Steelers VS Raiders #Immaculate game thread.

spot on. Tomlin aint goin anywhere. Just hope Art II will put his foot down and make sure Canada is not renewed for next season.
Canada signed a 3 year contract. His contract isn't up until after next season. Make of that what you will when it comes to Art ll and contracts.

makes you think that KP is told to throw it to a certain receiver on each play and if its not there, run it or throw it out of bounds. I dont think Canada/Shades give KP ANY leeway at all.

OR, KP just doesnt see him and that would be troubling if thats the case.
You must have missed the numerous times they showed and pointed out that KP was reading the field and, at times, hitting his 2nd or 3rd read.

well then I guess Kenny is doing just what he is supposed to. I didnt hear them saying that, but if he is, then we got more problems than we thought.

We have had a person post that he was at the game and saw mainly single coverage on Pickens and it appeared KP just didnt throw to him. Now if he is astute in reading the field and hitting his 2nd and 3rd receivers, why did he miss Pickens all those times--and we know he likes throwing to Pickens. But hey, if Kenny is actually going thru his progressions and making the right read, then I gladly stand corrected. But that would point out other deficiencies IMHO. But who knows?

no, I dont keep up with Canada's contract status. I was hoping that his contract was about to expire and we all know how the Steelers work. They just dont renew folks. So you are 100%right. If Canada is to be let go, he will have to be fired.

I was at the game. I will say Pickens for most of the game had one on one coverage. Had a step or two on the defender on numerous deep routes. Pickett just never threw him the ball at those times. Or even lookes hos way. Usually just dumped it off short right away. The coaches have to change this. I can understand why Pickens get upset. For his credit today I did see him moping at all. Paid off at the end. Glad to see he got the TD pass.

That's interesting. The Raiders CB was playing waaaaaay off, giving a 10-yard cushion every play, and Pickens was still getting by him? Wow.

Several times I thought Pickett was going to see the CB 10 yards off and just sling it immediately to Pickens. He has a sure 5 yards and if he breaks a tackle, a lot more. If the CB is forced to move up to defend those free yards, Pickens can blow past him.

Maybe he read it but he's told not to air it to Pickens

You forgot the most important 13.

13. The amount of points the Steelers scored in the Immaculate Reception game vs the Raiders thanks to Franco.
Wow, I wasn't aware of that. I'm sure I've seen it several times, but it didn't register as anything meaningful at the time other than the Steelers won the game. I was just shy of 3 years old when it actually happened.

A few other 13's I noticed in the stats, but didn't originally mention. Renfrow #13 had one punt return for 13 yards. Warren's longest run was 13 yards and Pickett was 26/39 passing: 39 attempts = 3x13, 26 completions = 2x13 and 13 incompletions 1x13. They couldn't have scripted it any better.

How about that for sorcery, Omar? Woogie-boogie!!!!!!!!!!!!! 13 exclamations LOL ;)

Or with it being about -450 degrees outside, deep balls were even lower percentage plays than typically already are, even with Pickens' ball skills.

"Chuck it and **** it" ball might not have been the best strategy last night, given those conditions were hardly conducive to even short passing.

Carr had more wild throws than he typically does as well.

Ultimately, Pickett overcame struggles and the conditions for much of the game to be pretty much perfect in the end when he needed to be.

I really think they might have something in him, but there needs to be a new scheme offensively if he is going to reach whatever potential he might have .

Between Pickett, Trubisky, Ben or Rudolph I find it hard to believe that ALL of them have/had a natural tendency as passers to avoid the middle of the field like the Steelers have been doing in the passing game the past two seasons. Ben sure as hell didn't have that problem for most of his career.

It's the offensive scheme, and it probably shouldn't be too shocking the Raiders left that TD to Pickens so open over the middle. The Steelers rarely attack that way in the redzone.

Watching at home and seeing Pickett dump it off all the time I though maybe the plays down field simply are not there. They are there. Pickett just needs to start throwing them. Pickens got behind the defense a handful of times. Especially in the second half when I started watching him more expecting them to throw one up to him.

I just checked Kenny had a 67 percent completion rating. Surprised me a little. I also found myself irritated at him during the game. Glad he bounced back.
67 percent is impressive in those conditions especially when you think he threw at least 5 balls away when he was running for his life. After last night, I think his "small hands" shouldn't cause anyone concern. Those were tough conditions.

THIS is Canaduh's third year but it's a matter of was he extended with the promotion to OC? If that is the case then yes, he has another year.

Very good points. I have to agree.

What I thought too. It felt like it was -9 degrees, with a 10 mph wind and snowing sideways so going 26-39 despite four throwaways is not bad. In fact, it's actually pretty good.

Kenny could throw over the middle as he showed on the last drive and definitely throw to the sidelines. Know who could not make certain throws? Derek Carr. Basically every throw to the sidelines looked like my daughter had made the throw.

Didn't really want to tarnish an Immaculate thread with S H I T Stains but this is kind of spooky..
This was from years ago. Photoshopped, I couldn't confirm. It looks like a photo off the TV set.

Illuminati confirmed.

It’s in the number 13

Dan Marino.
Marino rhymes with kachino. Which means like sicko or pervert in spanish.

Illuminati. Government. Pervert spooks messing with us all subconsciously.
