Finally making it to a game this year…

Steelers vs Giants

We pick a game every year to go to. This game was my choice.

Things to do in the city while we’re there?

Just let us know some specifics when you get here what date, what area you are staying. Can give you a lot of info from that. Perhaps some of yinz favorite type of foods.

Hey Scott, I hope you have a great time while there and enjoy the game.!!!!!

RIDE THE INCLINE is a must, Station Square.

Remember to share here your experience, both game and city.

Thanks in advance

A lot depends on where yea staying, what you are into. Food choices?

The seats should be pretty good. I've never sat that close for a game, but I can imagine it's cool being right behind the visitor's bench.

Thanks for all the info guys!

We will be staying October 26th - 29th

We are staying in Bloomfield/North Oakland area.

We eat just about everything but I’m a perogie machine.

We are simple bar food cold beer people.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and be able to catch a Pens game while we’re in town.

It would be awesome to be able to link up with some tailgating fans.

Thanks all

You have to have a primanti brother sammich. You might still be able to get a Rothlisburger hamburger at Pepe's. ( I think that's the place). Yea, ride the incline. It's pretty cool. To experience real Pittsburgh stroll down Carson street. So many little bars. Heart and soul of Pittsburgh.

Hey I found some great links but I'm not allowed to post them. Just Google "top things to do in Pgh." You will get a plethora of ideas of things to do. The zoo is a good family project if you are into that. Weather could be a problem come late Oct.

1 Get a rental car

2 Pasqualino’s Italian eatery-great pizza and great hoagies. They are top tier. For alternate hoagie place Peppi’s in the strip. Must try? The Big Wheeler.

3 Mike and Tony’ gyros- great in this category.

4 Big Rig’s BBQ- a little pricey but it is them, then everyone else. Must try? Brisket and Mac n cheese.

5. Pamela’s or Kelly O's Diner in the Strip. (For breakfast)

6. Pepperoni rolls?Bella Notte - in the strip

7. Albertsgifts @ strip district. Little distance from the main strip Steelers stores and booths but has a lot of unique Steelers and Pittsburgh sports teams merchandise. You hit the strip as well a nice walk around. Alternate Steelers store- Yinzers in the burgh- in the strip

8. Incline, Pittsburgh zoo, and or Carnegie Museum of Natural History. You can’t go wrong here for attractions. I love just to walk the waterfront by the USS Requin by the stadiums. Just a pretty area and gets that exercise in. Multi tasking!

I had a decade here figuring it out….

ride into the stadium on the Clipper is worthy. great views of Mt. Washington, Point State Park , the confluence and the stadium
as already said, do the incline - the one closer to the stadium. view is incredible.
there are a few museums in the area but I haven't been to them.
The casino is there if you dig gambling (i don't).
Drive by Steelers HQ. just so you can say you have.
Stop in and see DK.
Eat P-Bros

I didn’t mention the Clipper always seems like some tickets are hard to come by with the water tours. But yeah would go that route if available.

Two inclines there in the city. Way back in the 70’s I lived on Mount Washington and worked in US Steel bldg. I would take the Duquesne Heights Incline, thats the one by LeMont Restaurant, but I loved riding it every day. Picked up the bus at the bottom of the mountain and rode it to town. Nice memories!
The other incline is the Monongahela Incline which is located on the extreme other end of Grandview Avenue which is the main ave up there on the Mount.
World class views, multimillion dollar homes, nice restraunts .
You must eat at the LeMont and Monterey Bay. Great food, atmosphere and yes, world class view of the skyline.
Both are located on Grandview Ave. by the Duquesne Heights Incline.
All kind of stuff to do in the city! Check out the Pittsburgh sports museum by the stadium.
I don’t know when Giants are in town, but if hockey season, go see the Pens play.
Forget about the Pirates….. They’ll be done end of September. They do however have a badass ballpark. Best in the majors!

MT. Washington has that view right off the incline and some pretty good eats. My one Steelers buddy in Florida always want to go up there when he visits.

I had to go there every time I have visited as well.

If I ever make it out there again, we will have to go there, mandatorily !!!!

yikes - none of mentioned leaving time to go to the Hall of Honor and pro shop. I would actually try to do those way before kickoff, leave for lunch at any of the North Shore eat places (though will be crowded) and then walk back for kickoff. I don't know the times they are open, but is posed on their webpage.
Last time I went I stayed right there at point state park and just walked with my son to the incline and later to the gift shop/lunch and back to hotel - then walked to game. Was Ben's last home game.

Don't know if it's still a thing but they used to have a stadium tour. It was like $10. Went in both locker rooms, press box, great hall, through the Steelers tunnel and onto the field, took about 2 hours. Well worth it and offered many great photo opportunities.

If I remember correctly, the stadium tour is ONLY during the off-season. Well worth it though when they’re in the off season.

Thanks Lloyds legend for bringing back a good memory !!!!
