thank you, our resident Flyer fan, but this series is far from over with many games to be played. Nashville and Pens will play better next game. This series can go south, literally, quickly.
I think our shot total may have helped us immensely. It didn't allow Rinne to get into a groove. When the shots did come, he wasn't ready. Pekka Rinne is the sole reason the Preds got this far. If we get into his head, and we are off to a good start, we have this series won. Period.
Now resume your whining, Penguin fans .

Maybe whining is too strong of a term. i have never seen so many people unhappy about a 5-3 victory in a SC Final game.

what most are unhappy with is no shots for 37 minutes and losing a 3-0 lead. Other than that, I'm pleased with the 1-0 series lead. Going to Nashville up 2-0 would make my week!
So what's the deal with the catfish? He could have poked someone's eye out.

I'm not intimidated by Nashville at all. It took two periods of the Pens playing like **** for Nashville to catch up. Even then they couldn't pull it out.

The Pens depth gonna be too much. I will say this though. Mike Fisher is legit on faceoffs. Other than that. The Pens can outskate and out muscle these guys. Pecker even ducked Guentzel's shot

Pens got out-skated, out-muscled and out-hustled for 50 minutes...we're just lucky their Pecker was full of holes
Pens better add a TON of speed to their next line-up, and hope Pecker continues to suck.

I do agree with the speed aspect. I think some one like Kunitz scratched for Hagelin. Maybe Rowney.
Rowney adds a physical aspect. But he's also one who can create turnovers and skates well.

All I saw was they made our defense look like pylons - lost ever race to the puck - couldn't cover anybody on the perimeter. Horrific.
Finally met our match in terms of speed, the only hope left is to get a lead and play rope a dope every game. They owned us all over the ice, totally, except for 5 minutes at the end of the 1st.
One spurt, and Jake's shot, that was it.

The Penguins played the same way in game 3 against the Sens... lifeless with no energy. I think Game 1's issues for the Pens were more about the Pens being lethargic and less about the Preds being dominant.
We started slow, as usual. We held on, then went on a offensive spurt, and scored 3 goals. Then we went into energy conservation mode. Took some bad penalties, got burned on the resulting PP's. We responded by scoring two goals.

With Nashville, we will be seeing a little bit of every team we faced in the playoffs to this point: good D, speed, good fore-checking, some physicality, good goaltending and some sort of a trap. Saying that, it may take a game or two to adjust to their game, but they will and overcome. Sully can and will make the appropriate changes That's the make-up of this team. They adjust and excel. Keep putting up Ws and that will make Nashville get frustrated. Especially, Neal, I'd go after him every chance they can. He's a loose cannon and is why he is not in B&G.
Men--I respectfully wholeheartedly disagree with moving Kunitz out the line-up..
Whats he brings to the table with leadership, hustle, physical play...and now add in some of his newly discovered (with the aid of Spike's Viagra) offense....this guy is right were he needs to be..In the line-up ...somewhere...anywhere!
