Florida’s coral reefs are facing what could be an unprecedented threat from a marine heat wave that is warming the Gulf of Mexico, pushing water temperatures into 90s Fahrenheit.
“We’re entering uncharted territories,” said Derek Manzello, an ecologist and the coordinator of NOAA’s Coral Reef Watch program.
Too bad we gave Ukraine all those billions. America could have helped it's own people.
Are you denying that electric cars will cool the Earth?Really is a race to the bottom with some of you.
My place in March.
A little above average for the year, but not unusual for an elevation of 7,000 feet. Drawing and concluding data on a year by year basis is irrational, especially if that summary only includes that last hundred years or so. Man will destroy man long before he destroys this planet. Earth will survive just fine and spit us out like the speck of dust that we are.Is this par for the course, this time of year? Has it always been like this? Notice anything weird, strange or unusual, with this much snow in March?

The Hockey Stick!!!Fair enough Zona. For the record, you do not consider this factual information from NASA? You believe this is leftist, liberal hogwash and reject it out of hand?
- While Earth’s climate has changed throughout its history, the current warming is happening at a rate not seen in the past 10,000 years.
- According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), "Since systematic scientific assessments began in the 1970s, the influence of human activity on the warming of the climate system has evolved from theory to established fact."
- Scientific information taken from natural sources (such as ice cores, rocks, and tree rings) and from modern equipment (like satellites and instruments) all show the signs of a changing climate. From global temperature rise to melting ice sheets, the evidence of a warming planet abounds.
"Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal."

The mathematical models are horribly flawed, because they do not consider the feedback loops in nature. That is, when one part of an ecosystem gets increased or decreased, it naturally causes other effects, some of which can mitigate and some that can enhance the trend. But you have to know these variables, the interactions at small and large scales and the mathematical formulae to mimic same ---- and then put all that into a climate model, ensure all the data is excellent and then hope that all the formulas are correct.I won't argue that carbon dioxide levels haven't risen in the past 200 years, just not sure how much of an impact any of us can have on it, short of mass extinction that is.
Everyone driving a Prius won't put a dent in it. The earth has seen higher levels, albeit millions of years ago. Developing nations (India, China) aren't going to play along;
our efforts will be as frustrating as Don Quixote's stance against that windmill, and lowering our standard of living in the process. Batteries have their own issues, and developing hydrogen is years in the future, if ever. The biggest problem is our reluctance on going nuclear.
- Heat advisories and excessive-heat watches and warnings have been hoisted in 14 states. They stretch continuously from Washington state along the Canadian border to the Mexican border in the southwestern United States, and additionally cover parts of the Gulf Coast region from Texas to South Florida. More than 100 million Americans are under alerts.
- For the first time on record, an excessive-heat warning has been issued for Miami on Sunday. “Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112 [are] expected,” according to the National Weather Service.
- Europe is also facing a brutal heat wave. The Italian island of Sardinia could hit 117 degrees on Tuesday, approaching Europe’s all-time record. Rome may shoot past its all-time record of 105 and make it to 108. The heat may relent late this week, but return early the following week.
- China recorded its highest temperature on record Sunday as Sanbao climbed to 126 degrees (52.2 Celsius). It marked the highest temperature recorded north of 40 degrees latitude globally, according to weather historian Maximiliano Herrera.
It's just great that you have more fear porn to peddle, always political.Content to sit back, crack jokes, jerk off and watch the world burn... just to own the libs. Textbook definition of a collective self-own. Take a bow, folks.
Naw, no one here is for dirty water or air; temperatures getting hotter or colder depending on the months of the year.Content to sit back, crack jokes, jerk off and watch the world burn... just to own the libs. Textbook definition of a collective self-own. Take a bow, folks.
