South Korea hails Trump-Kim Singapore summit as 'talks of the century'

SEOUL: South Koreans erupted in applause Tuesday (Jun 12) as Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un met for what local media billed as the "talks of the century".

As the historic first meeting between a sitting US president and North Korean leader began in Singapore, images of Trump and Kim exchanging handshakes and warm words drew jubilant reactions in Seoul and hopes for a new beginning with Pyongyang.

"We hope the summit will be a success and bring us a complete denuclearisation, peace and a new era" in relations between the two Koreas and the United States, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said.

The Trump Effect!

Trudeau just made a major pivot towards toughness with his Iran policy

It was a remarkable scene to watch unfold. On Tuesday afternoon, Canada’s Liberal cabinet rose to vote on a Conservative motion calling on the government to get tough on Iran.

It’s hard to understate just what a reversal this represents. Trudeau campaigned on restoring diplomatic relations with Iran and this motion calls for the government to “abandon its current plan and immediately cease any and all negotiations or discussion with the Islamic Republic of Iran to restore diplomatic relations.”

WE understand

Did anyone else notice that Kim seemed scared? He was sweating and he had that fearful look in his eyes.

I did see him sweating and looking uncomfortable a few times, but remember this guy is basically a hermit who's been sheltered most of his life. It's easy to be a sadistic dictator to a fearful people, but it's not so easy to actually be among freedom loving people (and some powerful people) where you just can't control things.

That's part of why I'm skeptical of Kim actually changing. It's not easy to change. He's comfortable being a sadistic hermit. I know Trump and team tried to show him the light the absolute best they could, but it's really all up to this guy. And it's going to take some courage & gumption. I hope for the best.

Democrat or Republican, you have to be behind this. This isn't just good for the three main countries affected, but the world as well. Everyone should want Trump to do well here.

If only that is how things worked. We had maybe 10 minutes of harmony before CNN and MSNBC, Menendez, Schumer and others started their bitching and crying. Disgusting.

Well, he hardly ever leaves NK.

Today he was given a choice between life or death. It appears that he chose wisely.

Edit, I meant to quote Iron about the fat kid being scared. I was in a steel mill today for 5 hours and it was a fricken sauna.

I got into a FB discussion with an old HS friend of mine and my HS economics teacher (avowed socialist). The refuse to admit the CNN lies and makes things up. They said that it's only Fox News that is a propaganda machine. Showed a video of edited Fox News clips saying that Obama would have met with KJU. You could tell how doctored it was. Instead of praising the summit, all the left knows how to do is complain. It's sad, really.

It seems the Left finally found a Communist dictator that they don't like.

“Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be “punch-drunk.” I guess he doesn’t…,” Trump wrote, continuing his sentence in a subsequent tweet, “…realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up Punchy!”

HA HA HA! I love it...

HA HA HA! I love it...

Been waiting almost 30 years for a Republican President who hits back.

(CNSNews.com) -- Criticizing some of the liberal media's coverage of the U.S-North Korea summit on denuclearization, President Donald Trump said "Fake News" outlets NBC and CNN are trying to "downplay" the summit, a deal they would have praised a year ago, and added that America's "biggest enemy is Fake News," which is "so easily promulgated by fools!"

In a June 13 tweet, the president wrote, "So funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN. They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea."

"500 days ago they would have 'begged' for this deal -- looked like war would break out [then]," he wrote.

"Our Country's biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools!" said President Trump.

MSMFN unhinged!

Food stamp enrollment at lowest level in 8 years.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/06/12/food-stamp-enrollment-dips-lowest-level-8-years/

And yes, I know it is Breitbart. Doesn't change the fact that the actual report is from the USDA.

When you discover that this is bad news to the ears of Liberals and Liberal politicians, then you start understanding what the mind set is and how much they actually care about people as opposed to how much they care about their own power/control over them. Their true intentions become known at times like this. It's a real eye opener.

Just a random thought here, but you ever notice Liberals turning to Conservatism but not the other way around? I often hear of people who were once Liberal but "have seen the light" sort of thing but not the opposite. I mean, I'm sure there are some examples but they are probably scant. And yeah, it is an eye opener when these power-hungry, group-think socialists' true colors come shining through. Pretty scary.

You know the old saying. If you're not a Liberal at 18 you don't have a heart. If you aren't a Conservative at 40, you don't have a brain.

Not that I'm a Conservative perse because I differ form traditional Conservatives on a few issues, but I'm certainly closer to Conservative than Liberal.

I guess 500 days and 30 line item points is the reason why. If you want to move it, go ahead.

It's Trump's night as his candidates sweep GOP primaries

Donald Trump erased all doubts about who owns the Republican Party on Tuesday night as several Trump-backed candidates swept to victory in GOP primaries.

Primaries were held in Maine, South Carolina, Virginia, Nevada, and North Dakota. Po-Trump candidates win crucial races. The most notable among Trump's victories occurred in South Carolina, where former governor and current GOP incumbent Congressman Mark Sanford, a bitter critic of the president, went down to defeat

In the most dramatic result in primaries across five states Tuesday, Sanford was the second incumbent House Republican to lose a primary this year – and the latest victim of intense divisions among the GOP in the Trump era.

In Virginia, pro-Trump Senate candidate Corey Stewart easily dispatched several challengers to win the right to face off with the state's incumbent Democratic senator Tim Kaine.

It will be a real interesting battle. This is what Stewart is going to have to go up against:

Its already begun

Is Stewart can beat Kaine, it would he a huge upset and a bit time loss for the Dems/

I expect Rick Scott to unseat Nelson in Florida, and the republican to win back another seat in West Virginia. Two Blues seats changing to red.

You never know but I doubt Stewart can win here. I seriously doubt any Republican can win a general election in this state these days. VA has been overrun by Democrats over the past 20 years. In my lifetime it has gone from a somewhat deep red to purple and now it's definitely blue. The rural areas are still conservative but with Richmond, VA Beach Northern VA, Charlottesville and Roanoke being large enclaves of Democrats, that's a lot of blue votes. To show you how bad it has gotten, Hillary won VA.. :(
