If you ever decided to leave the U.S., where would you like to live?
What about this new location draws you there?
Have you ever been to this place?

What is the biggest positive difference from the U.S.?
What is the biggest negative difference from the U.S.?

If not already answered in response to one of the previous questions, what cultural difference do you think would be most difficult to assimilate to?

What would be the financial benefit/cost of this move?

The Bahamas. One of the Exuma islands in the middle. Probably Staniel Cay. With a boat and a plane. That’s not so much to ask. The water is spectacular.

Israel.

Stayed at The Four Seasons in Great Exuma years ago, its now a Sandals Resort. It was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen.
Turks and Caicos also has similarly beautiful beaches, but they're currently having a serious drug crime problem.

Is it just the water? What else about the place appeals to you? Do they tax boats? Do they tax income? Can you expect to survive on your expected retirement income?

I forced, I would choose New Zealand. South end of the north island, west side, or north end of south island, west side.

We are pretty of the live and let live mindset, so all the loony politics would probably make for a bad ending. Until that time came, I would be living in heaven, while enjoying the weather and the outdoors. Been there a number of times, won’t find nicer people anywhere, though they do have to many socialist leanings.

If not New Zealand, then one of the Atolls out in the S Pacific.

Some remote european country side or Japan.

I’m drawn to those european cottage country sides just cause it looks peaceful.

I have Japanese ancestry. I’d like to learn more customs and live in an old style shinto castle

I would never life anywhere other than the good old US of A.

One of those tiny little towns in England. One with 3 pubs and not much else.

Other than a vacation to Southeast Asia in 1970, I really haven't seen much of the world.

Northern Italy or Switzerland maybe, or some remote Polynesian island.

Finland. In a snowy cabin on a mountainside, near ski slopes.

I really enjoyed Switzerland, Germany and Northern Italy...the food and scenery were wonderful. Not better than the USA...just a little different.

I've been to Zug, Switzerland. Stunning town. Good choice.

Any one of a few different cities in Italy. Been there.
Trestevere section of Rome, Siena, or Cinque Terra.

Positive difference: Art and history, beautiful ladies.
Negative: Graffiti, not always clean, some things are expensive.
Most difficult: Can't carry a gun.

Yeah you better look into how authoritarian the NZ government is first.

For me it would be Thailand or Eastern Europe.

I wouldn’t mind living in the Maldive islands, or the northern part of Finland with some of the most beautiful scenery ever.

I was in Basel, Switzerland a few months back , beautiful town right on the border of Germany.

I would love to see all these places. I only want to live here as long as I’m allowed to continue my freedoms which NO other county has.

I know the NZ Government’s issues, that is why I would expect my stay to end badly. I would still enjoy it till that time though. I have also been to Thailand about 10 times more than I really wanted to.

My own Space Station would work for me or a deserted tropical island. Perhaps 6 months in each.

Bodo, Norway. I did cold weather training up there for a week and then we got to spend another week in a support role to the Marines. The scenery was beautiful, the people were incredible, and the food was amazing. I've never slept so well or felt more relaxed than when I was there. I remember the second night sleeping in a snow hole watching the Northern lights dance above me for about 20 minutes. It was magical. The background screen on my personal computer is of Bodo.

In the evenings a buddy and I would go to a small local coffee shop and sit in these amazingly soft (Butter) leather chairs by a wood fire listening to local music similar to classical music but with some jazz overtones. Man, to go back and relive those two weeks.
