Why is Matt Canada employed?

Under the watchful eye of Tomlin, and all of his NFL wisdom, we have become what the Cleveland Browns used to be.
At least in Clevland a HC only lasted a few seasons....here we will have Tomlin around for many many more years.

Bengals' LB Germaine Pratt says the Steelers' offense is too predictable.
"We knew what they were going to do. They like to do the same plays over and over."

Please fire Canaduh! How many opposing teams are going to say this crap about our O before someone gets a clue?
I had a feeling DK would ask about this. I also had a feeling Tomlin would answer the way he did.

It is always that choo choo, execution. Not that they should have changed some obvious things up.

I would like the owners to execute a better head coaching plan.

Hopefully just 2 more, then he expires........................

I totally hear you slash.

Notice Coach Tomlin never said anything about them knowing our plays prior to sanp as opposed to us knowing their plays before snap.

ALSO, anyone notice having Matt O'Canada on the payroll draws attention off our crappy DC & HC. The question is why ? ALL three need help in their jobs.

Last game the D was as healthy as possible, with an 80% Watt is enough to be a top 10 Defense. There's no excuse for getting so much points against, even with the 2 interceptions the execution in the red zone was bad. How does Perine gets 2 scores the same easy way?

Late game collapse of giving up a 92 & 97 yard drive for TDs. Unexcuseable

to be fair, the 92 yard collapse was in the 2nd quarter and the 93 yarder was in the fourth quarter.

Man I need a good BLT it is time.

Maybe if you say "execution", it keeps the players focused and working hard. If you single someone out, it gives players a scapegoat and might cause some locker room issues.

I tend to lean on offensive play calling, but your head coach saying that to the public is going to ripple through that locker room.

We don't shy away from the challenge of Matt Canada. That is for the weak minded. We embrace the challenge to lead men into battle. Obviously we have had some challenges, such as life in the NFL. We will continue to work on fundamentals to exact the kind of outcomes that we desire...
we do not live in our fears

One time I would like to hear him say they need to do a better job coaching and preparing the players for the game. Every time he talks about execution he's placing the blame on the players. He basically said they knew what the Bengals were doing and couldn't stop it.

Pretty much. I think just as much of the DC as the OC they both are hot garbage.

And there is the question that should come in the next Presser: "Coach Tomlin, in your long history with the Steelers, you must have experienced highs and lows with the effectiveness of your coaching staff as it shows in results on the field. Since you often publicly address the players' execution issues, can you tell us specifically how you address the valleys in the on fields results from a lack of effectiveness or execution by your coaching staff?"
more specifically:
"The Steelers defense, the highest paid in the league, seems prone to suffering long TD drives this season. Given the star power and on field leadership, many observers point to similar results from the DC's previous team. What steps have you taken to address this clear deficiency?"
"The Steelers offense has had very limited success for the past several seasons, with different OCs. This season, critics and opponents note a very basic simplicity that is easily overcome with gametime adjustments, as we saw clearly last week. What steps do you take in game to counter this, and how is the coaching staff held accountable for this poor production?"

Keeping Arthur Maulet on Tee Higgins was a big reason. Also, for as much flack as Bush has (deservedly) gotten, why is Spillane seeing the field? I think Bush has done enough to see a more increased role, and instead of trotting 41 to cover Perine, maybe Bush makes a play? Also, anyone notice the bunghole oline playing red rover with TJ Watt that went uncalled?

Did I dream this, or did Tomlin say he was "exercising patience" when asked about Canada earlier in the year?

Yes, infact a BIG fear is that O'Canada will be retained for two more years............ ****-ing pathetic.

Nothing will happen for the rest of the season so there is that "patience" being shown, but I think that "patience" is extended into possibly another year.

I can't say anything that hasn't been said in this thread but to ONL express a hidden fear.

I think Canaduh is staying past this year especially if Pickett and the O continue to grow and improve. Just like with Ben, they will be winning or improving in spite of Canaduh. The young guys are naturally improving. These young guys shouldn't have to tell the OC how to improve his offense. The OC should know how to do this.

DIC it’s all fun and games from here

KP baby hands will take baby steps forward, impossible to clearly evaluate under baby brained Canaduh

Week 17 the Rats will have playoff spot locked in…Canaduh unleashes hell and beats the crap out of the uninterested Rats breaking 30 pts for our 6th win

Week 18 the Stains get bested in a shootout 35-34 (Chubb rushes for over 200) Canaduh has a beautiful jet sweep go for a splash TD to seal the ever important 7th victory…CLE lets us win to seal our fate

And OBVIOUSLY Canada showed enough that Shades patience was brilliant and 2 more years of the syrup running uphill in Dec offense is needed

Would be machiavelic from the rats and turds to let us win. Lowers the draft spot and anchors Canada as the OC for a couple more seasons. The classic double slap
