Super Bowl LVII

I think philly lost the game when they didnt run it in 3rd&2, instead calling a pass play where hurts had to scramble to the left. You have that mammoth OL and 2 chances to get 2 yards, what the hell is there to think about?

Philly lost it failing to adjust to that man coverage which led to wide open receivers

I thought I heard that KC scored on every possession in the second half?

To filthy fans crying about the call. maybe that vaunted D could have made a stop when it counted?

Yep those two wide the hell open receivers wasn't putting that D in a good light. You have to be able to make adjustments on both sides of the ball when it matters most. One team couldn't one team could.

I know by the letter of the rules that was a penalty. Hell the guy who committed it knows he tugged his jersey. But in the context of the game with all that had to have been let go you just can't make that call and I've ref'd a hell of a lot of games. Yes the Eagles defense is responsible for the loss, but there is a minute left to tie or possibly win. It was a brutal call and a ****** end.
bro, just admit you're pissed because you reaaaaaally wanted to see KC go down on the biggest stage, and they didnt; THAT is really what your consternation is all about. I guaran-damn-tee that if it was reversed with philly driving, and the exact same hold being executed by a KC d-back on a philly receiver at that spot on the field, with that much time left, you'd have jumped off your couch screaming for that flag, and then when you finally see that yellow laundry, you'd have been all, "Yup! Aaayup!! Hey, that's a penalty, ref's gotta call it! Dont commit holding if you dont wanna be penalized, Chiefs!"

Great to see the Eagles lose, and congratulations to Andy Reid -- a head coach who can actually make meaningful halftime adjustments, and win in the playoffs.

That is KC's MO. I think that is 5 second half double digit comebacks in the playoffs now? Until some of these DC's get into the head of Reid and Bieniemy they won't win.

I mean every time you watch a KC game and they are only down 2 scores going in at the half you are thinking game over, KC wins.

It's just like the Belicheat/Brady years.

X and O's .You or your OC and DC better be good at it. Steelers are O for 3 or 1 for 3 depending on how fans view Austin.

Without the cameras and cheating. But yeah.

Ok. I spoke with my mentor coach in High School football and a guy who referees University Football. Full disclosure, I had about a breakfast from MacDonald's size bet on the Eagles, because I thought they were the better team. If I was going to pick which team I wanted to win probably Chiefs. All three of us are lock step. The Chiefs Offensive Line being able to pick up the 4 and 5 man pressures won the game. BUT no way no how in that circumstance in that situation, short of him jumping on Juju's back could you possibly make that call.. And if you watched the all 22 of that game you saw that tug at least 15 times minimum in the game.
It wasn't about the Eagles winning. It was about A DISSATISFYING ENDING.

If that was an issue, then the fumble that was reversed has to be an issue also.

If you thought that was a catch, you might want to go back and watch DJ's catch fumble late in the season that was initially ruled a fumble but overturned.

I had a prop bet on the game ending at 10:15 eastern or later. Thanks to that call, the final gun was at 10:14. Hmmm....talk about a dissatisfying ending. :upset1:

That is a pretty deep prop bet. Another point. I agreed with the call that got the Chiefs there, though that is pretty split too. However, it is pretty clear that there is a chosen group of players who are getting that, and you better damn well hope KP gets on that list.

Application of the rules. Much like the law, some are above it or it's an unbalanced scale.

It is what it is.

Eagles cost me a 2nd place pickem and had to settle for 3rd. I will put that yahoo trophy right next to the Steelers newest participation trophy. All this new hardware I just can't stand it.

The defender that held JuJu has stated it was the correct call.

To me, the playoffs and the Super Bowl were a little bit like being China or Russia or old Warsaw Pact watching the first Gulf War. Our attrition tactics are a burned out T-72 relic at this point. But rather then forced introspection, our brass simply doubles down on the same tactics thinking "we are really close."

The Beagles tried to get into Mahomes and Reid's heads by hiring Fangio who was fired from Denver and headed to be Miami's DC. They felt since he played against them twice a year, he could help. Apparently not and I love it.

Without the cameras and cheating. But yeah.

It's SSDD with the un-coverable TE over the middle thing too.

It's probably best the Steelers are in a semi rebuilding phase because they would get embarrassed like they did with Brady and Gronk all those years.

I'm not saying that he didn't hold him. I'm saying in the grand scheme it was an ill timed inconsistent call. There is physically no way in an NFL game that a team doesn't hold, hands to face, illegal contact etc. unless you let them play and that hold happened 10 -15 other times in the game.

It was an odd timed call. But that D put Philly in position for that call to matter. Hurts fumble didn't do them any favors either. Also if the corner showed better technique perhaps he would have still gotten beat but Philly would have had more of an opportunity to respond with more time at their disposal.

Either or that hyped Philly D was the elephant in the room more than anything else.

JuJu made a sweet move and totally had Bradberry beaten. If he doesn't grab his jersey twice (the second grab was minor compared to the first) on that play, JuJu is wide open in the endzone to receive the Mahomes throw. It was the right call. Everyone needs to get over it. This should not look bad on the NFL and the Chiefs shouldn't feel bad that they had a great play called and JuJu beat his man and would have been wide open. The replays show it all.
