Trump - Make America Great Again!

Not open for further replies.
Not one of these candidates except Rand is actually talking about shrinking the federal government. That is priority 1 for me, nothing else matters if we don't do that and no one is seriously proposing it in any meaningful way. Certainly not Trump with his wall and mass deportation talk.
In addition to it being the right thing to do - enforce the ******* laws - it actually does save the government a ton of money.

For every illegal migrant household that leaves the United States under Trump’s plan, Americans would recoup nearly three-quarters of a million dollars ($719,350), according to 2010 data collected by Heritage scholar Robert Rector.

Trump. Trump. Trump. CNN, MSNBC - all about Trump....

I see no real difference between Hillary and Trump (except that he's probably a lot more ignorant and incoherent on a lot of issues than she is). He's for all intents and purposes a lifelong Dem dressed in Rep clothing.

Oh boy...

He's for slashing taxes. Dems are not.
He's for enforcing legal immigration. Dems are not.
He's for fighting ISIS. Dems are not.
He's for strengthening our military. Dems are not.
He's for bringing jobs back here and lowering unemployment. Dems are not.
He's for improving care for veterans. Dems are not.
He's for cutting out wasteful spending. Dems are not.
He's for securing our borders. Dems are not.
He is not a ***** to special interest groups. Everyone else is.
He's anti political correctness. Dems are not.
He's pro America. Dems are not.

Just a few of the differences...

Basically everything every politician that has ever ran for office has said he was going to do. He's gonna bring back jobs, defeat our enemies, lower taxes, not going to cater to special interests, blah blah blah blah.

I know what he says he's for now. Dude I'm sorry but I think you have blinders on. He's repeatedly stated he's all for single payer government run healthcare. He's vague on that now but doesn't really rule it out completely. Hillary was a guest at his wedding and he's donated thousands of dollars to Democrats, including Hillary and the Clinton Foundation. The vast majority of his political contributions have gone to Democrats. He's putting on this "I'm a Tea party conservative now" show and you're falling for it hook line and sinker. He's a performer. How can you not see what's happening here?

I rarely agree with RR, but I was going to say that you need to add "He says" to the beginning of most of them. Probably, all of them, except of the anti-political correctness. Clearly, he is that.

Of course we all know that "anti-political correctness" is just white people code for "I want to be able to say N____", right? Right?!

Theoretically that all may be true but in reality it's never going to happen.

People who are actual conservatives stand with Rand. He is the only candidate on either side of the major parties that is talking about personal liberty and restraining the National Government inside the constitutional limits of the Federal System.

I actually like Rand quite a bit, just as a human being. He's the ONLY Republican I've seen stand up and say that racism is a real problem in America, and that abusive policing is a constitutional problem. He also seems open to ending the drug war, which would do alot to get these jack booted pigs to leave folks alone.

But he's utterly unelectable to national office, primarily because he'd be branded an anarchist by the mainstream media if he ever got anywhere near the lead in the polls.

Sarah making quite an impression...

The Oneforthebus has you dead to rights on this one, buddy. He's not for most of that ****.

He's for slashing taxes. Dems are not.

Factually untrue. Has said repeatedly that he intends to raise taxes.

He's for enforcing legal immigration. Dems are not.

His wall to nowhere is a non-starter. His roundup and deport plan is a non-starter. That is rhetoric, just like Obama saying he would close Gitmo. Still hasn't happened.

He's for fighting ISIS. Dems are not.

?? So my friends in the Navy and Air Force who are flying drone missions EVERY DAY, and the Special Forces we have on the ground who risk their lives EVERY DAY, they don't count? Way to support the troops tough guy.

He's for strengthening our military. Dems are not.

Strengthen it how? By building more aircraft carriers we don't need while front line soldiers are still wearing 20 year old IBAs? Cuz that's how Bush "strengthened" it while I was soldiering.

He's for bringing jobs back here and lowering unemployment. Dems are not.

He has said this. Funny how he hasn't detailed it beyond saying that he would implement protectionist import taxes. Ask Brazil how well that worked out. I think the Real is trading at HALF it's value from a year ago. Protectionism is Big Government. I thought you were supposed to hate that? Government interference in the economy is supposed to be sacrilegious to you "conservatives".

He's for improving care for veterans. Dems are not.

That's just a lie. More reforms, investigations, and additional support for veterans has been done under the Obama administration than any other administration going back to Eisenhower.

He's for cutting out wasteful spending. Dems are not.

That's a talking point. They all say it, no one does it. What's he gonna cut, specifically?

He's for securing our borders. Dems are not.

This one is actually true. But. The Wall To Nowhere is a non starter. It's never going to happen. He might throw some soldiers down there though.

He is not a ***** to special interest groups. Everyone else is.

Oh yes he is. He's a ***** to the white nationalists, the Islamophobes and the ton of friends he has on Wall Street who he's constantly bragging about.

He's anti political correctness. Dems are not.

This is also true. He's also anti civility, anti decorum, anti decency of any kind.

He's pro America. Dems are not.

This last one is just silly, but indicative of how absurd Trump followers are.

:rofl2:

You deniers haven't disproved any of those points, it's just your opinion that he's lying.

He's for the 2nd amendment. Dems are not.
He's for lower capital gains taxes (huge). Dems are not.

You deniers haven't disproved any of those points, it's just your opinion that he's lying.

He's for the 2nd amendment. Dems are not.

Again, factually untrue. He supported the "assault weapons ban" and extended background checks and waiting periods.

PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

Donald J. Trump on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative. Here’s how we will do that:

Enforce The Laws On The Books

We need to get serious about prosecuting violent criminals. The Obama administration’s record on that is abysmal. Violent crime in cities like Baltimore, Chicago and many others is out of control. Drug dealers and gang members are given a slap on the wrist and turned loose on the street. This needs to stop.

Several years ago there was a tremendous program in Richmond, Virginia called Project Exile. It said that if a violent felon uses a gun to commit a crime, you will be prosecuted in federal court and go to prison for five years – no parole or early release. Obama’s former Attorney General, Eric Holder, called that a “cookie cutter” program. That’s ridiculous. I call that program a success. Murders committed with guns in Richmond decreased by over 60% when Project Exile was in place – in the first two years of the program alone, 350 armed felons were taken off the street.

Why does that matter to law-abiding gun owners? Because they’re the ones who anti-gun politicians and the media blame when criminals misuse guns. We need to bring back and expand programs like Project Exile and get gang members and drug dealers off the street. When we do, crime will go down and our cities and communities will be safer places to live.

Here’s another important way to fight crime – empower law-abiding gun owners to defend themselves. Law enforcement is great, they do a tremendous job, but they can’t be everywhere all of the time. Our personal protection is ultimately up to us. That’s why I’m a gun owner, that’s why I have a concealed carry permit, and that’s why tens of millions of Americans have concealed carry permits as well. It’s just common sense. To make America great again, we’re going to go after criminals and put the law back on the side of the law-abiding.

Fix Our Broken Mental Health System

Let’s be clear about this. Our mental health system is broken. It needs to be fixed. Too many politicians have ignored this problem for too long.

All of the tragic mass murders that occurred in the past several years have something in common – there were red flags that were ignored. We can’t allow that to continue. We need to expand treatment programs, because most people with mental health problems aren’t violent, they just need help. But for those who are violent, a danger to themselves or others, we need to get them off the street before they can terrorize our communities. This is just common sense.

And why does this matter to law-abiding gun owners? Once again, because they get blamed by anti-gun politicians, gun control groups and the media for the acts of deranged madmen. When one of these tragedies occurs, we can count on two things: one, that opponents of gun rights will immediately exploit it to push their political agenda; and two, that none of their so-called “solutions” would have prevented the tragedy in the first place. They’ve even admitted it.

We need real solutions to address real problems. Not grandstanding or political agendas.

Defend The Rights of Law-Abiding Gun Owners

GUN AND MAGAZINE BANS. Gun and magazine bans are a total failure. That’s been proven every time it’s been tried. Opponents of gun rights try to come up with scary sounding phrases like “assault weapons”, “military-style weapons” and “high capacity magazines” to confuse people. What they’re really talking about are popular semi-automatic rifles and standard magazines that are owned by tens of millions of Americans. Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own.

BACKGROUND CHECKS. There has been a national background check system in place since 1998. Every time a person buys a gun from a federally licensed gun dealer – which is the overwhelming majority of all gun purchases – they go through a federal background check. Study after study has shown that very few criminals are stupid enough to try and pass a background check – they get their guns from friends/family members or by stealing them. So the overwhelming majority of people who go through background checks are law-abiding gun owners. When the system was created, gun owners were promised that it would be instant, accurate and fair. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case today. Too many states are failing to put criminal and mental health records into the system – and it should go without saying that a system’s only going to be as effective as the records that are put into it. What we need to do is fix the system we have and make it work as intended. What we don’t need to do is expand a broken system.

NATIONAL RIGHT TO CARRY. The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.

MILITARY BASES AND RECRUITING CENTERS. Banning our military from carrying firearms on bases and at recruiting centers is ridiculous. We train our military how to safely and responsibly use firearms, but our current policies leave them defenseless. To make America great again, we need a strong military. To have a strong military, we need to allow them to defend themselves.

Donald Trump said:
I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.

Dude is playing you for a sucker. Shame you can't see it.

Great article...

Trump only GOP contender with chance to win
Jan. 20, 2016 Updated 3:34 p.m.
By Robert Davi / Contributing Writer

Ted Cruz cannot win a General Election for president, in my humble opinion. My life has been spent looking for the truth in human behavior and how it is perceived by the populace, and while Cruz can talk a good game to some corners of the Republican Party, the general election voter would reject him outright. In fact, there is only one GOP contender I see that can win a general election: Donald Trump.

I do not know Ted Cruz personally but to me he projects an insincerity that borders on phoniness. This may not be his intention but I have watched his speeches and his practiced and carefully crafted responses. He comes across to me as an elitist, and at times condescending. I'm certainly not the only one who sees this but as an actor I have developed somewhat of a 6th sense when it comes to authenticity.

The tone-deafness of some of the pundits and voters is astounding to me. This is the year of authenticity. Voters need to be able to discern true authenticity as opposed to someone pandering for votes. Cruz, above anything else, is a lawyer. Lawyers are skilled wordsmiths who talk around and twist arguments like pretzels and are able to sway impressionable minds even when the evidence of guilt lies clear.

They do not build anything. They do not create jobs. They equivocate. America needs someone who can rebuild; someone who thinks outside the box and is a true leader and innovator in thinking.

The world can see what Trump has created. There are many stories of his ability to get things done — on time and under budget. He is beholden to no one. America needs Trump more then he needs us for our survival. Now, with the endorsement of Sarah Palin, anyone who was questioning Trumps conservative bona-fides must take pause. Palin, who Cruz credits for his being in the Senate, must be terribly disheartened that one of his greatest ideological allies sees the importance of this election and the necessary importance of rallying behind Donald Trump.

Some of Cruz's support is based on his grandstanding on Obamacare in the United States Senate. Folks, it did nothing except to give him attention. Did it help our country one bit? Did he get a consensus? Was he able to change anything? No. And yet he is pinned with the empty medal of being able to do what all lawyers are able to do: talk.

I have watched Trump lead. Trump alone has shaped much of the discussion of what is needed for America this election cycle and is able to galvanize. Cruz has taken some of his talking points from Trump and now co-ops them as his own. I find that repugnant.

I've met both Trump and Cruz years ago very briefly. They both seemed like nice guys but the difference is there was something more presidential about Trump.

That's why it is so disturbing to me that conservatives like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh, both of whom I respect, recently asked for Trump to stifle his battle against Cruz.

Why do they want to hamstring Trump? Why don't they complain about the super-PACs that attack Trump? Instead of taking the gloves off they want Trump to put one hand behind his back. I say shame on you gentleman. Let Trump be Trump and get off the machine.

Trump is standing amidst a field that has continually tried to diminish him. From the media pundits to the politicians and even the party itself, everyone has tried to tear down Trump. Even still, he has withstood the storm.

When I first wrote about Trump on June 16, 2015, I wondered if he could take a punch. Well guess what, he has shown he has an iron jaw. Now it is time for us to do what is right for America and not what is right for the political class.

Trump grabs double-digit lead in Iowa

Trump is supported by 37 percent of likely GOP voters in the Hawkeye State, followed by Ted Cruz, at 26 percent, and Marco Rubio at 14 percen

That represents at least a 3-point rise for each of those candidates from the same survey conducted in late November and early December. All other candidates remain in single digits in the latest survey, with Ben Carson at 6 percent, Jeb Bush at 3 percent, Mike Huckabee at 3 percent and Rand Paul at 2 percent.

One of the rare times Trump actually made sense and spoke with reason.

He's for slashing taxes....

He's for enforcing legal immigration.
He's for fighting ISIS.
He's for strengthening our military.
He's for improving care for veterans.
He's for securing our borders.

Isn't there a problem here?

No, it can all be paid for by cutting wasteful spending and perks to special interest groups.

I'd be interested to see those dollar amounts and specifics. I was under the impression the vast majority of our federal spending was on defense and entitlement programs.
