at least 1/2 the regular season we wouldn't know Foles for being anything other than a QB with an abysmal record as a starter. When teams had enough tape on him his career pretty much ended. Timing meant everything in that championship run.

As for O'Donnell and Kordell I got nothing for ya other than this...dare I say both were better QBs then the Steelers have had as a starter since end of 2018 season. That would include washed up Ben 2019 and beyond. Who would argue??
Washed up Ben threw for 55 TD's, 7500+ yards and completed 65% of his passes in the two seasons after his elbow surgery, Kordell and Neil weren't better than that version of Ben.

Yes, smallest and cheapest. It's the Rooney way. For years it was being said the the Steelers didn't send any scouts to cover players west of the Mississippi. I haven't found if there was any truth to that. It wouldn't shock me.

Back to the original topic, Rodgers, he says he's dealing with personal stuff, which is why he hasn't signed. Then why is he doing a 3 hour show with Rogan, then he's at the Kentucky Derby, then he's at some concert in Texas.

Like everything else on this team in the last 10 years: offensive philosophy, free agency, personnel, Tomlin has gained more control, just ask him or google his arrogant quotes about it

But yeah we’re all autistic freaks for pointing that out right?

Why don’t you lay the blame on the head it belongs on? Bet you won’t

That was the case before Tomlin as well, and we seemed to do just fine.

It’s not the quantity, but the quality that matters.

Current owner hasn’t a clue and relies on the Tomlin.

Dan Rooney made the calls needed, also gave authority in the proper order so as everyone was accountable…………… GM / HC. On down

Salute the nation

The drafts have mostly sucked, the last handful of Colbert years, and I'm afraid to say Khan is not really shining in his 1st 3 years. OH, OK, sure, we can argue over Khan's drafts not having time yet to prove fruition, but they aren't looking all that productive.

2023

Jones - after spending his 1st 3 years not playing in his natural position (thanks Clown-lin) we get to see if his 3rd year produces a good LT or not. It better damn well produce a pro bowl level player. We certainly drafted him high enough. (moved up a few spots to draft him at 14). Asking for production in his 3rd year is not asking for too much. After years of suffering from one of the worst-rated LTs in Moore, it is time NOW.

Joey Porter - A super high 2nd round pick has shown flashes, but he needs to get less flags thrown his way. He could turn out, but the time is NOW.

Benton - Will improve from Nose if allowed. More of a 3-4 end, if Clown-lin can figure out what that even is.

Mount Washington - Lets see some catches his way.

Herbig - some production, lets see.

Trice - finally healthy, lets see production now.

It's mostly Tomlin. Yeah Rooney allows him to much power, but Khan was just a numbers guru before being promoted, how much experience with players did he really have? Who was conducting the GM interviews? Oh yeah Tomlin, he just hired another yes man. Art needs to grow a set and just fire him. Dan didn't really get that involved in the day to day things, he let the coaches and GM's do their thing, but he hired the right people, and fired them when time was right, like Donahue when he and Cowher didn't see eye to eye. Tomlin is so full of himself and is a control freak and controls every aspect of the football side of things.

While I agree that it's 80% the current HC, it is past time that the next Dan takes the helm.

Sounds like some pretty good personal stuff
