One would think that… but it hasn’t always been past practice… and i have never understood why
It’s about viewership

Can't lose in December. Otherwise it's over, as we are seeing.
Extend that contract!
I wouldn’t care so much if it wasn’t a pattern… During the original “ unleash hell” season of 2009, we lost three in a row after a 6-2 start… including a loss to a KC team that would finish 4-12… Tomlin announces that we will unleash hell, and we promptly lose two more to teams that both finish 5-11….
Then win 3 straight to close the season at 9-7… the final two wild card teams finished 9-7… we win just one of those games during that 5 game stretch and we make the playoffs, two and we win the division…
Tomlin is tge king of barely missing or making the playoffs
The "Fire everyone" crews are always so funny. Who do you plan to replace Mike Tomlin with? Harbaugh isn't coming to Pittsburgh, get over that dream. Ben Johnson? Not happening. Perhaps the Steelers could lure Kellen Moore to Pittsburgh and then win 5 games a season for the next 4 years, before firing him. Good plan!A tie with Seattle would be so mediocre Mike setting up the path to 8-8-1
The standard
I don't really care if the Steelers make the playoffs. But I care a lot if the Packers make the playoffs, and the Steelers beating Seattle is key in the Packers getting in.
The Packers play on Sunday Night Football against the Vikes. So, the whole state of Wisconsin will be watching the 3 pm game on FOX, which is obviously Steelers vs. Seattle.
You have one job Pittsburgh. Beat Seattle. Then your feeling sorry for themselves fan base can go back to their loser mentality of wanting to lose for better draft position, or whatever it is you all are whining about at this time.
An obviously horrendous call by the refs in the Steelers and Packers game handed Pitt a W, so the least the Steelers could do is show up and take care of business in Seattle.
Stop whining and let's F'n Go Pittsburgh!

Still butthurt over Super Bowl 45 I see. We will all pray for you.**** off.
Ask yourself who the Packers were going to replace Mike McCarthy with because McCarthy and Tomlin basically had the same resume except McCarthy had better playoff success. The "Fire everyone" crews are always so funny. Weak trolling.Still butthurt over Super Bowl 45 I see. We will all pray for you.
Great fan base ya got here Steelers fans.
How embarrassing.
I'm not saying you should NEVER replace a head coach. Sometimes the message grows old and it's time to move on. Perhaps that is the case in Pitt, but as I said, who do you want to replace him? Don't just say fire everyone. That is what I find amusing.Ask yourself who the Packers were going to replace Mike McCarthy with because McCarthy and Tomlin basically had the same resume except McCarthy had better playoff success.
We have tackled this who to replace him with in another thread before. There really is a decent amount of interesting options out there.I'm not saying you should NEVER replace a head coach. The Packers hired Matt LaFleur in 2019. Matt LaFleur went to 2 straight NFC Championship games after McCarthy's Packers were 6-9-1 in 2018. Matt LaFleur has 56 wins in less than 5 years as head coach of the Pack.
If Matt LaFleur gets the Packers in the playoffs this year he will get coach of the year. A first year starting QB and the youngest team in the NFL.
If the Steelers can find a Matt LaFleur, then by all means move on from Tomlin. Brian Gutekunst has a lot to do with what goes on in Green Bay as well. Not sure Tomlin has a great GM in Omar Khan. We will see what happens.
This is why I asked who you want to replace Tomlin?

You suggested the Steelers would only be able to get an unqualified candidate for a head coach in Kellen Moore. We have other threads with pretty extensive lists of candidates we'd like to see interviewed.I'm not saying you should NEVER replace a head coach.
