This is police brutality

Women Reportedly Being Kidnapped and Pulled Into Cars During Minneapolis Riot, Random Drivers Being Shot At

Reports are circulating on social media that women are being kidnapped and people are now shooting at random cars in the Minneapolis riot.

Police are still standing down as the city burns for the second night in a row.

This is how they "protest" in Little Somalia.

I hadn't heard that the police were standing down, but I did see police cars being trashed and last night they evacuated the precinct and the mob set it on fire, so makes sense. Who would want to be a police officer in this lovely neighborhood?

The coverage is hilarious. A memo must have gone out about avoiding the "riot" word -
MINNEAPOLIS — Cheering protesters torched a Minneapolis police station..

Later in the article -
Hundreds of demonstrators returned Thursday to the Minneapolis neighborhood at the center of the violence, where the nighttime scene veered between an angry protest and a street party.

Yeah, those are rioters by definition. Now we are teaching kids that this is a "protest" and an opportunity to party!

Tibs - why are you not screaming about social distancing, wearing of masks, using hand sanitizer?

What a petty thing to be wondering about during a civil uprising and protest. But yeah, it does seem some of the protestors are wearing masks. Ironic, isn't it, how wearing a mask at a protest was a point of contention in the past, and now the lack of masks is an issue.

A new classic -

What did they think was going to happen after the FBI agent spoke yesterday, he said he didn't have enough evidence to bring criminal charges yet. People are pushed over the limit, and tired of this corrupt court system.

When Kaepernick and others protested against police brutality peacefully (and silently) by simply taking a knee, they were ridiculed and attacked mercilessly by Trump and a lot of posters on this board. That was unacceptable to you, how dare he?

To nobody's surprise, as these cases of police brutality continue, a whole lot of folks have gotten tired of peaceful, non-violent protests, as it's gotten them exactly nowhere.

So, as the demonstration and civil uprising continues on its third day in Minneapolis, maybe some of you will begin to understand the level of pent-up anger and emotion felt by these communities.

Oh, and about those right-wing fears and crocodile tears of government overreach, how your Constitutional rights are being trampled on, how the State is gonna come get your guns and and and..... well, it is happening, just not in the way that you imagined.

From the Pajama Boy Mayor's official city website.....they seem to not think it is petty.

http://www.minneapolismn.gov/news/WCMSP-224710

The City encourages everyone to exercise caution to stay safe while participating in demonstrations, including wearing masks and physical distancing as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The City has made hundreds of masks available to protesters this week.

And yes, this is a protest, a civil uprising by Americans of all colors and creed. There are protests in many cities, not just in Minneapolis. Yes, there is a lot of rage and anger on the streets, understandably so. Buildings are getting lit up, and yeah, there's been some looting. In typical fashion, right-wingers just focus on the looting, call the protestors thugs and criminals, and completely miss the big picture aspect of what is happening.

This has nothing to do with race IMHO. Cops do the same stuff to white people but nobody cares. I saw a video from a few years ago where a guy crashes his car. I assume he was running from the police. He climbs out of his car (that has flipped) and the cop just shoots him. He isn't armed and the cop doesn't even warn him. He isn't running. He's just climbing out of his car. To this day the cop hasn't been prosecuted. But the guy he shot was white. So no protest, marches, white lives matter no nothing.

Also as far as "This needs to stop". It's never going to stop. Just like medical malpractice is never going to stop. Murder is never going to stop. Why do people think that mistakes aren't going to be made by guys that are full of adrenalin, chasing people, shooting at people ETC...? It happens to fully trained doctors who receive some of the best education in the world along with years of certification. It is never going to end because it involves people.
Vader, you're correct but this is ABSOLUTELY RACE DRIVEN.

I'm not going to go down the rabbit hole of who gets abused the most. That doesn't matter.

Mayor Frey got it right. "Being black in America should not be a death sentence".

I'm afraid that this is the spark that is going to set the country into a horrific tail spin.

I'm praying for this country...

Great, so Supe there's your answer, yes they are wearing masks at civil rights protests during the Covid 19 pandemic.

This is what happens, after decades of disproportionate police brutality against minority communities, when a man gets murdered by cops in broad daylight for allegedly writing a bad check for $20. The resulting backlash and the pent-up anger is understandable and not surprising. Hopefully things will change for the better, when this is all said and done.

Look at those ******* police. LOL.

Ooh you deleted that comment, Tibs! Ha!

I had no idea there was so much to know about protests, riots, and looting. This is master class. I am 40 minutes into it. It's long but very interesting.

Nothing to see here. Vader & Indy laughed it off with 'that's been a running joke for years, ha ha'.

Yeah, a running joke amongst racists, maybe. Just the good ol' boys laughing amongst themselves, having a grand 'ol time. Looks like most everyone else on the board thinks a comment like that is perfectly acceptable in America, in 2020 no less. As Trump calls Kaeperneck and protesting NFL players 'sons of *******,' and the civil rights protestors 'thugs who should be shot.'

The crime was horrific but the looting is almost as bad. Why destroy your own neighborhood when all you want is justice ? These were not primarily protestors from what I saw, they were having a street party and a free for all looting spree. It's no wonder the message has problems gathering roots.

I'm surprised that there wasn't more of this ...

Minneapolis cops are investigating reports that the victim was a looter shot dead by an owner of the business, police department spokesman John Elder said at press briefing early Thursday.

It's a shame.

Memorial Day was celebrated this week and as a veteran I defended this country and the rights of everyone regardless of color or creed.

The age old comment of "you can't please everyone" still stands correct.

1. Silent protest (i.e. take a knee) equates to public ridicule and ostracism, from even the highest officials in the land.

2. Support the Million man march, public protest (Black Lives Matter/I Can't Breathe) and many were deemed as racist because of their support.

3. Protest gone bad - Ferguson and now Minneapolis. No excuse for the riots, at all, this country is nearing a tipping point and the media and government leaders better seek help from God because it's only going to get worse.

Stay safe, all of you.

The cops witnessed the event but apparently did not believe a crime had been committed. .

This is a good post, except for the part I bolded, because I have a question.

If the police commit a crime, and it is witnessed by other police, how often do they actually arrest each other? Hell, they don't even say anything much less take any kind of action. I think a large part of the problem is allowing the police to police themselves.

Is it me, or do a lot of the rioters look like white kids? Isn't that odd?

I see some nefarious activity here, that there are organized outside infiltrators here, the likes of Antifa, and other anarchist groups.

Another. It is actually an Antifa punk that is starting the looting.

When a journalist in America is called an ******* for simply doing his job, to quote hamster, "we have entered a dangerous time in this country."

Gasp, Americans of all races and backgrounds stand against police brutality. I know that is simply shocking to you.

I see some nefarious activity here, that there are organized outside infiltrators here, the likes of Antifa, and other anarchist groups.

Please provide a link or some actual information substantiating that this man is connected to Antifa or any anarchist group. Or did you just pull that out of your ***? Thanks. It does seem he's an instigator, but it is not clear who he is associated with, if anyone.

You nailed it on the head Indy. Professional courtesy = instituationalized racism and cover-up for murder.

Bingo, congrats!
