The compassionate left. Remove police from the communities that need them most. Here's an idea, let's try it in your neighborhood first and see how that works out.

I once hoped this would happen. Then it did. In Baltimore. After the Freddy Gray riots. The mobs were so violent and angry that the police stopped patrolling neighborhoods that were too violent. Said "You don't want us? Fine. Take care of your own."

Weeks later, the crime rose (of course) off the charts and the same people screaming for the cops to get out began screaming that the cops weren't protecting them.

Some will never learn.

Some know I mentor a black kid. He's now 17. Have been since he was 11. We've also housed another black kid for about 6 months. Both great kids. They all are. Different situations. One his dad is in jail. Has been his whole life. His mom got out. Has more brothers and sisters than I can keep track of. The other is a college athlete. His dad kicked him out of the house because his GF is white. Reverse racist. So we took him in. He and his girlfriend now have an apartment and live together. Sold him one of my cars for a dollar so he could have wheels. They come back often. He calls us his family. She does too.

Both spent the weekend with us. The younger has been with us for a week. Went fishing, played Rummikub, grilled, and just fellowshipped. It was the best weekend I've had in months.

Two nights ago the riots came up and the younger one was there with one of my white sons. I simply said there are bad apples in every bunch. There are bad teachers at your school who got arrested. There are bad cops. There are bad priests. There are bad accountants and sales people and bad neighbors and bad parents. Most of us...the vast majority...are good, decent, loving, caring people.

Never judge a group by the few bad apples.

That's where we are now. All cops are bad. All conservatives are bad. All white people are bad.

I cry for where we are, for the message being preached by the MSM that so many swallow. The lies they consume. Because it's not who we are.

My take. If a person is down, handcuff and detained the other police MUST phone in and report excessive force applied to the arrested person...over 10 seconds of it, otherwise make the by standing cops guilty too. Cops are there to protect, and serve, sometimes by making arrests to dangerous people. They are not there to watch a beating

While this is not a prefect solution, I guarantee you it would cut down on excessive beatings, some which lead to fatalities. Some cops might not care about a complaint. They do care about a criminal charge.

Change at the local levels, often run by Democratic politics in the urban centers where the problems are must make this change. The President can not.

Anyone with an IQ higher than my shoe size should agree with what they are saying...it makes no sense at all. Justifying crime because of anger makes no sense at all. Maybe it's too hard for those of us whose parents raised us to have self control and know how to control our temper to understand?
