The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

JMM, just an aside -- you strike me as a very cool dude who loves his classic rock music and some of the more simple things in life. What in life brings people together more than music, dance & food?

We need those three things more than ever.

Add in some old fashioned hard nosed football like we used to play... so yes, classic rock, good food, football, family and friends will go a long way. I'll leave the dancing to others. When I dance, I remind others of Elwood Blues. :)

Awesome avatar BTW!

Such a solemn event that that hag used autographed pens to **** around with it.

Classic rock and classic R&B and sorry you can't dance.

To be honest this might be more than their hatred of Trump. I think it's a warning for anyone who wants to try and drain the swamp, that you'll face impeachment if you try to buck the establishment. Some here rail on about the state of things with respect to Trump, what the House did, that's pretty scary stuff right there and something any freedom loving American should be very concerned about.

Or B). Trump abused his power and committed high crimes and misdemeanors for which he should be removed from office. Crazy, I know.

Nah, that's impossible, Trump would never do such a thing.

Poor Tibs, wrong at every turn. He gets his TDS little hopes up and they always get bashed with a hammer. I think it’s hilarious.

Oh I hear you. It sets an extremely dangerous precedent. Seems to me that now Impeachment articles will be filed over a wrong look or mannerism -- if it's the opposition party that's offended. It's scary ****.

We're heading into dark days. Our second amendment rights are being trampled on, they've weaponized our intelligence agencies against political opponents, we have homeless people defecating in streets of major cities, our mainstream media has completely lost its way -- the list goes on.

Sorry to be such a buzzkill, but this **** is real and is coming to a theater near you. I really wish it didn't have to come to this.

Sadly, these people are irrational and unhinged in their hatred of the POTUS and have reached kamikaze-level fanaticism. Are we going to live with this all out media and political assault for the next 5 years? That's part of their strategy, just to get people to a point that they blame Trump for all the noise and discord that they -- the Alinskyites -- have fomented. It's warfare and the only question is when it gets more up close and personal.

This is the strategy. Like the parents of a petulant child throwing a tantrum that give in to them with ice cream to shut them up.

Impeachment is a solemn event. Not often the country's gone down this road over the past two centuries. Quite sad that we've arrived to this point. Not a happy time in our history. Thank God the stock market is up and 401k's are killin' it. Otherwise, this would be a sad time for our country.

You're absolutely right... this is NOT a happy time in our history. The Democrats have successfully cheapened the act of impeachment for purely political reasons. They planned to impeach Trump from before he took the oath of office. They schemed to find evidence of ANY wrongdoing by Trump - no matter how trivial - and blow it into a charge of Abuse of Power. And the vote itself in the house was purely partisan FOR impeachment -- but bi-partisan AGAINST impeachment.

Then Pelosi had the audacity to make turning in the articles of impeachment to the senate into a photo opportunity - complete with parting gifts for her Democrat partners - who responded with joy and delight in this awesome gesture of receiving a pen with Pelosi's signature in gold. Yay TEAM!

Yep... sad, sad day in DC.

This is the strategy. Like the parents of a petulant child throwing a tantrum that give in to them with ice cream to shut them up.

So, when do these people get their ***** whipped into reality?

History always gives the answer of course. As Kipling wrote:

AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death."

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Fake Manu Raju from Fake CNN attempted to ask Martha McSally a question about the upcoming trial.

"Man you're a liberal hack. I'm not talking to you."

This could be ridiculously huge news. We've talked about Trump and the black vote. It continues to grow.

Take the time to read. This is YUGE news.

Black voters are starting to support Trump – And that could destroy Dems 2020 dreams (wsj)…

https://www.wsj.com/articles/can-trump-earn-black-support-11579133622

The traditional view of African-American voters supporting the Democratic Party could be upended by three recent polls, which show growing support for President Trump among black voters. What if in November enough black Americans voted for Donald Trump to re-elect him into the presidency?

This unlikely straw has been in the political winds recently because in three opinion polls—Emerson, Marist and Rasmussen—President Trump registered about 30% support among black voters.

Asked to respond by, former Hillary Clinton adviser Joel Payne said: “I have a better chance of jumping center for the Celtics tonight than Donald Trump having 30% support in the African-American community.” He may get the call.

The reason this unlikely 30% number breaks the seals in Democratic heads is that for years it has been a rule of thumb in politics that if black support for Republicans ever reached 20% of the total vote, a Democratic presidential candidate would not be able to win, ever.

A Gallup analysis of the Roper Center’s exit poll data has Republican candidates averaging about 10% of the black vote since 1976. In 2016, Mr. Trump topped out at 8%. Still, one wonders if Mr. Trump’s potential pull from black and Hispanic voters may be the sleeper issue of the 2020 campaign, the way conventional wisdom missed the 2016 Trump vote in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

One anecdote: I was walking through a neighborhood food court in Manhattan last month and noticed a new counter that sells smoked fish. Behind it, learning the operation, were five employees—all in their 20s and all black or Hispanic. A thought occurred to me: That’s the Trump economy. That is the reality behind the monthly jobs numbers. An entrepreneur got a loan to open this small business and gave these five what looked like their first jobs. Also reported in the past two years is how workers in their first or second jobs are moving up the pay scale into higher-level jobs.

But maybe some of these minority voters—maybe even the additional numbers Mr. Trump needs to earn 15% to 20% of the black vote—don’t think work grows on trees or out of federal transfer payments and do believe this president’s policies have contributed to their paychecks and improved prospects.

Conventional wisdom holds that Mr. Biden has a lock on the black vote. The Washington Post-Ipsos poll reported days ago that 48% of black voters prefer Mr. Biden over his Democratic rivals. The more intriguing corollary question is why have other Democratic candidates, including Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, failed to attract significant black support? Mr. Trump’s 30% support may be a figment, but theirs is pretty much invisible. Some of that sentiment for Mr. Biden’s could be a default, rather than the guarantee it was with Barack Obama.

Dan Bongino discussed the WSJ story today (love this guy):

Impeachment is a solemn event.

It should be. Your shills you vote for from behind the wall made a mockery of it, turning it into a circus.

So here you go. Impeachment set to Benny Hill. Apropos.

Fake Jim Acosta from Fake CNN

That was actually Manu Raju of CNN, a longtime congressional reporter, very well respected by both parties. The senator is a great example of how MAGA rots the brain > crude, rude, aggressive and volatile. Trumpism spreads like a disease, affecting all those who blindly follow him.

One of the most important things happening in this climate is Pravda-like State Media being exposed. Martha McSally is an American Patriot and hero.

And clearly Manu isn't respected by both parties. He's a liberal hack.

tibs - since this whole thing is orchestrated behind the idea that Trump asked Ukraine to investigate corruption ... as a taxpayer wouldn't you want your POTUS to ensure that foreign aid went to where it was intended to go instead of through the corrupt channels it always had been? even if the answer the POTUS got was a lie from the Ukraine president, it would show some attempt to try to subvert corruption, correct?

I don't care what anyone says.

The story is Hunter Biden is corrupt as hell. No way Joe Biden didn't know his hiring was for "perks" to get to him.

Again, any time something bad comes out on Democrats, the Democrats attack the messenger or how the message was gotten.

If it is bad against a Republican, blinders on how it was obtained. Public knowledge is more important.

If the RNC had gone down in flames due to illegal hacking, the media wouldn't give a ****. The message would be how corrupt Republicans are. We all know this to be true. Even Tibs.

The whole story and lesson of Ukraine is how the hell does Hunter Biden get a figurehead, do-nothing $500,000/year job in Ukraine while his father is Vice President and our MEDIA NEVER COVERS THE STORY.

If that doesn't scare the **** out of you, you need your ******* head examined. Tibs included.

Poor Bernie

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

They are rigging the election again against Bernie Sanders, just like last time, only even more obviously. They are bringing him out of so important Iowa in order that, as a Senator, he sit through the Impeachment Hoax Trial. Crazy Nancy thereby gives the strong edge to Sleepy Joe Biden, and Bernie is shut out again. Very unfair, but that’s the way the Democrats play the game. Anyway, it’s a lot of fun to watch!

Nah, that's impossible, Trump would never do such a thing.

Uhh, I know you don't actually research anything and simply parrot dumb **** from Media Matters and other garbage sites, but I hope I am not the first one to advise you ...

The impeachment articles DO NOT accuse Trump of violating a law or committing a crime. "Abuse of power" is not a crime. "Obstruction of Congress" by raising objections yo ask a court to rule on is not a crime.

Oh, I guess you didn't know that.

I hope Manu gets the professional counseling he needs. Just another solemn moment.

Tibs, I'd agree with you if there was actual evidence to support the impeachment. Those with even an impartial view of the situation can see that the Democrat's case is built on nothing but hearsay. It is all a simple political witch hunt. Just remember that the process can just as easily be turned against a Democrat president when the Republicans own the House. I know you won't agree and that is fine as you have your own point of view as we all do, but I simply think this has opened the door for even more corruption in The Swamp. The Establishment is circumventing our election process and with tactics like this, there will be no way to eradicate corruption no matter who is elected into office. If the establishment doesn't like what's going on, break out the misinformation and impeachment process like they did in 2016.

Asking Ukraine's new President, as part of an anti-corruption agenda and being skeptical of foreign aide, to look into the fishy hiring of Hunter Biden on some corrupt energy "board" just does not rise to high crimes and misdemeanors.

Period. End of debate. If you think so, your are biased against the President, look at it as part of a "greater picture" of impropriety (again, mostly based on your bias against his legitimate election win) and all part of "I want him impeached in any way shape or form".

They are rigging the election again against Bernie Sanders, just like last time, only even more obviously. They are bringing him out of so important Iowa in order that, as a Senator, he sit through the Impeachment Hoax Trial.

And if I were Mitch McConnell, THIS is what I would focus on. I would drag the "trial" out as long as humanly possible and keep both Warren and Sanders from campaigning as they are required to sit in to every moment of the trial. I would make this thing last 9 months. I'd call my witnesses and ask them 20,000 questions and have them take their time answering. I would essentially 'filibuster' the trial so Warren and Sanders can't do any campaigning and are left fuming at the trial.

BOOM. This could get ugly. It should.

GOP threatens to weaponize impeachment witnesses amid standoff

Republicans are threatening to weaponize a fight on Senate impeachment witnesses amid growing concerns that moderates within their caucus could help Democrats call former national security adviser John Bolton to testify.

After weeks of pledging that they would hold a quick trial with no witnesses from either side, Republicans - from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on down - are sending public warning shots that if their GOP colleagues open the door to Democratic witnesses they'll respond in kind, forcing votes on a slew of controversial individuals.

The pressure tactics are the latest shift in strategy as Republican leaders try to navigate the factions in their caucus, where moderates want to leave the potential for witnesses on the table and conservatives are anxious to quickly acquit President Trump.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said if GOP senators support calling people "who are unhappy about being fired," a reference to Bolton, "then I think the president should get to call his [witnesses] and we should have votes on those."

"The president gets to call anybody he thinks would be good for his defense, the prosecution can call who they want, but I don't think we should selectively call witnesses that don't like the president," Paul said.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) stressed that he hasn't made a decision on calling witnesses but said he expects that if Democrats and moderate Republicans open the door then Trump's team will be able to call individuals like Hunter Biden and a controversial former Democratic National Committee contractor.

"I assume that if we're going to be fair ... that if we get into having witnesses and evidence that both the prosecution and the defense will be able to weigh in as well," Kennedy said. "I feel pretty confident, though I don't know it for a fact, that the defense team is going to want to call its witnesses, including but not limited to the Bidens, [and] as a fact witness the whistleblower."

The threat, Republicans hope, could help dissuade Democrats, and a handful of their Republican colleagues viewed as swing votes, from agreeing to subpoena Bolton or one of the other witnesses being requested by Democrats.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) declined to weigh in on Thursday about if he would be willing to engage in a trade where Democrats could call Bolton in exchange for Republicans calling Hunter Biden, who has emerged as a prime fixation for Trump and his allies over his work on the board of a Ukrainian energy company.

"I'm not going to negotiate out here," he told reporters. "They haven't made any offer about any witnesses or any documents."

The trade off is an idea being floated by conservatives, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who is pitching his colleagues on the idea of "witness reciprocity."

"If they are going to bring witnesses in, we're not going to do what the House did of a one-sided show trial, and I think it should be at a bare minimum one-for-one," Cruz told Fox News's Sean Hannity. "So if the prosecution brings ... John Bolton, then President Trump can bring a witness. He can bring Hunter Biden."

Cruz's idea has garnered attention among conservative media figures including Hannity who told Cruz that he "loved your proposal" and that he hopes Democrats want four witnesses so "I get the four I want": the Bidens, the whistleblower and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is leading the team of House impeachment managers.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) referenced Cruz's idea, adding that he expects there could be a back-and-forth on the Senate floor to call witnesses.

"I suspect we'll have one witness at a time that we'll vote on. And Ted of course has floated the idea of witness reciprocity. Whether it's one-for-one, or two-for-two or four-for-four," Cramer said.

"I guess I would be surprised if there weren't witnesses," he added, while noting his preference would be that there are no witnesses.

McConnell has maneuvered behind the scenes to try to keep his caucus united as the impeachment trial begins, including closed-door meetings recently with moderates like Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), while also hearing pitches from Paul and Cruz.

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the No. 4 GOP senator, credited McConnell with getting Republicans in line behind the strategy of punting a decision on witnesses until after the trial begins and recognizing that various Republicans have different considerations than other GOP colleagues.

"I think he's done a good job listening and trying to understand that everybody has their own unique set of considerations here as to how they move forward," Blunt said. "By doing that [he] has all of us in the same place on the rules that we'll vote on next Tuesday. That's a good way to start."

The fight over impeachment witnesses is expected to come to a head in roughly two weeks. Though Democrats are expected to force votes on witnesses and documents next week, the vote to watch will be after the first phase of the trial.

The rules resolution, according to senators who have seen it, includes a built-in vote after opening arguments and questions from senators on whether there needs to be additional witnesses called or documents compelled.

That was a victory to a group of moderate senators who publicly urged McConnell to include the provision in the rules resolution.

Murkowski acknowledged that if they open the door to witnesses it could turn into an "unstructured" and "somewhat chaotic," but that the concession would help put a "solid structure" in place.

"I understand that this process will set that up for later on, and that's why I think it's so important that we have some structure. That we have given the courtesy for both sides to present their case, that we have allowed the senators to ask questions ... before we go into this back-and-forth," Murkowski said.

Though only Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) has specifically said that he wants to hear from Bolton, a handful of other Republican senators have specifically said they want to leave the door open and make a decision on witnesses after phase one.

Collins in a statement on Thursday evening said that she was "likely" to support calling witnesses after the initial phase of the trial but stressed that she had not made a decision yet on any particular individual.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), a retiring senator who is viewed as close to McConnell, told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that he was open to additional witnesses and that he had wanted "guaranteed the right to vote" of if more "evidence" is needed after the initial phase of the trial.

"Evidence could be witnesses," he said. "It could be documents."
