Week 17 Game Thread

Jones has been very solid today at RT.

Hopefully the Steelers get more urgency in the 2nd half. Seattle is like: "Here, you can have this game." Steelers like: "Nah, bruh, you got this."

Let's F'n Go!
You guys are 7-8. Maybe if your guys handled their business they wouldn’t have to rely on someone else.

Rudolph has had a good showing these past two weeks. Oline and running game have looked more efficient as a result.

Something I noticed with Rudolph is he sells the delayed hand off quite well. It’s helping Warren and in turn compliments Najee.

Now if only the WR’s can hold onto the ball

Washington is as a slow as molasses. That should be Freiermuth's job. He was excellent in the red zone in college and a big target as a rookie.
I agree, but because Washington has been used mostly to block he could surprise them as they expect the ball to go to Muth but not him.

" We are aware that Darnell's arrow could be pointing up...if you will...but we are not urinating on the fire this early in our journey. We will force his hand into the pile and surprise our opponent when we get to the Super Bowl...obviously.----Mike Tomlin Football 101

Mason has been at the helm for best 3 halves of offensive football on the year for us
Just maybe those willing to give Rudy a CHANCE, were right. Not saying he is a franchise QB, but he should have gotten a legitimate shot.

Just maybe Rudy gets it done for a year or two, and Kenny puts it all together and takes over.

Two things of note (not Steeler-related):

1. The Rats showed their hand too early. Miami will be ready should they meet again in the POs.
2. Arizona is obviously better than their record - they took down the Eagles today; so, I'm still sore about losing to them but, hey, they get paid to play too.

What can you say? I mean the proof is in the pudding so far. 17 points is the bottom line. We’ve been lucky to get 3-7 points for the last 3 years. It’s far from over. Seattle is a second half team. We need to stay play calling aggressive. A few more playaction passes. Obviously keep running till they stop us. But w3 still have to chuck it down the field a bit.

The offense looks like an nfl offense with him under center. He’s doing the intricate portions of the position better than Trubisky and Pickett at the moment.

Just overall a better awareness in what to do.

Bottom line, Muth needs more touches, Washington is blocking well tho

I agree 100%.

The fact that he was held back speaks of a coach with screwy priorities for, IMO. He might be a guy who keeps a 2nd tier punter over good ones, or something like that.

And don't make me bring up the backwards pass that was ruled forward incorrectly, handing the Steelers the win vs. Green Bay.

And the Packers win out and it's like 95% chance they get in, even if Seattle wins today. The Steelers beating Seattle just makes the Packers last two games win and in.

Why throw when you are running it down their throats

This is an entire season thing. No I wouldn't throw it either running it like that, but they've been chicken **** to throw the ball in the endzone all year.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe THIS week Picket will pick up on it perhaps.

Lol. Crying now. 😢

I will admit I had little faith in him as his biggest weakness was the intermediate game. So I figured when they take away Pickens the jig is up. When I saw him over throw DJ on an out pattern last week I said Yep...this doesn't look good. I was wrong he's made some good throws on the medium stuff this game. He's obviously worked on his weaknesses.

Late game starting QBs
Mahomes
Jake Browning
Mason Rudolph
Geno Smith
Jared Stidham
Easton Stick
Just remember, in the offseason, when they decide to legalize offensive holding in the pocket, it’s because defenses adjusted and were sacking qbs too much for the networks liking

I attribute this to poor development of the QB position. This might mean it takes an extra year or two to get the starter battle ready. Maybe because of this Rudy is starting to look capable, maybe the same happens with KP.

I think the Rats said **** you to Miami. You bunch of posers.
And probably can’t wait to play them again. With the same result.

Friermuth and Washington need to be targets more. The running game is providing those opportunities for them.
Running game is providing the opportunity for WRs also. Need to find that perfect spot for the play action now.

5 years of reps!..lol. I'm happy he's showing out so far.

Tough to foresee that happening, but an interesting thought

I’m afraid the deck will be stacked again against Rudolph in camp again in favor of Pickett by Tomlin, not right but that’s probably reality if Tomlin is the coach

Baltimore dominated every good team they played. The point differential I saw reported today was ridiculous. They're by far the best team in the NFL right now.
