There are problems involving just about every aspect here. US sources are limited, Trump has pressure on the Chinese to back off, now Brazil has cut supplies temporarily. We need to get our own mills back up and running before we start spanking the Chinese.

Very few of the mills that I know are at capacity. Most have plenty of room to increase production. That said, I deal with finishing, not steel making. If blast furnace capacity is almost full then I'm fine with importing slabs and black band. Just slap big tariffs on cold rolled steel. BTW, a new mill just started up, Big River Steel in Arkansas. USS has re-started their Granite City plant too.
