maybe next season he will fire DL and finally straighten this defense out.

How do players know the coached ****** up ? Exactly where did head coaching **** this game over ? Is there a scheme that was absolutely despicable ?
Ike and Troy missed tackles on a touchdown catch and run by Toon.....what role would players say Coaching (or lack of) played on this sequence ?

Really? unprepared? at what point do the players have to just go out and make the block. make the throw. make the catch. make the tackle? When does that happen?

Could a change at qb, a coaching move, have helped after Ben had jammed his wrist and been unable to do anything with it? Clearly Ben was not doing well and jamming his wrist was unlikely to help.

Poor game decisions as far as play calling and time management are on the coaches....so is not being prepared to stop what the other team is doing or making adjustments. But your QB throwing a shitload of horrible passes, receivers running incorrect routes or dropping balls, lineman getting physically dominated by their opponents, DB's completely blowing their assignments or biting on a double move and getting smoked....that is all on the players, plain and simple. How some people don't get that is completely beyond me. Coaches coach and players play. Might as well be yelling at Dan Rooney when Ben ***** up a pass or Ike gets beat like a mule after biting on a double move.

I don't think Dick LeBeau is the problem in all honesty. We have drafted fineness players since the Tomlin era began and we've lost the physical edge the Steelers always had over their opponents. We have no players who no longer strike fear into opposing offenses! Even Timmons is a fineness guy......never been better than average in run support! Taking Shazier over Mosley in the 2014 Draft IMO is just further proof they want quick speedy LB'ers who fit the mold of a fineness defense instead of guys who can absolutely lower the boom on an opposing RB and impose their will on an opponent.
I'm not sure how much influence LeBeau has on the Draft but Tomlin and Colbert have really dropped the ball on the Defensive Secondary for the past 3 seasons and letting Keenan Lewis walk in Free Agency should have made drafting a DB a top priority in the NFL Drafts the past 3 drafts. Watching our last playoff game (Tebow to Thomas 80yd TD) it should have become a top priority at that point to take a DB in the first or second round the last 3 seasons and Tomlin & Colbert have almost completely ignored the need at DB....drafting an undersized Shamarko Thomas in the 4th rd & Terry Hawthorn in the 5th round in 2013. You can blame LeBeau all you want but to blame LeBeau IMHO when he hasn't had any new talent drafted back there to help the pass defense to me is just like killing the messenger.
That defense or lack or it all falls on Tomlin & Colbert IMHO because they haven't drafted early enough to attempt to replace older guys like Ike Taylor and then to let Keenan Lewis walk while we resigned Cortez Allen & Marcus Gilbert just makes me wonder....what the hell is going on up there!!!

There are plenty of examples of coaching changes improving the performance/consistency of QBs later in their careers. Look at what Jim Harbaugh and Andy Reid have done for Alex Smith.
Philip Rivers had a couple bad seasons in a row in 2011-2012, prompting many to think he was done. The Chargers fire Norv Turner, hire Mike McCoy and River's career is revived.
It's within the realm of possibility that there's a coach out there who could level off the peaks and valleys of Roethlisberger's play.

There has to be some separation. The coaches don't set foot on the field. I truly think our defense is a complete lack of talent. Maybe one or two of them would play significant snaps on a good defense. Today a great quarterback abused them, it wasn't a shock. Our loaded offense struggling against a defense almost as bad as ours was the bigger problem. The coaches are ultimately going to be held responsible for what happens on the field, but football almost always comes down to who are the better players in a given match up. Their offense did what they were supposed to do and ours didn't. Ball game.
Delete that other thread....I'm really just trying to figure out what direction Tomlin has this team going in because I honestly am sitting here shaking my head. Sorry for the multiple threads just trying to create a discussion. Delete that other damn thread. I would if I could but I can't.
