I am not sure how 50% of people polled say Trump won the debate.

Because they've already made up their minds. He could have walked out and taken a giant dump on the floor and some people would be praising him for his boldness and humanity. No unbiased rational person could truly believe he won that debate. He demonstrated zero knowledge of anything and displayed a ton of ignorance and crassness.

Violation of every single citizens 4th amendment rights is a pretty big thing. The NDAA aliws the executive branch the authority to declare you a terrorist (Bill of attainder mean anything to you) and terminate your life without due process(violation of the 5th Amendment and extra judicial murder) is a huge problem.

Sen Ted Cruz has attached his name to Senate legislation that would curtail several key parts of NSA spying.

He is renewing his push for a bill to end the National Security Agency’s bulk data collection program while also temporarily extending elements of the PATRIOT Act, a measure that is opposed by Rubio and Paul, albeit for different reasons. Rubio says the controversial bulk data program, which leaker Edward Snowden revealed to the news media, is paramount to a strong national defense, while Paul says the PATRIOT Act needs to be repealed root and branch because it infringes on civil liberties.

Cruz suggests a more moderate approach is needed.

“We need to walk and chew gum at the same time,” he said in the Capitol on Wednesday. “We need to both be vigorous in protecting the security of our country, and in particular, making sure we have the tools to stop acts of terrorism before they occur. But at the same time, we have an obligation to honor the Bill of Rights.”

Exactly. The base wasn't crazy about McCain and REALLY didn't turn out for Romney. Swing voters, when faced with a choice between Democrat and Democrat Lite, will choose Democrat most of the time.
I have mentioned before that I worked on Romney's campaign at the county level and a little bit at the state level and I will tell you straight up that it was a clusterfuck.

The only thing that will win this election for for the GOP is a real conservative with a platform of peace, prosperity, small government and personal liberty. They must seperate themselves out from the DNC.

Of course the Liberals and MSM will tell us that such a candidate cannot win while they are hoping we forget that such candidates lost the last two times.
