It wasn’t the outcome that the Pittsburgh Steelers or Zach Banner wanted when they re-signed him following his injury lost season in 2019. He was supposed to come back healthy in 2020 and resume his starting right tackle position that he had won in 2019.
Instead Banner never filled recovered from his ACL surgery, and he’s continued to suffer set backs from his injury. Banner was released by the Steelers a few weeks ago because he’s still not recovered from his injury. The move also saved them 5 million on the salary cap.
Banner moved back to California last week. But he posted this message on his social media today:
Thank you for always being a real one Zach! We appreciate you and the kindness you brought to the Pittsburgh community. Good luck with wherever you go in life.
