Steelers VS the rats game thread #ActionButNoJackson

The same thing that happens if the defense is able to prevent one of the Ravens three scores.
Avoiding the question that was asked is not an answer. It's an avoidance tactic.

Q. Is one of those things the coach? I think it's time to address that.
Coaching is definitely one of the things but I've lost all hope that it will ever be Tomlin.

I'd be happy if he replaced Canada and hired a competent OC to begin with. I'm not sure about the defensive side of the ball because I think we've made so many mistakes drafting it might not be fair to the defensive coaches.

Correct. Over half the league is a bad team. Where will we end up at the end of the season? Top 5 pick or middle of the pack?
Probably somewhere in-between.

And needing an overhaul and like usual not getting one.

We needed the highest paid defense at the end of the game to stop a team with a green 3rd QB running the show. We all knew they would run the ball. And if not let their QB throw it. They gashed us. It was horrible. This game we failed in every aspect of the game....but playing against a 3rd string QB......I think we deserved more from our D. You know the side of the team we were build to ride. The highest paid defense in the game. This defense is paid to stop a third string QB late in the fourth quarter to give our team a chance to win. They didn't. And we lost.

Fair enough. That said, you can't just discount the bonehead INTs thrown by our 6th year veteran QB, or the special teams gaffe missed FG. As I said, it was uncomplementary football played by all facets.

I want someone to check that missed FG. Why was no flag called for their Def coming overtop our snapper? I thought that it’s a flag

Isn't that if he uses the LS as leverage? Not overly sure myself..

So I didn’t get to see game but when NFL game day showed it, it looked as two defenders came overtop of him. Flag should have been called. I’ll see if I can find a clip
I remember the play just wasn't zeroing in on it. Just another painful element of the overall suck. 😉

We find out later that Keith Butler was just a figurehead as defensive coordinator. I’m starting to wonder if Tomlin still has his fingers all in that scheming and play-calling.

10. When they knew they could get Flores you give him the DC job over a proven failure.
They had already promoted Austin when they hired Flores and Shades wasn't going to go back on it.
Maybe after the season they give Austin his old job back and make Flores the DC, however that won't do much good as long as Shades keeps his nose in the Defense's business.

I'm 100% certain he does.

True. But when a better option is staring you in the face you go with the better option. I have this sneaky suspicion Flores would have shown better today

Shades scoffs at your notion of "better options". History shows that Shades 1) always promotes from within and 2) when he hires from outside he hires someone he knows.

Yeah but hopefully groundhog day ends soon. Please...

I didn’t see a penalty there. It was a hard tackle but maybe after escaping the first guy the refs considered him a runner. Still, I don’t see a penalty.
It wasn't necessary to sling him to the ground. He could have just as easily tackled him. He was overly aggressive there. So you are probably right they probably saw him as a runner.
