Melancon is giving me an ulcer. Can we let Watson close?
I'm about to start the "Bring back A.J.!!!" campaign. . . Phillies suck and he would come back.
how ironic and a cheapskate move by the FO that would be? I'd love it, though. "Sit the F Down" shirts would rise again!
I thought bringing Burnett back was a good idea a month ago, not so sure now. We sent Cumpton back to Indy and he
was pitching good, when Liriano comes back we will have to send Locke back down and he is pitching good.
This team looks better than last years.

Polanco is one of the most fluid players I've seen in a long time. He is like a smooth running gazelle. What's scary, he's still feeling his way in the Majors. Just wait. . .
Locke is the only pitcher with options. If we DFA Worley or Volquez then someone else can pick them up.
Unless he really regresses, there is no way they send Locke down, options or not. He's pitching too well.
Volquez hasn't been that great. They'd probably be willing to risk losing him.
Regarding Polanco, he'd be foolish to sign a long term contract right now. With his talent, he'd be way underpaid relative to what he will likely get in arbitration in a few years.

Yeah, but there is always the chance of injury. It's generally why guys in his spot will usually do a long term deal. You get set for life now, in exchange for putting off free agency for a year or two, and making less money overall. Guys do get hurt, and I've seen guys who looked HOF bound early, tail off badly after a few years in the league. Will he make the adjustment after the competition gets a book on him? You would think he would, but some have failed in the past.
