Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

Does anyone believe that Rodgers is coming to Pittsburgh and playing with handcuffs on? With his giant ego, was he too afraid to ask about his role in both input and execution? He's been talking with Tomlin weekly and also regularly with Smith - I can't see them being on two different pages on this..
I remember the exact same thing being said about Russ last season and I bought into it. Go figure.

Ryan Clark talks a lot because that is his job now. He is just filling airspace.
That is some of it. He has been exhibiting some racial tendencies mixed in.

I’ve noticed that too.

He is a “click” type reporter.

All big and puffy, but knows as little as the next guy. (Provided that “next guy” isn’t you or I )

I don’t call scoring 42 points and still losing “******** the bed”.

You can’t actually expect a vaunted Tomlin defense to hold an opponent under 40, I’m thinking you’re setting the bar a bit high for the greatest coach ever.

If the offense could just score 50 a game I’m sure he’d be more competent and competitive.

No one said the title is not Tomlin's, that was in reference to Ryan Clark saying Tomlin came in here and immediately changed the culture. It was a winning culture already, the fact that once the guys he inherited and coaches he inherited started leaving, the team started going south, that proves the exact opposite. Since those guys left and Tomlin was tasked with rebuilding the roster and we've won 3 playoff games since 2010 again proves he's not a great coach. Same thing with Barry Switzer, took over a great roster, with a winning culture, he won, those players aged out and he couldn't do anything on his own, exactly what's going on with Tomlin.
It's been his roster, his culture, his coaches for a long, long time and we've seen a historically bad playoff drought.

BINGO! Game,set&match!

This is really all that needs to be said on the subject.

I really hope they limit his reps even at training camp. I'm just hoping this offensive line can keep him upright. The AFC North is a brutal Division. I don't know if he can hold up.

Tomlin was the coach when they won in 2008, and there is no guarantee Cowher would have. We KNOW Tomlin did. That is where it should end...
SteveA approves of this message...

I watched AR last year from the "hater" point of view...He was with an AFC rival who was projected to be good, & possible sttod in our way of a Wild Card...When I watched him I wanted him to get crushed...I rooted against him...

He was scary enuff for me to want him to fail...

The only upside I see to him announcing this is his last year is that maybe he and Tomlick talked and are going out together. One can dream.

Are you wet ??????…………………….. :)

That’s a hella dream you got going there…………….

And if that is the way it was said, who can argue with it? Tomlin hasn't built anything, and the record proves it.

I have just gotten so sick of the argument that usually accompanies that, which is he won the SB with a Cowher team. I don't give a shiit. He was the coach when they won. He deserves the credit without any caveats.

I jumped the gun on that. Coryea made no such argument and I didn't have context. My mistake.

how many did the offense spot the defense? It was a team shitshow.
Ben was strip sacked from his blind side for a TD
Then there was a pick that put the Jags just outside FG range. Next play Fortnette went like 42 yards for a TD. So the offense spotted them 7.

Don't forget George Seifert. Also inherited an incredible team, although of all 3 Seifert deserves the most credit for self accomplishment considering the salary cap was implemented in 1992 and it was new to everyone.

Don’t forget that the “expanded” playoff qualifying has been Coach Tomlin’s best friend, something the Bill and the Chuck never had.
Don't forget the total number of teams in the league also expanded in 1995 and 2002 without a change in playoff numbers. Most of Cowher's time it was 12 of 28 and 12 of 30, and the expanded playoffs have only been in place for 5 years of Tomlin's 18 years, so overall Tomlin has probably had lesser probability of making the playoffs than Cowher.

Whilst defence sucked, Ben didn't exactly help matters by throwing an interception on his own 18 yard line at 0-7 (after going 3 and out on the Steelers first drive), and fumbling for a Jacksonville touchdown at 7-21. In hindsight though, how much that first interception is on Ben and how much on the predictable, ultra-conservative offence the Steelers start games with is the question.

The pick was on the 18 yard line. The touchdown run was only 18 yards.

I think Coach Tomlin’s last three PO appearances were 7th seed.

I have hope that regardless of how they are seeded for this year’s PO game, they do something.

Blow-outs are never fun to watch or end a season with.

Tomlin has also made it twice as the 7th seed since the playoffs expanded in 2020.

Thanks for correcting me, but your defense is allowed to make a stop correct? So I'm putting 10 points on the offense, fumble return for a TD and setting up the Jags in FG territory, so the defense still allowed Blake Bortles and the Jags offense to score 35 points.
If you were told before the game that Ben would have 469 yards, 5 TD's, 1 INT, and only 2 sacks, and the offense would score 42 points every single Steeler fan would've signed up for that.
