Steelers 1st & 2nd round options by TMC

I have a surprise 1st round pick for us...mark it down...Noah Spence. Harrison has 1 yr left and Jones isn't the answer. Watch us draft Spence in rd 1.

Seems the only people who think Apple is not a 1st rounder are a few on here. Most "experts" easily have him in the first round. Some have him going in the top half of the 1st round.

That's why I think we won't get him, he'll be off the board by 25.

I think Billings is great, but just don't think he would be on the field enough for us to make him our first rounder. We could trade back and still maybe nab Spence, or Mackenzie Alexander.

the post on the first page was similar to what TMC used to do for us.
he'd actually break down every single player (I believe at the combine) and provide pros/cons on each.
then, he'd post his picks for us.

obviously he'd miss on some picks, but he'd still - every year - put the same content out there for us to use. imagine the enormous amount of time it took to review film, read about, etc on all these players. then imagine some ******* telling you that you don't know what you're talking about and follow you to every single thread, asking about that same player in response to every post you made year after year, month after month, day after day, post after post. he got tired of it, off the board real life interrupted and he said **** it.

some of us are friends with him on FB, so we keep in touch with him. he's a good, humble guy, but years of being stalked got to him.

Yep, I'm friends with him on FB. He put a ton of work into his reviews of the players, hell there are guys that are making piles of cash for NFL teams that get in right far less than he did, not sure what the need to call him out when he was wrong. He never beat his chest when he was right, and rubbed it in anyones face. I think some people can't handle the thought that someone might know a little more than they do.

the Steelers taking an OLB in round one would not be a surprise....taking a CB would be....

We desperately do need cb help though. I'd be all for trading down with Denver (get their third rounder), draft Spence, then take a corner in rd 2. Hell, we could trade back up in rd 2, if a corner we like falls...like Alexander.

yep - and he'd acknowledge when he was wrong. hell, sometimes even beat himself up over it. dave ragone is a good example. he thought ragone would fit what we do very well. then it turns out ragone couldnt do much very well in the nfl. tmc admitted he was wrong... and the jackasses would still berate him over it.

like I said a few posts ago, this is what they will likely do, but they SHOULD shock the world and go CB in round 1....hell round two also or S in round two...as long as they are BPA

3. Safety

You may be right...that's why I think he could a trade down with Denver candidate, or BPA at 1.25. Guys like Burns, Howard, and Fuller could be there in rd 2 for us. No rookie cb would start for us in year 1, so they can sit behind Cockrell for a year.

IMO Spence is more likely to be around in Round 2 that the top CBs.

WJIII would start immediately and set ever DB record in the books......I like Cockrell, but don't think he will automatically start ahead of a 1st round CB

so pass on a better CB in round 1 (if he is available) and take a lesser guy in round 2? only way that makes sense is if someone obviously better at a different position is available I would like WJIII but if he is not BPA at 1:25 the Steelers should draft BPA or if good value can be returned, trade back. But I just don't see them trading back, especially if it is out of Round 1..

I wouldn't be shocked to see two corners in this draft selected. Possibly even the range of 1-4.

We won't take a DL that high. It's not in our wheel house. And for those talking about Spence..... he's already failed 2 drug tests that forced him to transfer from Ohio state to eastern Kentucky. We will not pick spence. We already have enough problems on this team with drugs. Second with drug issues we will not take him that high

the love affair in Rd 1 for LBs didn't start with Tomlin. WJIII may not be there when the Steelers pick, if he is and he is BPA he should be selected if DL is BPA they should be selected...

I think if WJIII and Apple are gone we will take Spence. I think we like the Clemson cb, but he may fall to early rd 2. Big drop off after Spence, although Calhoun is pretty damn solid. I think the FO will have Spence rated higher than Alexander. That's why I advocate trading down with Denver and taking either the best cb available or Spence.

Spence has been tested a ton at Eastern Kentucky and failed 0 tests. He partied with Ecstasy, and no longer hangs with that crowd. He wasn't an addict.

We are in sub package football so much that a guy that will be on the field 30% of the time cannot be taken in rd 1, just my opinion.
