Tomlin Sucks

The Steelers are nothing like they used to be. They're pretty much just a shell of their former selves. I laugh when I hear tough hard nosed physical football team.

They do nothing exceptionally well on either side of the ball.

The defense is the wet rice paper curtain and the offense couldn't power its way through wet rice paper.

It's all gone soft,uber predictable,stale and there's no leadership. It's just a bunch of guys,not a team.
Hell their best offensive player is on his own page in a different book, you can't even tell him that or he will melt down mentally and be worthless.

I've thought the same thing for TJ and Heyward.

Then I remembered the '80s. We never felt bad for Louis Lipps or someone and wished he could go somewhere else to win something. We've become soft! Hahaha.

I know Lipps wasn't remotely generational, but he was probably their best player during those middle '80s years till Rod Woodson got there.
We’ve become conditioned to feel change isn’t currently on the horizon

Thus hope jumped out the window

Hope is a helluva a drug, without hope you just feel hopeful for better for your favorite players

Would love to see the havoc he could create opposite Hutchinson

Will the CHICAGO BEARS actually make an offer for TOMLIN ?
So Tomlin has a "no-trade clause" in his contract. If it was ever going to happen, it'd have to be something he and Rooney agree on after the season.

Of course not…..but the real question is would the Windy City welcome SteveA to the Bears forum if it did happen?
Just messing with ya Steve…..but as Tomlin’s #1 or #2 or actually maybe #3 nuthugger it’s a legitimate question. 🙂🙂

Dear Mr. Rooney

Just hire a Header Coach that is above Mike
In the power structure. I’ll even offer my services to fill the role of bossing that dumb *** a round and micromanaging him to a point where his resignation or willingness to waive the no trade clause will happen very quickly.
It’s ok, I know your cheap AF so I’ll do it for season tickets.

Sincerely,
A concerned fan

When? He sure as hell let him audible from 2007 through 2019 when he got hurt. It's a cheap argument. I don't know why the hell he didn't let him after that, if he truly didn't. It was a stupid decision on his part, no argument there.

That being said, I think this audible thing is overrated. My buddies and I used to joke about it when we'd watch Steeler games. You'd get all excited, you'd see Ben pointing an shiit, announcers saying "he's audibiling!", blue 52 and all that, the play would go off and it wouldn't be much. It started to become funny. I can't remember any, but can you recall one big play Ben had that sticks out that you were sure he was audibiling? I really can't. Audibiling and improvising are two different things.
Ben's last season he stated that he wasn't able to audible. Of course when the 4th quarter came....they let Ben be Ben and he had 6 or 7 4th quarter come from behind wins. That was I believe Canada's first year as our OC.

Look, at the end of the day none of us really know what is going on, one way or the other. We make assumptions. Perhaps this is why I have given Tomlin and the staff benefit of the doubt. We think we know, but we don't know shiit, one way or the other.

But I listened to DK this morning about the game. This is a guy that is close to the situation, and he was highly critical of Tomlin and the staff. I like DK because he seems reasoned in his analysis. Anyway, I gotta concede after listening to that and some of the Williamson stuff over the year, you guys are more right than me, a lot of it IS the coaching.

But unfortunately, as ugly as this is, it may have to get a lot uglier for Rooney to do anything. Idk, I'm a pretty positive guy, but this has a little of the hopeless feeling that I remember from the '80s.
Maybe DK reads this site to gain expert insight.

Anyway, too bad that you have awoken from your dream state re:Tomlin to understand the depth of the suckitude that many others here have been aware of and critical of (and criticized by you repeatedly) for years.

Glad that you were able to articulate this, because the Rooneys have to be made accountable to Steeler fans for any real change to happen. The more voices that protest, the faster the change potential becomes.

fwiw, djfan is about a decade ahead of DK in his understanding of Tomlin.

Need to point the excellent and proper usage of nuthugger! Context, relevance, historical backdrop..... nailed it!!

I’ve never really considered DK to be any sort of guru on all things Steelers but rather a very measured middle of the road opinion who frequently gets around (after some time) to what several of the posters here have already noticed and brought to light.

He’s the epitome of JAG, likely more worried about continuing access than valid hard hitting takes that could jeopardize his access.

It’s why I hang out here and soak up the wide range of both moderate and extremist (but frequently correct) opinions…and the humor here is much better too!
