So I watched the Pens vs the Ducks last night and completely missed Thursday night football. I actually forgot there was TNF until someone text me to ask about fantasy football. I missed MNF to change oil in my car and again I did not miss it. So far this season excluding Steelers I have only watched 2 football games. I much prefer watching the NHL over the NFL and in fact the more I think about it, I actually enjoyed MLB over the NFL. I really think I am going to limit myself to only Steelers games for the NFL and get my football fix with High School and College and when or if there's an NFL boycott to change the rules to pre-Goodell I will be the first to stop watching. The game is so pussified, the refs are clueless, there's more commercials than game, the players are thugs, the owners are tax dodging hypocrites. ******* Rooney's vote for Obama and drive my taxes up while the Steelers are tax exempt! Hire a black coach to be "progressive" and ruin my team.

I will cheer for the Steelers but I am not taking trips to see them play anymore and I am not going to endulge the NFL in watching other games since it usually drives up my blood pressure at how god awful the refs are. I am not done with the NFL but I would say I am putting on my jacket and hat.

3 things will always keep me glued to the NFL. 1. Steelers...just a monster fan. The team is such a fabric of the city/nation that it is impossible to not follow them. 2. Gambling...I am in a bunch of office pools and I just love trying to win the week and get some cash. 3. Fantasy Football...pretty much the same reason as #2. No matter what God-ell does to destroy the game, I simply will never walk away.

Steeler Sundays used to be the fabric of my life as well. Now they are simply a convenient weekend distraction. I haven't watched non Steeler games either. The past two years fantasy football was the only thing keeping me interested in them. That's not even doing it this year. Of course that could just be because half my fantasy team was on IR by Week 2.

I don't know if it's due to the NFL's current state or that we've gotten older and priorities have changed.

probably a combination.

Yeah probably both. I do think Roger's NFL is a giant puss fest though.

I'm not the same diehard fan that I was a few years ago. Like some of you, I miss primetime games with no issue. Too late and too many commercials for my liking. I do still love watching the Steelers and RedZone channel, but that's about it.

I only watch the steelers and I have even been missing some of them. I think I will put in as much effort at watching as they do at winning and playing. I have no interest in fantasy football nor will I ever as it is one of the things that is ruining the game in my opinion. I do not gamble on games. The game is much less than what it was when I played in high school, and a mere shadow of its former self at the pro level. It has changed enough that it is no where near as interesting to me as it once was.

I would agree with the latter if it wasn't people of all ages that were getting disinterested... i know my priorities have changed but it wouldn't change my attitude towards the NFL... it is the Goodell regime that has turned me partially away.

This ^^^^^^^ I cant even watch Pro football if not the steelers.. And now even Steeler Games are tough to watch because they are so inconsistent and lacking intensity, discipline and leadership.

I definitely notice the age thing. I just don't get worked up nearly as much as I used to and when the weather is nice it bothers me to spend the afternoon inside. But I've also noticed the most entertaining games I've watched in the past five years or so tend to be college games, so I think the NFL has also somewhat ruined itself.

Pretty much.... I don't think age has as much to do with it as the whole intensity of the game is different for me. The college game is a far better product just by the ref-ing and the hits still allowed.

1. Will watch Steelers.
2. Nope...
3. Nope...

Subscribed to NFLST since the first year. Dropped it 2 years ago. Haven't bought a single thing for 2-3 years. The game has been ruined for those fans who loved defense.

I have most definitely lost a LOT of interest in the NFL. I only watch STEELERS games. I will always be a STEELERS fan, but the game itself has lost. It is so out of balance, in favor of the offense, is ridiculous. It was a game decided by two near equal matched identities, Offense & Defense. Now the balance is way way way to far in the offense favor. FF has contributed to this unbalance. Big money & the fix, has always been there. They use to be able to alter the game by use of the TV time out guy. Now days, they make you think the refs are so bad, that it is just a bad call. Reality is, A small combination of those calls, alter the game. Steering the game = Big Money. I don't gamble on NFL. I'm also finding Hockey to be better sports watching than the NFL. Same for MLB. Other armature sports are above the line also. I have so much steelers stuff, I can go the rest of my life not purchasing anything and still have more than most. LOVE the STEELERS, Hate the NFL.

Salute the nation

Well said could not agree more. karma to you. It says I must spread it around before giving it to you again, been a lot of that lately, are the settings a bit out of adjustment?

I have only ever watched the Steelers since early childhood. I could give a rats *** about ******* fantasy football, gambling or any other team. I also hate the NFL for the bs cupcake candyass rules and for allowing the Patriots to **** us and many teams over for many years. I hate them for injecting bs political correctness into game commentary too....which is the pansy *** pussification of America at it's finest . It's football,******* hit someone...mano a mano

What kind of oil did you use? I have been using Pennzoil Platinum lately and my car seems to love it, according to a few websites I have seen you can easily go 9-10k miles on it.

[OT] I'm a gearhead and occasionally send my used oil to a lab to get tested. Tried several synthetics and Pennzoil Platinum always gave the best results in any of my family's cars. We have a lot of cars and I change a lot of oil. Only thing, you need a top-notch filter if you're going to run the oil that long, like a Mobil 1, K&N, or Purolator Synthetic. Pennzoil Platinum also usually costs a little less than Mobil 1. [/OT]

I use to live and breathe Steelers....literally, couldn't wait until Sunday. Planned my whole week around it. Grilled out, drank, got dressed up, etc. I love my steelers but Tomlin has ruined this **** for me. In the past years I expected to dominate defensively and watch Ben make ridiculous plays offensively. Now, I hope Ben doesn't get killed, our defense can hold the other team to like 20 pts, and we squeak out a win. Its changed for me alot over the years. My best memories are in the mid 90's with Lloyd, Greene, Woodson, Lake, Bettis, etc. Our defense was so fun to watch. Literally so fun. I knew every week the opposing QB was ******** his pants and our run game couldnt be stopped. If we lost it was a travesty....now if we lose, its like oh well, maybe next week. I hate that feeling.

I watch the Steelers when they are on free TV or I happen to be somewhere where I can get the game. When I have to miss a 1/4 or 1/2 it does not bother me any more. Hell, I missed part of the last game because my son likes going to batting cages. That was more entertaining anyway.

Would you ever thought that there would be comments by NFL fans and especially Steeler fans, on what the NFL is doing to so many. Ever since game six 2010 when Gödel went the fine route the game of football has taken a back seat to the side bar issues of the league. More concern on fines, suspensions, off field crimes than the game itself. Many mention age , well experience does count and the game has been watered down by stoppage of play and rules. Throw in the defense has almost been taken out of the game for total purpose of scores. The game is about stats and fantasy football leagues. I would not be surprised if they had a Super Bowl fantasy league championship , more audience would show up than the football game itself.
I have joined the many that watch the game and turn it off till the following game. I have made up my mind I'm not handing over anymore dollars to a league where the game is second in what is important to the league office. Don't yell on that one, I traveled to Pittsburgh for Cleveland and also went to North Carolina and Jacksonville. The Brown issue about the trading jersey did me in. What he should have done was given his jersey to one of the thousands of fans in Jacksonville.

mobile one full synthetic but I was thinking of going to royal purple. With mobile one I get 15k before a change and the oil still looks good when I change it. I heard you can go double that with royal purple.

I agree 100%. College football officiating is light years better than the NFL. The consistency is much better, they don't throw a hundred flags, the review is seamless and takes seconds not minutes.
