If it were any other opponent; Trump would lose. It only took the Savings & Loan Crisis to keep George Bush from winning in 1992. The “recession” that in retrospect was a blip, was enough for Ross Perot to split the Republican base:

Clinton—43%
Bush—37.5%
Perot—19%

Just imagine if Perot, who dropped out but came back in & stayed out. Clinton would be a long forgotten name. He won in Electoral landslide but overall performed marginally better than Michael Dukakis. He certainly wouldn’t have overcome the 14M vote difference that Perot cost Bush.

FWIW: In 2000 Ralph Nader’s 97,000 votes in FL sure weren’t going to George W. Bush — and the economy was surging at that point.

In January, after 3.5 years of trying and making fools of themselves with false Russian collusion (though CNN could never elaborate on what that REALLY meant) and a sham of an Impeachment; the Dems were never weaker.

Then along comes COVID & the Dems loved it

So the Dems ACTUALLY pushed forward on destroying the economy & country—just to win an election straight up.

If Bush was upended in 1992 by a blip recession, Trump would have no chance with economic issues now.

But dammit it’s Joe Biden! The only reason people would vote for him is because they don’t like Trump.

Right now — the media is controlled by the left. Big Tech/social media profits off China’s literal slave labor and it’s in their interest to push anti-Trump (who is hard against China). His rant about Trump's propaganda event at Bedminster this weekend is a thing of beauty. Since the Trump base has veered so far right I doubt any of you care what conservatives think anymore, but I'll share it regardless.

I find it necessary to reach for the language and colorful colloquialisms of my native land, New Jersey, in order to express my feelings about today’s event in Bedminster. It was a ******* travesty. Truly. An utter ******* disgrace. The President of the United States of America stood behind the Seal of his office framed by American flags and his private club’s membership slurring and raving about his victimization. His titanic self pity was only exceeded by his dishonesty and uncontrolled lying.

His lying was only subordinate to his staggering idiocy, ignorance, ineptitude and incompetence. The incompetence, even after all this time, shocks the conscience. 162,000 Americans are dead and the economy is shattered. So many more will die. The evictions, foreclosures and small business closings are just beginning. We are in the early hours of one of the greatest tragedies in our countries history. None of it had to be, but it has happened because Donald Trump is President. His malice, stupidity, ego and insecurity are a lethal combination.

He has wrecked this country in less than four years. He has induced a national nosedive, a decline that is precipitous, dangerous and humiliating. The world is more dangerous. American soldiers are hunted like animals by Taliban killers who are paid bounties by Russian killers and Trump does nothing but kowtow to Putin and advance his agenda.

Trump has divided the country and pitted Americans against each other. He has loosed violence against peacefully assembled US Citizens and deployed militarized paramilitary forces to escalate tensions in American cities in the name of law and order when the real purpose and mission is to stoke the embers of chaos and create Fear.

Fear, built on a mountain of lies, is the Autocrats sword and shield. Trump stokes fear to abuse his power and press forward with his assaults on the rule of law, our essential institutions and our national comity all in the name of his corruption, aggrandizement and cult of personality.

It is a despicable hour in the life of this country. This will be ended because it must end. We will lose the country if Trump isn’t repudiated.

Make no mistake about the intentions of a President who is openly undermining the 231 year old tradition of American elections. He is undermining the legitimacy of the coming election with no regard for the consequences to liberal democracy here and around the world. Fascism didn’t rise in the thirties because it was strong. It rose because Democracy was weak. American Democracy is weak, decayed and led by an illiberal man who, if he could would cancel the election, lock up his political opponents, enrich his friends and remain in power for life.

I dunno. Democrats have used the tragedy in Covid-19 and the BLM movement against Trump. Covid-19 not only wrecked the best economy we ever had ( Trump's greatest strength ), it also took away his second greatest straight the ability to hit the road and draw crowds. This works perfectly for Biden, who loses a little credibility every time he speaks.


Democrats are all playing the race card, well they always do, but this time, they have a video to kick around. Republican media, if there is any has not shown the brutality of this movement, or called out the lies or narrtive of the far left, and that's dangerous.


If the election was held today, Biden would win. However he's such as weak candidate, Trump can close the gap and win re-election, but it's going to be a real fight. Trump is going to need to soundly beat Biden it the debate and hit the road as he did in 2016. One or the other might not be enough, it needs to be both. As soon as Biden picks the person who might be President, he needs to go all in, and let his people handle the press. No kids gloves.

Maybe so, he needs to make the case that his polices worked prior to Covid 19. Biden has a huge weakness. No one really likes him. He's really a 2nd or 3rd choice amount the left and only because they insist he's the only chance.

To win an election you need people wanting to vote for you as much as agains the other guy. Trump's loyal base, if it comes out in the same numbers can win him this election, and they don't show up in " polls ". On polls they then up as election draws near.

As for the sates, I think Trump takes FL demand TX. He could lose MI, but PA is a must.

Trump could have survived Covid if he was not all over the place. First he said it would magically disappear, then he did the travel ban (which was good) then he was back to mocking masks and fighting against his own task force. IMO where he really failed was not using the defense production act sooner and more widespread. We are like 5 months in and 3M has a 2-3 month lead time on N95s. That is ridiculous. Also trying to find any kind of basic isolation gown your looking at mid September to October. Trump also failed by not giving better federal guidelines. He did OK with BLM stuff except for the stupid church photo op incident. On a side note where has ivanka been at through all this? Have hardly heard anything from her
