Penguins *******!

Yeah, the officiating has been pretty one-sided for a while now. Can't remember the game, but even Steigerwald mentioned a few games back that the officials seemed to have started turning a blind eye after a game where Sid got pissed about a non-call and smashed his stick on the boards a week or so ago. I remember the shot of him swinging his stick, I just can't remember which game or what he was upset about.
 
The worst thing one can say about a referee, is that he is inconsistent. NHL officiating wreaks of inconsistency.
 
Good win last night considering the MASH unit the Pens resemble.....Klink deserved that gw goal........he leads the team in hits over the last 3-4 games. Despres was hitting everything that moved and Bortuzzzo seems to be becoming a decent player. Megna took 4 minors though and ended up on the pine for it.... Think there were 10 penalties all told and 0 pp goals. Not too concerning again given the number of new players and their short time up.

I've been liking Geno's intensity and for me to say that you know he's playing hard. Hope he continues.

Flames scored a nice little player in UDFA Gaudreu (aka Johnny Hockey) Hobey Baker winner from Boston College......2nd in rookie scoring.
 
MAF played very well last night. A solid effort against a pretty good team and w/o Sid. They really need to clean up their own PP against short-handed chances. Its going to bite them in *** in the PO if they don't. That and taking too many penalties, but other than that, they are rather solid with all the injuries. It would be nice if they could play a stretch with everyone on board.
 
Megna's been a little disappointing. I know SWB has some promising young D talent but I'm not real familiar as far as C/W prospects. Anybody have any insight?

what is a shame is most of the pens top scoring winger prospects are either injured, in college,or overseas.
KK and Sundqvist were both returned to their European teams, and Zlobin and Wilson are both hurt.
Kuhnhackl is having a bad season, though at some point you have to give him a look
Archibald was hurt... don't know where he stands right now...

Uher is having a good year but isn't a top 6 guy. hed get called up before Matia Marcantuoni or Adam Payerl

Sebastian Dea is a center, though maybe the offensive forward we need up till a better option is out there...
 
dammit! I wanted our boys to get that second point tonight! They battled hard and proud that they fought to the end. I'll take the point. Good games w/o Sid. He will be fresh for Monday.

Sid who? We should trade him for a few dozen draft picks and players. Obviously, we are fine w/o him.
Seriously, I'm amazed how well they are playing with all the scratches every night. I don't know how long they can keep it up, but the WBS crew are earning their spots. MAF has beebeen stellar.
 
Liked Rust's game. Good to see Johnson give him some top line minutes.

On an unrelated note: What's with NBC Sports' Rivalry Wednesday? Bruins & Wild tomorrow night??? How exactly are they rivals?

Are Senators-Devils or Stars-Canucks any better rivalries? Sometimes you just have to take what the schedule gives you.
 
Was anyone having trouble with root in Pittsburgh the other day... Pregame and game kept freezing for 1-2 seconds every couple minutes... It was annoying as hell.. Should have mentioned i have comcast

Must have been Comcast....my kids both had issues. Direct TV was fine.

I watch through the NHL.com app on my Xbox and it was doing that. I assumed it was the source feed because my home network is rock solid and the hi-speed internet connection didn't seem to be having any problems.
 
I have Verizon and it was annoying the Hell out of me. If you want to torture me, that's the thing to do.
 
Figging fantastic game against the Avalanche this evening. For a 1-0 win scored in overtime it sure was entertaining. They're looking a lot better through the neutral zone defensively. Comeau was pretty damn impressive.
 
These are the points that make a difference in the end. Great game where we could have just as easily walked away without that extra tally. They are digging deep when the roster is decimated and still getting the job done. Credit must be given to the Coaching Staff also as I fear we'd not have fared as well in the last couple seasons.
 
Very impressive win. Three words.....extend Comeau now! Farnham might be the new Cooke or Barnaby. Rust continues to look good as did #6.
 
Comeau was one helluva FA signing. I'd lock him up soon, too. I'm mad I missed the game last night. Sounded like it was a dandy.
 
I saw the second half of last night's game. The Pens, with very few exceptions, controlled the puck....at will. Young guys look good, FA's fitting in nicely. Geno skating like a madman. Flower solid.
Not much to dislike about this team. I like what Johnston has done.

It was. Pickard (?) must have had an entire rabbit in his pocket. The Pens had a ton of great chances and looks but he stoned them.....he was in good position all night.
