Super Bowl LVII

Oh Sask. if that was Pickins and someone slowed him down an instant with a grab of jersey in that situation and it wasn’t called this site would be going full on mental. I can hear it now. How Goodall and the league have always hated the Steelers...blah....blah....blah. The game was lost because the Eagles D let the Chiefs score on every possession in the second half. And let them drive right down the field on the last possession.
cant really argue with this. but refs need to call to call things more consistently

That was a $hitty ending. It was perhaps Super $hitty, so maybe all is well.

But you also know if it were the Steelers on D in that situation, everyone here would be going bonkers saying it was a crap call. We all know that.

I was listening on radio. the annoucer said that on the slide, the runners foot went into the endzone therefore TD. I did not go back and rewatch but assumed he gave himself up before foot sliding into endzone. did tv announcers bring this up?
He gave himself up. He was down the second he started to slide, not where he ended up. Besides, his foot was in the EZ not the ball. The ball needs to cross

Of course, we would be the fans on the losing end. But it doesn't make it the wrong call. Just go back to XL and see the contrast. All the correct calls, all in our favor, Seahawks still crying about it... Doesn't make them bad calls...

And to anyone who is like well if you are gonna call it in the first half......it decided the game. And watch the missed calls brought up the next week. Like on the one replay overturn there was clearly and I mean clearly interference. It was bang bang.... but hey by the letter of the rulebook.

I'll be the first to admit ignorance here, on a hold like that, does it need to be cashable? If not, then it's the right call, but then that **** needs to be called a LOT more that way the rest of the year. Is that the rule?

Joe

Oh, btw, congrats Chiefs, great 2nd half comeback, eagles had this in hand at the half.

Because the refs decided the game with a ticky tack call on a play where there is no.physical way he makes. Instead of the game being decided on the field it was decided by the ref.
Ive seen JuJu do magical things. I think he gets there if not held.

Hell, you might be right and if "catchable" isn't part of the call I'm good with it, but, as I said that needs to be called that way all year long then.

I gotta ask... is this serious? I mean I cannot say that the contact didn't have an effect on the play. Maybe he re routed. I cannot say that. But there was no physical way he is getting to that ball where it was thrown. None.

I thought that call was weak as hell, but I’ve been drinking. I wouldn’t want to be the man that made that call.

$$$. It’s all $$$

And in a game where there were 9 penalties for 47 yards you are gonna be able to go back with an all 22 and say well that's a penalty that's a penalty. I don't think KC got a penalty that wasn't pre snap in nature which I think we all know is pretty ****** rare.

Hurts fumble is what cost the Eagles the game.......

It come down to the Mahomes experience vs Hurts inexperience.
Biggest difference was in halftime adjustments. KC out coached- Philly.

Exactly. If the Eagles' defense forced a punt even ONCE in that 2nd half, very good chance they're hoisting that trophy on the podium tonight. They just couldnt get it done against a legendary player when it counted. Came close, but this ain't fuggin horshoes

Coooough bullshit. No one here would.
Are you kidding me? Who do think is always chastising people in the game threads on this website for boo-hooing about the refs calls or lack thereof? Me!

Ok. You are the one. But watch tomorrow when the video starts coming out of the 7 or 8 similar plays by the Chiefs not called. Not one hold, not one hands to the face not one illegal contact, not one interference. Like that's ****** impossible.

Yep. And I think that the Eagles really screwed up by not at least taking a shot at the end zone right before halftime. They had an opportunity to go for a devastating blow with enough time for at least 2, maybe 3 plays, but conceded for a fg and only three points.
