Week 17 Game Thread

šŸ˜‚ No one has ever thought Mason Rudolph is quarterback #1. These games have been flukes who in their right mind would have said Mason Rudolph was the best quarterback on the roster. Not one human being and thereā€™s a reason why and thatā€™s because Mason got beat out by Duck Hodges in 2019 and we all saw it then. He has had ample opportunities to become a starter and Kenny only has less than two seasons.
Puff, puff, pass...you're phuckin' drunk.

Thereā€™s your proof.

Is that how it works? Someone get future hall of famer Tim Tebow on the phone quickly!

Maybe Tomlin can coax him out of retirement...LOL.

Pickett showed one year at Pitt. His overall interception to TD ratio was terrible, and it looks very similar with the Steelers.
We need a QB... he's not currently on this roster.

Rats hanging 42 on the Phins.
Iā€™m thinking we need to hire the other Hairball brother.
That OC has did really well. I would put him in HC consideration.

Overdrafted ?
If KP8 gets three or four years before we make that call, let's give JPJ at least a season and a half.
*Not saying that you are for giving Kenny that much time.

I think Pickett was leading the league in pass attempts w/o an int, but he is also not throwing TDs. Some of that is not on him though. Its hard to say how Kenny would have played the last couple games. We know he had a good game against Cinci last time they just couldnt score. If the line protected Kenny all year like they did Mason, then im sure kenny would have looked better. Would he have played as good as Mason who knows, but these were also basically career games for Rudolph as well. Another thing to consider is Kenny has been battered all year so he is going to naturally be more gun shy and have the happy feet. Rudolph had the luxury of coming in fresh against 1 awful defense and a pretty bad one.

With Mason at the helm.... I am hoping we do squeeze into the playoffs. Hopefully, the D can step up as much as the Offense has of late.

PART of that OL playing / protecting Mason is (several OL have commented) that Mason stands in the pocket and they KNOW where he is going to be. Easier to protect when they know where he is at. Better pocket presence.

Kennyā€™s ā€œhappy feetā€ contributed to ā€œwhere the **** is heā€ making it hard to protect him. I donā€™t think Kenny was fixing his ā€œhappy Feetā€ this season as he has said he canā€™t learn anything from the sidelines. Side3lin es seems to be where he will be hanging out.

Actually, there were a few that thought MR was the better QB on the roster. There were even some of those that wanted to go with him instead of adding MT. It was obvious to some that MT was NOT the answer, and KP wasnā€™t really ready yet, and were willing to go with MR to start last year.

Once Tomlin made the switch to KP last year, it was going to be his spot until they were done with him forever. MR never got a legitimate chance @ QB1 or QB2, for some reason. This just PROVES that Tomlin AND his staff have no idea when it comes to QB evaluation or development.

I have always wanted to see MR at least get a fair shot, now that Tomlin has been PROVEN wrong, I would not even entertain an offer to stay if Tomlin is still the HC.

Here you go. This is it in a nutshell

If they win next week Rudy is in the perfect spot.
1. HE gets them into the playoffs after going 3-0
2. They donā€™t make the playoffs, it wasnā€™t HIS fault, he was 3-0 when given the chance.

The question would be does he want to play here or not next year?
If he plays well again next week he will have some options, Tomlins done him pretty dirty over the years

not really

he has kinda sucked over the years

KP is a draft bust being propped up by optimistic people and his 1st round pedigree. He's no better than a sweed or Malone or Archer and won't be around here much longer with his talent & attitude

Mason has changed the dynamics of the offense with those nuances. Itā€™s helped a lot

Who? No one is saying ā€œhey, I told you so?ā€ Except Andrew Dice Clay apparently.
