Melvin Ingram III made it clear that he was unhappy with his playing time as a Pittsburgh Steeler and has received his wish to leave the team prior to today’s trade deadline. Ingram III is reportedly being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 6th round draft pick.

Ingram III contributed just 10 tackles and had one sack this year while recently battling a groin injury.

We're going to miss that depth, that's for sure. We have nothing after Highsmith and Watt.

A 6th huh. Not so great of a return to deplete depth.Maybe they like them some Taco. This is Tuesday afterall.

Unless we plan to use that 6th to bring in a piece we need later today, this was a waste. I would have kept him. Rotating him with Watt and Highsmith was a good thing. Ingram actually probably was better than Highsmith but Highsmith needs the reps as he is more than likely the future opposite Watt.

Taco played as many snaps as Ingram has been lately. No stats, but Schobert says there was no drop off from "anyone else we would have had in there in those situations". (A shot at Ingram?)

Lol fat predator...

Yeah, I agree. Why would you trade him to a team that we're going to be playing/battling for playoff spot.
James Harrison is why they made the trade. And the fact that more than likely K.C. was the only team that wanted him. Get rid of a malcontent who is openly telling reporters he's better than your starter, and who is not the future at the position. Better to get something than have him pull a Deebo and end up getting nothing.

Horrible. Meanwhile Denver gets a 2nd and 3rd 2022 pick for an aging and declining Von Miller.

This made no sense

Kevin Colbert isnt a trader… nfl gms are dumb…

Literally just give the chiefs a player they need

This is awful, unless there’s some sort of clause that makes it a 4th rounder if Ingram gets like 8 sacks or something.

Ingram Would leave next year so I understand wanting to trade him, but you have to get something for him. A 6th rounder is nothing. And to make it worse, you traded him to a top AFC competitor who is struggling. The Chiefs could use another receiver. Maybe send them Washington for a 7th and a rack of baby backs.

Ingram sat on the market for awhile initially. Perhaps teams just don't see much value left.

maybe so before the year, but he showed himself to be effective for the Steelers. This was not a normal offseason. Because of Covid, the cap did not increase as usual so many teams had no cap space. That’s why you saw so many players opt to sign 1 year deals. Basically, many players decided to find a good situation rather than a good contract.

I was hoping for a better return too but as others have said, the man did not want to be here. You can’t keep a guy around who could disturb the chemistry especially with so many young players, Hopefully Taco Bell will provide good enough depth.

The Rams would have been better off getting Ingram for a 6th rather than Miller at the high price. They already have a talented defense. They didn’t need a stud. They could have gotten similar production from Ingram as a pass rush specialist.

LA also gets a much more expensive contract that they‘ve already said they want to “extend”. Which means it’s too expensive for their liking. Ingram only cost a little over $1 mil in cap space. There is talk that Philly is looking to unload Hargrave. That would be a interesting find.

I hear this but I don’t understand it. Ingram has no locker room presence. He’s not AB who was there for years and had lots of friends and locker room clout. Ingram was brought in the be a 1 year depth player. Let him pout. Who cares? Is he going to tank his own free agent value for next year?

I would have sat him down and said we’re not trading you. you either produce and get a good contract next year, or you half *** it and get a low contract again next year.

If Ingram really does have a nagging injury that means he’ll be struggling all year, then this trade is good but if Ingram is healthy or if he was just milking an injury to force a trade then this is a bad deal for the Steelers.
