We need a new Head Coach.......FIRE TOMLIN NOW!!!

Full agreement. He ruined the offence by hiring Todd Haley, drafted terrible players on defense, no good offensive linemen, defensive backs suck! This is not Steeler football with no defense and our passing game consisting of little flair passes in the backfield or in the flat. Terrible coaching on both sides of the ball! FIRE ALL OF THEM, and get a new defensive coordinator. No disrespect to him, but it is time to retire.

Well.......im a Tomlin supporter, but i will grow impatient if theres another lackluster season...........but im still not puttin this all on him.

There are times when players tune coaches out............happens in all sports..over time their effectiveness in motivating fades....happens to the best of coaches (eg Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Mora, Andy Reid, Kubiak and its happening to Tom Coughlin now).

But im also one that thinks LeBeau has been left behind by the game and its past time for him to hang it up.

One coach id like to take a long look at is Kevin Sumlin. He may opt to stay in the collegiate ranks but if he'd listen, id give him a call. Im not sold on any Gruden, Cowher aint comin back, Marty's days are over..............

Coaches draft the players! This is the worst group of talent the Steelers have ever had in my memory. I never thought Cowher was a great coach, but the man could definitely pick some talented defensive players. This is a horrible brand of football with Todd Haley as offensive coordinator and a defense that lacks pass defenders. Gotta go, starting to feel sick just thinking about what our team has become.

The 3-4 needs two things a nose tackle and a pass rusher we have neither. Jarvis gets called out and justifiably so. But he has faced some pretty good LTs so far. Who in the **** has Worlids faced???

Let's face it, Tomlin is not going to get fired now or at any point during the season. But I certainly think that the Rooney's need to re-evaluate his position at the end of the season if we miss the playoff's for a 3rd straight season. He's had time now to put his stamp on the team and from what I've seen, it's pretty ******. We are extremely undersized on defensive line and LB and old at DB. The guys he's brought in either via the draft or FA are not impressing me. I thought defense was his forte?

Not really. He had spent one season as a coordinator and his D was mediocre that year, 31st against the pass.

Exactamundo! Seattle (which if you add an 'R' and add another 'E', remove a 'T' and an 'A', you can spell Steeler) is playing old style Steeler football. SF is a close second! Bam, wham, with a body slam (whoops, that's a 15 yarder!)!

might as well post this again,

Can someone answer me these questions?!?

1.) Is it really that devastating or unbelievable that the Steelers lost on the road to the Ratbirds?

2.) How many of you saw this game on the schedule and said "Oh yea, thats an easy W right there!"

I had the 'fortune' of going to the game last night- that stadium was loud as hell. We all thought the Ray Rice ordeal was a distraction when all it did was galvanize their squad and fans.

So- please stop it with the hyperbole.

Besides Bell running, what did you see in that game that makes you optimistic about the rest of the season? I sure as **** didn't see much. The last 6 quarters of football, we have been totally manhandled on BOTH sides of the ball.

1. Most of the games against the teams is a close game. This was a beat down. It isn't devastating (please stop the hyperbole) or unbelievable. It just tells us where this team is right now. The rats got beat last week on their field by the bungles. Did you really think the Steelers would fail to score a TD? The rats aren't that good but they still won by 20 points. That's the problem.

2. Nobody said that at all. How many saw it as an easy loss? How many saw it as a 20 point blowout?

The issue isn't the loss as much as it is understand that they lost to a team that isn't that good by 20 points. That's the real issue.

BTW do you expect to go into Carolina and win? How about Cinn? So I expect that you picked the Steelers to go 8-8 this year right?

In spite of your 'feelings', the team is still 1-1. No different than what almost everyone would have predicted.

Even if we would have blown out the Browns by 30 points, and only lost to the Rat's by 3, IT WOULD MAKE NO DIFFERENCE.

Maybe having Lance will help the offense? Maybe Archer will come back and have that HR potential? Maybe Gilbert just had his worst game against a team that was pumped? Maybe Jarvis and the other younger defenders continue to develop?

Who f*cking knows?!? I sure as hell dont, and neither do any of you 'sky is falling' pansies.

I choose to hope for the best, and wont write the season off after one loss that many predicted would occur anyway

Just remember, moral victories aint ****.

1-1

Did you predict it? Where? I didn't see your post in the "Prediction" thread.

Oh give me a ******* break, are you actually paying attention to the product on the field? Are you? Cut the sanctimonious bullshit, those of us who are fed up have a goddamned right to voice our displeasure, this **** football is becoming ridiculous. 1-1, he says. yeah, after surviving by the hairs on our sacks vs Cleveland (at HOME) and then getting whipped by a pedestrian ravens team that has been mired in turmoil. this has to be one of the worst 1-1 steelers teams I've ever seen after after the 1st 2 weeks of the season.

1 and 1 he says!

Did you predict it? Where? I didn't see your post in the "Prediction" thread.

Naw, I did not participate. I should go ahead and do that now.

I did not, however, predict a Steelers W, in the predict the score thread. Just felt like a tough game that the Ravens HAD to win.

I took the train down to M&T and the entire city/stadium was rallying. They were definitely pumped.

Bro, what dont you understand? It doesnt fcking matter how you feel: We are still 1-1!

The 2011 Giants BARELY snuck into the playoffs with a 9-7 record.

Was it pretty? No. Did that fcking matter? NO!

We have a young team- I expect some volatility. So in that respect, I can understand your concern. But some of you are taking this a bit too far. The fact that we have a "Fire Tomlin" thread after the 2nd game of the season says exactly that...

My problem with Tomlin is he has spent most of his tenure using high draft picks to build up the line backing corp and we don't have any thing to show for it.

Finally, a real football post/concern.

I can halfway agree with your point. Its only been the last 2 years that our LB's have been *****.

Timmons and Woodley were terrific- there is no denying that. It is really hard to have predicted the downfall of Woodley, though.

Timmons has always been sporadic. He just doesn't have anyone to cover it up now. They lost Farrior, Harrison and Foote over the past two years and the replacements of Worilds and Jones isn't getting it done. It's too early to tell about Shazier. The OL is filled with 1st and 2nd round picks and they are horrible against any pass rush at all. They've given up 5 sacks in two games.

Yeah. 'Cause we've never seen that discussion before.

So youre basically saying that this board is laden with mindless bitching? Most of which has little to do with actual football?

Uh, no....I'm not "basically" saying anything. I am saying without ambiguity that "fire Tomlin" is not new nor does the "The fact that we have a "Fire Tomlin" thread after the 2nd game of the season" surprise me. I don't know why you inferred what you did from what I typed.

I don't think it's time to send him packing, but his input in the draft room needs to be severely limited. 3 1st and a 2d rd LB = zero QB pressure and the worst run defense I can remember in 40 years. 2 1st and 2 2d rd OL= no running game and piss poor pass protection. This looks like a 4-6 win team; I don't trust him with a top 8 pick.

The difference between Cowher and Tomlin is Cowher immediately came in and put his stamp on 7-9 team, drafting Searcy, Kirkland, steed, Brown, Perry, Buckner, Gildon, bringing in Greene, Seals, etc. His down years were the Noll and his early picks aging and having to rebuild, but the Rooney's knew he could build and find talent, he did when he was first hired.
