Steelers VS the rats game thread #ActionButNoJackson

Yes and I said run defense still has to get better, but it has been improved from last year. It has had some good games and some big stops. We are two players short of being really good against the run.
Held the Rats to less than 20 today.

3 official targets Coach Canada.....THREE

I would have to watch the tape, they probably are to scared of turnover(lol) to want to force it to him. But then they force it to DJ. Pickens still needs to refine his route running but he needs to be trusted more.

I am not absolving them entirely, they didn’t win the game. But they didn’t lose us this game. Even if we make that last stop there is no sure thing we score. We should have had a lead in this one. Probably a multi score lead, without changing anything the defense did.
They had a hand in it. Just because they weren't number 1 on the suck list they definitely contributed to the loss. Especially in the crunch moment of the game where good Ds make plays. Or **** get the hell of the field to allow the O a chance to win it. Just not good enough on a game to game basis to go where the team needs to go to be successful. Decision making on and off the field continues to plague this team. Let alone substandard coaching on every part of the team.

I feel like Mitch would have played better with some first team reps. Coming off the bench cold is tough.

I would take 16 points given up every ******* week. Like I said they could have won it but they didn’t lose it for us.

I get how you feel. But in the one aspect of D they failed miserably. Tomlin himself even alluded to not being able to stop the run as a contributing problem. They don't get a pass. At home against a third string QB they should be able to at least get a stop when the game is on the line. Still not the number 1 problem but a problem that still needs addressed and fixed.

Sims just took the blame for Trubisky’s first interception. He ran in front of the defender instead of behind him.

I agree to a point but how many opportunities should you have to have to score 3 points in the redzone. If we had won despite that it would have been a monumental win for the defense. Hell how comfortable are you that we would have been able to score if they do hold them?

True, but so did the Rats' 3rd string QB.

Are you really once again trying to defend the indefensible? Mitch sucked in the redzone, period.
As noted football sage John Madden once said, "If you want to win the game you have to score more points than the other team."

The guy literally threw 5 passes.

The point was that “the lack of first team reps” was one of the litany of excuses used for Kenny Pickett when he threw three picks against the Jets.

Look, I’m not in one camp or the other, and I hope Kenny pans out. It’s just that the excuse factory for Kenny Pickett gets ridiculous at times. I enjoy pointing it out.

Score a FG? Real comfy. Plenty of time to get into position to score one.

Far as those points left on the field that is the number 1 reason for the loss. Mitch was an experiment, simply a failed one.

Very curious why Worm and Alualu saw the field as much as they did being poor run stuffers.

This team for me just continues not to put their players in the best position to succeed. What is up with the rookie and Loudermilk they they were so high on?

It is constant bad decisions on and off the field nobody can convince me of anything different.

I don’t disagree on playing the young guys, I do disagree on being able to score after we failed to do so 4 times. Evidence today is against that. What makes you think we could have? What makes you think he doesn’t heave up a prayer for his 4th INT? Coaching should have called for runs when we got close after the first and for sure after the second INT. A FG would have been huge.
