I'm not sure why this is so complicated, the more players that leave that were drafted before Tomlin the worse we get.
Compare the starting line-up of our 2008 team to what we have now, has Tomlin improved one group from then? Hell has he improved one position from then? DE's-no, NT-hell no, any of LB positions-no, DB's no, 2 of the 4 are still there, and one is your best player still. QB-same, WR's no, TE-same, C and RG-i think we are better now.

A ******* men

I am no fan oc Tomlin. I was patient, but he has proved to be sub par as a head coach in the nfl. His drafts have sucked too. I know there are others providing input on drafts and game plans and such but tomlins time is up. His teams get worse every year.

The difference between Cowher and Tomlin is Cowher immediately came in and put his stamp on 7-9 team, drafting Searcy, Kirkland, steed, Brown, Perry, Buckner, Gildon, bringing in Greene, Seals, etc. His down years were the Noll and his early picks aging and having to rebuild, but the Rooney's knew he could build and find talent, he did when he was first hired.

Actually Noll's players didn't age under Cowher. Most were gone within the first few years. Woodson wasn't old when he left. Just 2 years into his career Cowher had already replaced 6 of the 11 players on defense and 6 on offense. Cowher is losing Noll players to FA as well. By the time he is in his 8th season (like Tomlin now) every player on the team is his. Most of Noll's players are gone within a few years.

Black Reign is an idiot. No further.

So says the man who calls himself turbo pig. It's obvious you are one of the resident protesters who can't accept an opinion that differs from yours so you resort to childish name calling. Nothing new here.

might as well post this again,

Can someone answer me these questions?!?

1.) Is it really that devastating or unbelievable that the Steelers lost on the road to the Ratbirds?

2.) How many of you saw this game on the schedule and said "Oh yea, thats an easy W right there!"

I had the 'fortune' of going to the game last night- that stadium was loud as hell. We all thought the Ray Rice ordeal was a distraction when all it did was galvanize their squad and fans.

So- please stop it with the hyperbole.

1) No.
2) Not me.

Now answer my questions:

1) Would you classify being outscored 50-9 in the last six quarters as devastating?
2) Would you have found the above result to be unbelievable if someone had predicted it?

Fans being this upset with the Steelers getting completely dominated by mediocre (or less) teams isn't hyperbolic; it's completely accurate, and warranted. Many of us have been able to see the writing on the wall with Tomlin for quite some time. Now, it's begun to crystallize in plain view for others.

see for me it isn't just this season..........

I have seen the Steelers lay too many eggs under Tomlin, and you look around some other coaches have their teams for the majority of the time ready to play.

This team isn't prepared for well ****.

It can't adjust, the points scored against already is alarming.

The O's playcalling has been comical.

I really think Tomlin has lost the team...........

I agree slashsteel. First Arians, now Haley - horrible game plans go unchecked and unaltered. Who thinks any of the elite coaches would let bad game plans go unchecked for years on end?

Better late than never i suppose..

How long has it been since I said this ******* needs to go?

What's ol' billy parcells up to these days?:D

Or, or! Hear me on this...maybe we could convince jimmy johnson that the best way to REEEEALLY get back at Jurra, would be to go work for one Dallas' most bitter rivals, the Steelers. Get him to buy into the idea of getting Pittsburgh back to a standard of excellence that we demand

Last year we lost to some really bad teams. I suppose that makes us a bad team. Time is up on Tomlin.

Look at this coaching staff:
Tomlin, LeBeau, Haley, Munchak--all former head coaches. Mitchell, Lake and Butler have shown to be quality positional coaches, but something is not clicking right now.

There is a clear lack of direction, which we have seen for years on offense. The Steelers seem to have drafted more players to fit what they want to do on offense, but the defense has turned into a train wreck. The foundation of the 3-4 is the nose tackle and stopping the run. They have put zero effort into replacing Casey Hampton and instead built from the outside in and put small, finesse linebackers behind a line that cannot dominate the point of attack.

Another year out of the playoffs and you need to make a change both in the front office and with the coaching staff. I still have hope that this season can turn around, but based on recent history, I don't know how much faith I have anymore.

The most disappointing thing is that the Steelers changed the defense so they could match up better with quick strike passing teams. Instead now they can't stop the run or the pass. They were better off at least stopping the run.

They could stop the run, prevent against the big play and get to the quarterback. It may have frustrated us when we played quick passing teams, but the "bend but don't break" defense worked out just fine.

THE STANDARD AND IS THE STANDARD! And Mike Tomlin no longer meets the standard to be the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers! The sooner the Rooney's and the Steelers front office realize this the better off this franchise will be.

For the past 4 years now we've seen this team poorly prepared for gameday! From 2011 and the debacle in Denver vs Tim Tebow to tonights blowout loss to the Ratbirds.....this team can no longer afford an ill prepared coach like Mike Tomlin on gameday. There is talent on this team there always has been but this team has underachieved every year for the past four years under Tomlin. He reminds me more and more of a guy like Wade Phillips.

I'm sick and tired of seeing young rookies sit on the damn bench for years before they sniff the field. Yet we always hear about how the Steelers Defense is so difficult to learn, blah, blah, blah. This defense isn't much different than what Dom Capers had here years ago and he has rookies starting all the time on the Packers D. The Packers this season have 4 rookies starting week 1 this season in the NFL including their starting LT protecting their franchise QB in Aaron Rogers.

We have Tuitt, & McCullers who are as good if not better than most of our starting DL and yet Tuitt barely plays and McCullers is inactive. I know McCullers is green but put the kid in there so you know what you have by seasons end and they can build on their experiences instead of keeping these guys on the bench. Most of our DL is better suited for a 4-3 Defense....so why don't they just transition to it.

Jason Worilds is a complete joke! I can't believe the Steelers paid this bum $10 Mil. Not to mention Marcus Gilbert....5 sacks given up in 2 games, plus several costly penalties in the first two games....a false start tonight and a holding penalty last week. And these are the guys getting paid the big bucks!

So frustrated with the team because they too talented of a team to play a **** game like this and continuously be an average NFL team.

I blame all of this on Tomlin....the guy has gotta go! Never any halftime adjustments by his coaching staff.....I know people said the same thing about Cowher early in his career but this is Tomlin's 8th year and this guy keeps getting worse and worse.

Combine his ****** coaching with the new ****** rules in the NFL that are really turning this game I love into a modified version of Flag Football and I'm ready to done with this ****!

Who would you suggest?

I stll think a lot of this teams problems stem from Tomlin being chummy with his players. To me, the best coaches are guys like Parcells, Noll, Jimmie Johnson, Lombardi... When you played for those guys, you knew you were on a short leash... Play the way I want or find the door... The constant mistakes this team makes only strengthens my belief that these guys see Tomlin more as a fellow teammate than a head coach.

Before you get all huffy and think I am standing up for the coaches, I am not. But it just isn't that simple.

How horrible is the game plan when you have wide open guys and ****** miss them? Everybody wants Ben to call the plays in the no huddle, but it's 10-3, 3rd quarter, you just held the Ravens. You begin a drive and Bell is doing a lot of damage. You get inside the 30, when Bell gets you a nice 6 yards on first. And you decide as a QB it is a good time, even though the running back is getting in rhythm, to pass, and better yet you take a ****** sack.

I am beginning to agree with you guys about a change in the coach. However, anybody they bring in you may have to realize will look at tape and also change the personnel, which may begin at the QB position.

That is a recipe to get fired if they want to get rid of Ben. All hypothetical, but that leaves a new coach with Gradkowski and Jones, because they are not spending big dollars in free agency on a QB. At that point, it is up to some luck to hope that a top QB in the draft is available at your pick.

Right. But think of the hypothetical new head coach. You want to come in and put your stamp on things. Do you want a QB who is getting older and really doesn't consistently show the ability to carry a team, or would you want to see what you could get for him and start over?

To add to that: there are very few good QBs in FA. The Broncos lucked into Manning a few years back but it is rare for a team to let a good QB leave. You really have to draft one.

They looked like garbage. Played like garbage. Looked lost and unprofessional. Im not mad or surprised they lost.. Im pissed and shocked how ****** they look.

Yep. The idiot thinks he's their best friend. He also makes decisions like a player. Dumb and emotionally based.

I never thought I would do this but at the Cleveland game when I saw Tomlin give fist punches to players after allowing Cleveland to tie the score I booed him. I have lost all confidence in him having the team ready to play.
