Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

Why? Because Dri Archer is on this team at the moment. Nothing any of us can do about it. So instead of being miserable over it, hope the guy can be something. If he is, great for the Steelers and we fans. If not, the circle jerks just are not miserable before they have be.

It is what I will never get. I know it is a message board and all that, I get that part. But after the initial displeasure, which I support 100% (I didn't like the pick), what good does it do to keep grinding on it? Might as well support the guy, for **** sake. He isn't going anywhere. Besides, if those who dislike the guy are right, in the long run, so what? Won't do us or the Steelers any damn good. The desire to be viewed as a "guru" trumps all that. That's what you have to understand about all this. The ability for the next 10 years to keep bringing up just how right you were all along is a very powerful hammer to wield in some people's minds. It isn't real hard to figure out who those folks are. All you have to do sit back and read awhile. Most people are content to do the "let's wait and see thing", whether you like a pick or dislike it, but you can't do that if you have a desire to go on record and go for "guru" status.

See this is the **** the circle jerk click does. Concludes that everybody should basically shut up except them. This is so vague I'm not even sure how to evaluate it. So if he catches ONE TD that "propels" us into the playoffs it was a good pick? How could you tell it was the TD that did that? Or are you saying if he did it a few times? It's hard to tell because the first part of the sentence is singular "returns a kick/ punt" and the last part of the sentence is plural "a few times".

Players catch Tds all the time in the NFL that turn into busts. Rainey was a 5th round pick and had 2 Tds. Players bust all the time that have caught or run for Tds.

When this board re-opened, he came back and stopped posting over there. In this very thread alone, he told me he was Googling my screen name to "stalk" me on other boards (his words, not mine). When I called him out on this, he denied that it happened. When I provided proof via his own words, he immediately shut up and went back to saying "spreadsheet."

If he turns out to be somewhat servicable then what is to stop the Steelers from thinking 2 years from now why don't we try this pocket rocket from Wyoming Tech? I personally don't need that validation to feel important or have the desire to be seen as a draft guru. It's not even something that has crossed my mind to care about. It probably says something to constantly need that reassurance. ESPN will never be calling me to hear my take on the upcoming draft...or anyone else on this website for that matter.

TMC never once got under my skin in 15 years assessing picks and giving his opinions. Then again TMC didn't ooze arrogance, he was just matter-of-fact and you know what else? He was smarter than the rest of the SN draft "experts" by a mile and he ******* admitted every time he was wrong on a guy....because he was secure enough in his knowledge to do it. I read that Timmons lost weight this off-season to gain back his speed. I think he ran a 4.6 at the combine but I read he had ran in the 4.5's before. Imagine having shazier 4.37 and Timmons 4.6 in the middle chasing down backs and QB's. I'm excited about this defense.

Just read I think one of the twitters or steelers depot that archer was not running at full speed when Timmons could not catch him. Just saw something today where he ran by the first team defense for 40 yards. I was initially thinking this kid would be destroyed by the first contact seems like he is holding up so far. Looks like a good contribution to a game right there. A few big plays a game might be just what the team needs to get more points every game. 28 points a game or better will be needed to be a strong play off team now I think.
