twitter updates from camp

Maybe read more of the board instead of just posting links to articles every five minutes and you might see some of those posts. And it's not just Tibs... but hey, we're all just "******* around" right?

Easy fix for that if you dont like the links..dont ******* read them seems pretty simple to me.I read the board and besides Tibs being tongue in cheek I havent seen over the top comments. The update thread has how many views so I guess someone is reading them.

trust me, I don't read what I don't want to read. It was just a "******* around" "tongue in cheek" comment man. Why are you getting all defensive? The point was obviously if you spent a little less time posting links (used to be a rule where you had to post the story WITH the link but that's besides the point), and a little more time reading you might see the posts.

Just my two cents...the posting of all those links is pretty annoying. Those who want to read each and every one should just get a ******* Twitter account and follow Steelers Depot (that's what I do). I think this board should be more about discussion than a place to read Twitter...

Steelers Camp Report: Day 15

By Scott Brown | August 14, 2014 8:55:38 PM PDT
LATROBE, Pa. -- A daily review of the hot topics coming out of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp.

The Steelers final practice of training camp also marked the return of rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier. The first-round pick was a full participant in practice for the first time since bruising his right knee on Aug. 3. Shazier ran with the first-team defense in the Steelers’ joint practice with the Buffalo Bills and didn't appear to be hampered by his injured knee. Shazier's return bodes well for him playing Saturday night against the Bills at Heinz Field.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin did not give an indication of how long the starters will play Saturday night in the team’s second preseason game. Tomlin only said that the starters will play more against the Bills than they did last Saturday in a 20-16 loss to the New York Giants. Most of the defensive starters played an entire quarter last Saturday but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger played just one series and logged six snaps. Running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount played seven snaps apiece. “Really haven’t looked at a snap allocation yet,” Tomlin said on how much the starters will play, “but rest assured we’re going to get more exposure to those guys in the football game.”
Outside linebacker Jarvis Jones (groin) did not practice and is unlikely to play Saturday. The injury that has nagged Jones in camp could provide a big opportunity for Chris Carter. The fourth-year veteran has been playing right outside linebacker with the first-team defense in Jones’ absence. Also not practicing were fullback Will Johnson (hamstring), linebacker Vince Williams (concussion), left guard Ramon Foster (knee), linebacker Jordan Zumwalt (groin), safety Will Allen (hamstring) and tight end Matt Spaeth. Center Maurkice Pouncey was given the day off.
Tomlin almost spoke a day too soon when he lauded the “etiquette” that the Steelers and Bills displayed during their first joint practice on Wednesday. A fight nearly broke out between the Steelers’ offense and Bills defense, and a few fists were thrown before the referees restored order.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, who had a quiet camp, drew the biggest roar from the crowd when he scored an 85-yard touchdown after racing past Bill cornerback Sam Miller and catching a deep ball from Bruce Gradkowski. Markus Wheaton had a good practice with a handful of nice catches, including a beautiful over the shoulder grab in a one-on-one passing drill.
The Steelers added a long snapper when they signed Luke Ingram, who was with them in camp last year. The 6-5, 258-pound Ingram joins Bryce Davis as the Steelers’ healthy long snappers with Greg Warren out for the next months because of a meniscus tear.

Why are you so sensitive? It's a bit sad.

I think your thread sucks and the people that like it are a bunch of luddites who are probably still using dial-up internet. This board needs to be something other than a rehash of Twitter material or pretty soon it will be completely obsolete. That's my two cents, feel free to ignore me if you don't want to see my posts.

Lol sensitive cause i made a joke. Give it a rest. Obviously you have twitter and can find the updates. Others dont or dont care to try. So they appreciate it all in one place. I get it you dont like it. So my question is why are you opening it. It only says what it is in the title yet you still opened it Everbody wants to scream its a message board then turn Nazi when its something they dont want to read. Ignore you for what. I have no beef with you.. that was an offer to Idioteque to him and him only.

Why open a thread when you know you aren't going to like it? Ridiculous.

I like the idea of a news aggregator so I don't have to search various sources myself. Wtf is wrong with people who have to piss in someones Cheerios? As others said, ignore the thread (a little Johnnie Cochran rhyme there)

Mike Tomlin said today that long snapper Greg Warren has a meniscus injury that will require surgery and sideline him for at least four weeks.

That's troublesome for the Steelers since it will carry into the regular season.

Currently, Bryce Davis is the only other long snapper on the roster.

Tomlin said the team will look at its options at the spot, which could include something in-house or looking elsewhere. The Steelers signed Luke Ingram later in the day. He was with the team in training camp last year.

Warren is considered one of the best in the business and it's not something you think a lot about unless the long snapper is messing up.

@ Tomlin made another statement today that was somewhat surprising.

He finally called rookie Ryan Shazier's knee injury something other than a "boo-boo," characterizing it as a bruise.

Shazier, who hadn't practiced fully in nearly two weeks, did so on Thursday.

He showed off his impressive speed on one play, chasing down scrambling quarterback E.J. Manuel of Buffalo.

If the quarterbacks would have been live to hit, Shazier might have taken his head off before Manuel got out of bounds.

@ Jarvis Jones will also be questionable with his groin strain, though Tomlin said linebacker Vince Williams could be ready to return by then. Neither practiced Thursday, though.

@ Things got heated at times in this practice, mostly with the Buffalo defense and Pittsburgh offense.

Cody Wallace, subbing for Maurkice Pouncey, who sat out, got into a fight with defensive tackle Landon Cohen that had players from both teams running from the other field.

Antonio Brown also took a swing at 303-pound defensive tackle Kyle Williams during the scrum.

Later, Buffalo defensive end Jerry Hughes took offense at something said or done by Steelers left tackle Kelvin Beachum and spent the next 20 seconds yelling profanities at him as Hughes walked from the field.

Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount left his team's spot - behind the line of scrimmage - and did a beeline for Hughes before offensive coordinator Todd Haley yelled for him to get back where he belonged. Mike Tomlin then spent several moments talking to Blount, who I'm sure was just going over to ask Hughes where he learned such a vast array of curse words.

@ The two rookies from Clemson stole the show today. It's no wonder people were considering Tigers quarterback Taj Boyd a first-round pick based on his numbers, then he fell off all of the draft charts when they actually started investigating him.

Buffalo rookie Sammy Watkins and Steelers rookie Martavis Bryant, Clemson's starting receivers last year, were a handful for the defensive backs on both sides today.

Watkins' change of direction left some guys covering air as he shook free of coverage. Bryant, meanwhile, continually got deep on the Buffalo corners.

@ Defensive end Nick Williams was gimpy toward the end of practice today for the Steelers. It appeared that he did something to his left knee.

I don't think anyone is angry about the constant Twitter updates. More just making fun of the guy who posts them every three minutes and treating them as Gospel Truth. Or anything besides something to stare it when bored.

Though Al brings up a good point: this place needs more posts of substance and less copy/paste bullshit.

AB needs to pick on people his own size.

Here's the thing: this thread is not just "Twitter updates" for people to read. It's Twitter updates with some actual football discussion interspersed. But the football discussion jumps from topic to topic as new Twitter updates are thrown in. So this thread is just a big clusterfuck of different topics and opinions which takes away from real, in-depth discussion. So it sucks.

So how is this thread any different from every other bloody thread on this site lately? Every thread gets highjacked by some bozo either changing topics or flaming someone for not agreeing with them.

I like the updates. Years ago we had members who would go training camp and give us their opinion. It doesn't seem to happen near as much anymore.

If you don't like it, go find another thread...
