Here we are, WEEK 8, nearly 1/2 through what many thought would be an agonizing season...............
NY Giants are not a very good team. They have a very bad offense, a little bit better defense (but not good), and on the road against a Tomlin led (23-1 on prime time Monday night appearances at home), STEELERS football team. Giants have several injuries, even to their backups, making it very hard for them to produce anything consistent. This should be a 35+ burger in favor of our beloved STEELERS team................ UNTIL.............. you start looking deeper into history. Tomlin's teams have been known to play down to the competition, have been known to not take things seriously against weaker teams, become undisciplined while forgetting fundamentals........................................... UNTIL................... You look at that impressive Monday Night Football W/L record at home. Add in the new QB starter and players playing with fire under their asZ, I think there will be a "W" linked to this MNF game as well.
NY who, like I said W-H-O, can't name QB or defensive star but do know they beat t*mmyb*y in the SB---------------------- 12.5
Mr. Wilson, Mr.Watt gets triple teamed, is there a Bishop in the house, Mike Tomlin, Mr.Smith, -------------------------------- 41.5
Tie Breakers
1) Russ Wilson Completion / Attempt total (example 24 / 38)
2) Jaylen Warren receiving yards combined with Najee Harris rushing yards------- total
3) I'm putting concrete base with spaced post(s) going in around my apple & pear tree orchard, it is a rectangle 80ft x 30ft, How many post(s) will I be erecting ?
Some have indicated they like hearing some of my Live Free Happy Life experiences, so I'll add this story of survival, that's right, SURVIVAL.
Update: Background information, This all took place Nov. 12, 2004. My dog Sugar, was a white Sheperd and wanted nothing but to please me. She loved riding anything, backhoe, motorcycle, 4-wheeler and she always rode in front, feet on gas tank butt in my lap. Outdoor temperature was 3 F (keep this in mind throughout whole story, cold). Sugar and I were taking a ride on the 4wheeler around my place. Occasionally she likes to be let off just so she can run, I let her off and she runs front / back / explores. She was behind me and I gunned it to get her moving and she took off flying. She passed me (around 20mph) and cut fast Infront of me. Not going to run her over I jam brakes hard and veer hard right only to have my momentum carry me over an 8-10ft cut bank, landing near upside down in about 5ft of water. It's a cold-water river, I manage to flip quad over and of course the tires allow it to float. I float it into entanglement of a downed tree so as it would stay put. I manage to get out of river and up to bank, I know I don't have a lot of time before hypothermia becomes critical. I start running towards my house about 1 3/4 miles away. I can't run full speed as I'd run out of strength, but as I was running, I dropped my heavy wet jacket but kept my wet sweatshirt and gloves on. My hair had turned to ice, my pants were starting to stiffen from ice. Sugar kept after me to keep going (bless her and dogs have that sense about them in time of need). It was excruciatingly cold and my senses were fast leaving (hypothermia). I could see house1/4 mile away and took wet sweatshirt off while keeping moving forward, by this time it was not running and more like one foot Infront of the other as Sugar kept me going. A couple hundred feet from the door I took shirt and gloves off ( i felt warmer without them) only slow walking. I get to door and inside, dang neared passed out and broken. I cant get shoes or pants off as they Iced to me. I managed to get in shower and enough wit about me to turn ONLY cold water on. I layed there for a long time it seemed and finally could get shoes untied and cloths off. I gradually increased water temperature ( I have a tankless water heater so never run out of hot water). Over an hour+ in the shower and I could move and think clearly. The next day I went down to get 4 wheeler out of river and was successful. Along the way I walked my exact wet stressed route and found I had stopped about 6 times, found various clothing or weight me down items (some with teeth marks where Sugar was tugging me to keep going). 4 wheeler just needed a little wrenching and it started up with no problems. This was a pretty close call, but sometimes you need extreme circumstances to find out who you are.... deep down inside. Thank the lord many times for the strength and the dog needed. Side note: when we went out to go for a ride, the temperature was 3 F, but was dropping steadily. I truly think is was about 5 below zero Fahrenheit when this occurred. Also 4+ inches of snow on the ground.
Thanks for reading my story and may the HEAT stay with you.
PS Get tuned and ready, the bye week will have a prediction thread to win the non-prize week earlier in the season.
Always, take a moment and thank slash for the out of his pocket expense of prizes and postage, THANK YOU slash, not just for the prizes but also the comradery.
