2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Confidence is still in for me. Gotta win this one at home. You yinzers chase those hicks out the building come
Thursday. The Pens need a bit of inspiration. I don't blame the star guys if every time they have the puck, they're constantly getting mugged and interfered. Fisher-underwood cross checked Crosby and held him down while a play was still going. That's where the Pens need a guy with some balls to say "hey you touch Sid, I'm bashing in your face in front of your wife and fans"

The Pens look a step slow now in 4 games. Sure, they have a burst or two a game but my fear seems to be reality. They are exhausted. And, unfortunately that means they may not win another game against this team. They were lucky to win games 1 and 2 being outplayed for the most part in both - although game 2 was better. They were outplayed in the last 2 games. Lose the next game at home and they will go down in 6 at Nashville. Win at home and we get to look forward to game 7 and maybe get lucky again.

Right now, I have no confidence this team can win another game against the Preds and especially not in Nashville. I still believe we are the much more talented team but we are not getting to the pucks and our speed advantage that we were supposed to have over them looks mostly non-existent. This is a tired team. Maybe the 2 games off in between each game from here on out will help but I'm not holding my breath.

They do look exhausted. Chalk it all up to the Washington series. That was brutal. I want a back to back cup hoist and I'm all in attitude wise. But if our boys do go down. It will sting losing to the bandwagon catfish tossers.

But I will still be proud of the way they battled through so much injuries on a shortened off-season. Feel for guys like Rowney, Guentzel, Archibald who deserve to get their name on the cup.

The Pens are the skilled team. Just stringing together 10 minutes of actual pressure is not cutting it

Until they lose Thursday, I still think the Pens can and will pull it out. It will be their Game 7. Going to Nashville for Game 6 is a 25%(too generous?) chance of winning there. I just don't think it's in the cards to steal one there, but anything can happen. They have to solve Pecker. He flopping around like a fish, saving everything with a ton of support from his D. Got to finish on those opportunities and for God's sake, play smart for 60 minutes. Those brief lapses are dooming the B&G. Maybe we can't keep up with them for 60 minutes, but something has to give. Those odd-man breaks and breakways are not good.

- Phil Kessel was magic last postseason, but that magic is clearly gone. Time to move on.
- I know this may not be popular, but it's time this offseason to seriously look into trading Malkin. He's been invisible for the most part this series. To me, he's hockey's Kordell Stewart. Incredibly talented, but plays way to stupid too often. Can still get a LOT for him, time to pull the trigger.

So let's get rid of two of the guys who helped them win last year and get them to the Final again this year. At the start of the series, Malkin was the favorite for the Conn Smythe. Maybe the Steelers should trade Bell and Brown and go out and sign a top pass rusher.

The Pens had their chances to not only win last night, but win by a couple of goals. They need to bury their chances when they have them and Murray is going to have to play better than what he has. The margin for error is small when you are in the Final and everything is going Nashville's way right now.

Point is they don't need to win in catfishland. Only at home. That's all that matters. You have plenty of time to rest those legs between games. Next game is game 7. Treat it that way. Simple as that. They've come too far to fold up now. Refuse to be denied!

The crowd at PPG better be full tilt crazy. Those fish throwing country bumpkins can't show Pens fans up. Not for the game to take hold of the series. They have to get inside Rinne's head and stay there. I want to see relentless fore-checking and pressure. I believe they will get to him and pour it on.

Game 5 would be a good time for the Pens to turn down the suck.

Look, I'm saying it's time to explore trading Malkin, but only if you get a great package back in return. He's a great player, but he makes way too many mental errors for my liking. If you can't get a great package, keep him and move forward. It just seems like he doesn't mix well with Crosby for whatever reason. I know what Kessel did last year, he was awesome, but have you been watching him this postseason? He's just a guy out there. And I'm sorry, but he just rubs me the wrong way. I see your point about Malkin being a superstar, but are you really comparing Kessel to Bell and Brown? Win or lose, changes need to be made this offseason. We need to build the team around a Crosby (in his prime), and two young budding superstars in Guentzel and Murray.

The difference in last night's loss was the goaltending. We had many scoring chances against the Catfishes, but Rinne was up to the task. Murray, not so much. Maybe it is the home/away thing with Rinne. 2 losses away, 2 wins home. That being the case, we have 2 homes games, they have 1. But unless we get to Rinne, this will draw to it's disappointing conclusion.

Malkin has a no-trade clause, so him moving out of Pittsburgh is slim to virtually none. Same with MAF and Letang. They would have to waive it and approve of the trade. It seems as if we are living or dying with them. Malkin reminds me of Jagr. Great player, but I have a love/hate relationship with him. Really good half of the time, but seems lazy and disinterested the other half. Maybe I'm too hard on Geno, but he frustrates me when he has the puck. That's just me. It is what it is and if he can contribute to another Cup, I will thank him for his play and contributions.

The idea is that Penguins fans are constantly wanting to trade their best players. What package of proven talent are you going to get back in return? It wasn't that long ago that this team was on the verge of moving from Pittsburgh and now they have the talent in place to contend for the foreseeable future and we're looking to dump the players that are capable of getting the Penguins to a championship. I guess I just don't understand that logic.

LOL...heading into game 5 of the SCF...series tied... and Pens fans are discussing trading one of their top-5 (in the league) players.
Flyers have #2 overall in the draft...We will give you that and a 3rd for Malkin. Deal?

temping, but no thanks. Never trade within your division and esp to your cross state rival. It feels like the off-season. We still have a lot hockey to be played.

With this defense we're not going to win any games 1-0, scorers need to score

They definitely need the win on Thursday. They have to at least guarantee themselves the chance to win in 7

After the chant bashing Crosby has taken. I'm want to here 19,000 or so fans chant. "P-e-c-k-e-r.......P-e-c-k-e-r............. You suck !

Malkin can still bring it at times. I'd be happy to keep him around. Mental errors? Yes. Usually a result from trying to do too much. Crosby just damn near took the game over yesterday. Malkin is what he is.

Kessel --- I like the guy, and I knew coming in he wasn't gonna be asked to carry the franchise. He's another one who I'm ok with. He needs more shots though.

I'm gonna assume this will be Kunitz and Cullen's last time in a Pens sweater. Replacing Kunitz. Need his physicality, but the Pens need someone who can skate, puck handle at that spot. Cullen will be replaced by Rowney imo

As for the Final.
Settle down

As a fan we expect wins. I get the frustration with the "fans" and their catfish bs.
The series is tied 2-2.

Anything can happen in hockey. Yeah it's troubling to see the Pens struggle. But something will give

Like I said I wont get worried till Pecker comes to Pittsburgh and plays like a god in game 5.....

The Pens were so close to slipping several by him last night...We seen this before....

And the others cracked.
