Tomlin says Pickins will play against the Bengals

Had a media interview this afternoon and made that announcement.
Said George is going through the growing process.
Wonder how the rest of the team feels about this?

LOL, what a joke, but not surprised at all. Gee I wonder why players just tune him out.
 
This organization is a total ******* train-wreck. Tomlin, his joke of a staff, this team, and at the head of the table sits Art II.
This has become the Bengals of old with Marvin Lewis and the cheap owner Mike Brown.
Things started changing there when Browns kids took control and Marvin was fired.
The losing seasons did pay off allowing them to draft Burrow and Chase.
Here, finish in the middle, draft in the middle, stay in the middle.

trying to win games, you have to put your best players on the field. but some of those players are head-cases and should be disciplined. so who does QB throw to?

Can Watt catch?
 
I would boycott but, it would be impossible for me to spend less on the NFL/Steelers than I currently do. $0.00

THAT is why he acts the way he does…he is enabled. I would bench him the rest of the year if it meant I lost every game, so be it. You can’t keep rewarding these immature antics that has become the norm under Tomlin.

In theory I agree but in practical terms it is not feasible in a league where you are paid to win and only have a limited number of available slots and players. It is not like College.

In reality his punishment will be making far less money when the next contract comes up.

How the rest of the team feels? Someone on the roster should have taken Pickens aside and read him the riot act. Especially on the offensive side of the ball. That in itself is a huge problem. The team has no leadership, especially on offense. Even if they did, there's so many players that don't give a rat's ***. They're just collecting - or stealing - a paycheck.

I wonder how Mean Joe, Lambert, Mel Blount... would have handled someone if they'd have pulled a stunt(s) like Pickens did? I wouldn't have wanted to be lined up against them at the next practice - that's for sure!

We’re all living in the past here. These players are different today. Steelers have zero leaders only guys that care about themselves.
We have no players like the ones from the 70’s or even the earlier 2000 teams. There are no Troy’s, Clarks, Farriors, Hampton, Harrison’s, Wards, Fanecas,, Bettis. Those type players have gone from this team for some time now.
You’re relying on only one person to get the massage across and that happens to be shades. Do I need to go any further?
 
Get what you can from him now and trade him in the off season.
 
Pickins is getting torn apart in the sports world, yet Tomlin has chosen to ignore anything this kid has done. At least Warren the only player to say anything that if roles were reversed Warren would have made sure to make that block. The only kid on offense that busts his tail on the field is the only player to say one thing. Say a lot of where our Steelers are.
 
I think Georgie will be just fine contract wise in 2 more years. I’m sure the league has taken notice of us becoming the Bengals at the top and will gamble on the same talent we did coming out of the draft.

But what do I know…. I’m just a white guy who never played in the nfl, right Osama Bin Spinthenfall?

Only thing I can think of is that his value is at a low but if you bench him then you are kind of putting the other arm behind your back. With that being said the guy is a cancer and is not a Steeler and does not represent Pittsburgh.

I’ve definitely given up. Pickens will not be a football player as long as he is allowed to do what he has been doing.

Coach Tomlin is trying his magic WooWoo to see if it will work. If successful, Tomlin’s value will be skyrocketed and contract extended in - definitely.

If this was the first thing to come up, I could give a pass to Coach Tomlin, but it isn’t……… it seems to be a very big constant thing with this team……….. WHY ???

This degree of Chaos doesn’t happen on other teams. I see Bad Bad media on the Steelers all the time now-A days, the rest of the NFL teams don’t generate this many combined.

I never root for “TANK”, but if there ever was a case to be made, this is the year for it.
