Will Deshaun Watson get a Ben Roethlisberger-style Punishment, or a Pass?

It should be a year and then a re-evaluation to get reinstated just like drug users. More could come out or happen in that year but a year sure would be a good start.

If this comes to pass the internet is going to light up. It will easily make the clowns signing the worst decision in NFL history. And I will go on record in saying if it does come to pass he won't be the same version pre layoff. I think it might be more like ten games, 8 with good behavior.

The worst decision since passing a QB in the NFL draft, in favor of a Tight End in round one. That QB was Ben.

Even worse than passing on a HOFer. The guaranteed money involved in Watson's contract is a crazy amount. That type of money you don't give to a guy with his extensive issues. Not to diminish the passing on BigBen that was major dumbarsery as well.

Apparently, the NFLPA is going to use Kraft as an example of "lack of punishment" in defending Watson...interesting.
With Kraft there is no evidence that I heard it was forced. Kraft more or less hired a prostitute for a hand job. I dont think you can pin the sex trafficking angle on Kraft if that is really what was going on. If Watson hired people for a legit massage and tried to force them to do other things its not quite the same situation. I think what Watson is accused of becomes sexual assualt while Kraft is just a dirty old man paying to get off.

They can respond with Ben's situation that he was punished without charges.

Yes will certainly be interesting, but I think Watson is screwed no matter what. The league has no consistent standards. Ray Rice was black balled and Mixon did almost the same thing. Rice's was more dramatic of course, but Mixon still clubbed a female. Tyreek Hill / Peterson seem like they have 9 lives. Owners / coaches can seem to get away with whatever (unless your Gruden or Del Rio). Ridley gets suspended for a year for betting, but PED use you get 6 games for roids. The rules definitely need some tweaking

True but it is still illegal and with the owner of a team doing it, I would think the optics are even worse.

There was video of Ray Rice. It didn’t matter if these guys did the same thing or something worse because people didn’t watch it happen. It’s not a great standard for the NFL for handling discipline.

Well one thing is it isn't Godell issueing the penalties anymore. I believe there is a 3-person panel now that does the fines & suspensions.

How much influence the NFL has over them id arguable because the "GREED MACHINE" controls all regardless of what public vision is shown.

Watson is handing out the checks today. Only 4 women left unsigned. LOL. I still think he ends up getting less time than Ben did.

Im not so sure on that. Simply cause the Haslams just do not have the influence in the room other owners have. I also think the league is not happy about how they did his contract to circumvent punishment as well. And using Kraft seems far fetched. Kraft went to a rub and tug place once or twice right? this guy has some serial issues going on here. And i also highly doubt he stops either. The lighter the punishment the more likely he is to do something again.

I think it will be indefinite. Best option for the league in my opinion.

those checks are paid with browns money. It sounds dirty and filthy to me

I'm hoping and thinking it should be at least a year. But, the way the league has been and with so much nonsense being put forth by the league the past year or two, I can easily see them giving him a slap on the wrist. A slap on the wrist wouldn't surprise me in the least. A one-year suspension absolutely would surprise me.

Sounds more and more like the league tanked the hearing.. NFLPA basically using the Bill Clinton defense… well yeah i am technically her boss and sure at work I whipped it out and asked her to suck it, but I didn’t force her to and I didn’t harm her in any way (mental or emotional harm is ok if you are the right person, after all) so its ok…

I will be shocked if he gets more than a 6 game suspension. The league has been completely neutered with all things woke. Use anything woke as part of his defense and the NFL will fold like a cheap suit.

So like I said, the NFL tried to flub this… they want it to go away

This is exactly the duplicitous sexual assault/ harassment standards that aren’t really defined or standardized so it varies from case to case… particularly on money and fame, for some reason… lol…

If Watson was an executive and he did the same things to a subordinate, is that sexual harassment or assault?
The bare minimum is that Watson attempted to solicit prostitution from non prostitutes… this wasn’t just making sexual advances to someone unwilling.. it was getting a girl alone in a room intentionally then propositioning her in an awkward and compromising situation. It was predatory. If he walks I hope the Feminazis burn down the league office because honestly they deserve it…

Where are all those folks now.....the lack of moral character in the NFL and today's society will enable a guy who solicited sex from "employees" to "get off", to ****** over by those same former "employees" who are deciding that for a higher price, they can be bought. This is pimps and ****** enabled by lawyers and the NFL media spin folks, all funded by the stains.

For some strange reason, the Texans set this player up with ritzy hotel access for treatments. There must be a reason because teams employee specialists for just this type of treatment, build internal facilities, etc.
Someone from the Texans thought it necessary for the player to have NDAs or some type of privacy doc signed. Was it to protect the team or the player?. Do they do the same for a players dietician, outside trainers, etc.? There must be a reason.
The player would invite folks he found on SM media to this lair, and had to get a new invitee almost every week. For someone seeking therapeutic massage, that seems amazingly strange. There must be more details.
Over the course of a couple years, it appears that none of the invitees was able to create a sustainable working relationship. That means that even if the invitee found the "engagement terms" agreeable, the player did not sustain that relationship. This seems predatory, but I am naive in stuff like this.

I really do not understand why the media is not all over this. It seems like a similar lack of details with the Epstein/Maxwell debacle, where there were many, many victims and the media just conveniently ignores the perpetrators and participants and enablers.....
