Now that young star quarterback Deshaun Watson will not be brought up on legal charges, the buzz surrounding his impending trade is the hot topic of the NFL. Many analysts are speculating where he is going to land. One of the most controversial landing spots is none other than the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is a lot of back and forth. Some analysts are saying this is where Watson wants to go, others are saying the team has no plans on pursuing.

Regardless of this, Action Network has the Steelers as the team with the second best odds to land Watson:

Odds to be Deshaun Watson's next team @MaximBetUSA:

+300: Bucs
+350: Steelers
+900: Saints, Vikings
+1000: Texans, Panthers
+1200: Seahawks
+1400: Dolphins, Raiders
+2000: Lions pic.twitter.com/UKMbWgmNcK

Watson would surely cost a pretty penny in return. Pittsburgh definitely can not offer the Houston Texans what some other teams can. However, if this is where Watson wants to go, he ultimately has the final say. He has a no trade clause that only he can wave.

It’s no secret at this point that Watson has wanted to play for Brian Flores who is now the Senior Defensive Assistant for Pittsburgh. Although he may not be there for long, the connection is there. This could be why Action Network has Pittsburgh with the second highest odds to land Watson.

If Watson landed in Pittsburgh, he would have a pretty decent set up. A top defense, and some solid weapons to say the least. He would have Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, and potentially Chase Claypool (unless he were part of the package) to throw to, and Najee Harris toting the ball. Not a bad setup by any means.

There may be other suitors, but it’s hard to argue that Pittsburgh isn’t a good place for Watson to end up. They have the pieces to win now, and the competition is at an all time high not just in the AFC North, but the entire AFC. Time will tell where Watson ends up, but it sure would be sweet to see him in the black and gold for years to come.

Do you want Watson in the black and gold? Let us know why or why not in the comment section below!

Again this is all agent and reporter driven nonsense… if you want the skeevy ******* offer a second this season and to renegotiate his contract to take some of the cap hit off of them or tell them to pound salt… maybe up the offer to a first if they take the full 51 million dollar dead money cap hit for displacing him from the roster… thats it… he is damaged goods that will cost the team in merchandise and ticket sales

I don't care what anyone is saying other than DeShaun and the FO. IF, by some miracle, we did land him, Watson (once the rust get shook off) would be the best QB in the AFCN.

We dealt w/ Ben's drama so we've got tough skin. Watson is the QB our offense needs to be prolific again. Don't forget Ray Ray played w/ him too at Clemson.

It really does make a lot of sense.

I'm gonna sip on some Tito's and wish it happens...

What Bermuda said!

don't understand how when all reports are the Steelers are not interested
I doubt the Steelers have even responded to anyone asking if they were interested. Which makes all the reports, "yay" or "nay", bullshit. No matter who they came from.

I just can't see how this has even a miniscule chance of happening, let alone the 2nd best odds.

I love this place and the way most have their heads on straight when it comes to these ridiculous "rumors".

No. Rog is going to wait until someone signs him, then suspend him for half a season or a whole season.
No point suspending him when he's out of work anyway. His current employer obviously wants him gone.
We have too many other needs, OL and DL, to trade away a bunch of high draft picks on one guy.

Depends on who signs him, if robert hand job kraft's team signs him it's time served for missing last season but if it's the STEELERS........ 16 game and not PO elgible till '23 season.

Salute the nation

Plus James Harrison will get a $10,000 fine.

Not sure what the fan base split would be in Watson coming to Pittsburgh, 50/50?
Would this drop us straight back into CAP hell and hinder building and retaining other key players.

Seattle has way more to offer the Texans than any other team. Don’t see him coming to Pitt. And yes, if he does, Goodell suspends him for the year…

If the Steelers FB groups are any indication, basically the black fans are all in favor of trading whatever it takes to get Watson and the white fans are are saying we have a lot more needs besides QB and it doesn't make sense to trade several draft picks on someone who is going to be suspended for at least half a season anyway.
They are not going to trade for Watson or any other vet QB.
They will draft or sign a vet FA to be the third QB.
Rudolph will be the starter, barring injury or Tom Brady suddenly unretiring and wanting to play for the Steelers. That's always been the plan.

I put 1:1 odds that all of these stories are baseless speculation anyhow
Most sure. Because plenty of teams are home working. It doesn't mean they want every subject on their paper.

The Steelers even interview for example players that are borderline questionable in regards to if they will take them off their draft board. So they look interested but they could have just taken them off in the process.

It’s all speculation at this point and don’t think anyone really knows what teams are “really” interested and what the Texans are really asking for him. I personally would welcome him with open arms if the price was right. A first this year and next seems about the max I would be willing and could see the Steelers offering. If they were willing to give up the same thing to draft Bush I think I would give up that much to get a QB like Watson. Financially we could make it work as well but would take a full restructure as soon as he came on board. He’s an elite QB and before the legal issues was one of the best in the league. Franchise QB’s also don’t grow off trees and especially one that still has a lot of football left to played.

Be wary of over-generalizing things along the racial lines that you might see on Facebook. The Black fans on FB don't speak for me in this regard. And, as you see from some of the White posters on this board who want Watson, the White FB posters don't speak for all the White fans.
As for what they're going to do at QB (other than Watson), I've heard so many rumors that it makes me wonder if the Steelers are even sure what they're going to do. lol

Bottom line , Watson can pick the team he wants to go to. If he is smart , pick the team you like best and make sure your new team doesn't get robbed during the trade. Now you know why players want no trade clauses in there contracts. If he is a Steeler , I will give him a chance. he is still innocent until proven guilty. I live about 25 minutes from where he went to college. We have friends of have kids that have been around him for years. Zero rumors or bad reports during his college career. Also had a friend's son who was a trainer during his time at Clemson. He donated some signed items through him for a mission trip auction. Maybe money and fame turned him into a jerk, who knows. But the only thing he is guilty of so far is poor choices. Thank God none of my poor choices are made public.

Maaan, the things that we did in H.S./College that would be considered worthy of burning at the stake nowadays. smh ... I think a majority of folks are glad their poor choices aren't made public.

in the span of 5 minutes looking around their are reports that the Browns are trading multiple 1st rounders and Mayfield for Watson, The panthers are set to trade 3 1st round draft pick for him, and Tampa is the leader in the Watson sweepstakes.

who the **** knows

Read this timeline of the events and the lawsuits. Pretty good read.

Some interesting stuff in that article. Counter-allegations/responses by Watson's lawyers are pretty damning if they can prove them.

"According to the seven-page response, eight plaintiffs “bragged about, praised and were excited about massaging” Watson; seven “willingly worked or offered to work” with him again; three “lied about the number of sessions” they had with him in their original complaints; three “lied about their alleged trauma and resulting harm;” five “told others they wanted to get money” from Watson and five have “scrubbed or entirely deleted” social media accounts they used to promote their businesses."

Also interesting to note that family, friends, and co-workers have allegedly given statements to Watson's attorneys disputing some claims and identifying others as money grabs. Surprised to learn that the FBI investigation isn't limited to Watson, but includes whether there was any extortion going on by some of the plaintiffs.

Without saying it, the Athletic article makes it seem like there was a little paid for "rub and tug" between Watson and most, if not all of the massage therapists in question.

And that cell phone cameras didn't exist 30 or 40 years ago.
I've concluded that the Steeler fan base is going to lose their collective **** no matter who the QB is, so I'm not going to worry about it.
Anybody wants my opinion, I'm going to say Rudolph. Doesn't mean I think he's the best choice but knowing the way the team does business I think that's who it's most likely to be.
