2017-2018 Pittsburgh Penguins

Holtby the guy who is battle tested in the playoffs. Sure he loses in the 2nd round, but it's usually from lack of scoring that does the Caps in against the Pens. I don't throw the backup in as the starter, regardless of how hot he was down the stretch, in a smaller sample size of games. I'm not saying Grubauer isn't a good goalie, I'm saying he's not a playoff goalie. I go with my starter who knows how to get out of the first round.

Fair points one and all. That said, and perhaps it was just me, but I thought Holtby looked pretty shaky in relief on Sunday. I know it is different when you come off the bench cold in the middle of the game, but he just doesn't look good. Personally, I think Trotz HAS to start Holtby tonight in Columbus. At this point he has to do something to shake it up. I would expect others to be scratched for tonight's game as well. I think anything short of the SCF and Trotz is fired for sure. They may blow it up considering the talent they have has gotten them exactly nowhere.

The caps implode. That fan base has to feel heart broke with the promising look only to be let down

Caps choke away 2 playoff games in a row where they had a two goal lead? LMAO!

Even better, CBJ looked like garbage doing it

SOB! Hornquist is out tomorrow night with a upper body injury per Coach Sully.

Heard this on the radio today. I think I stopped swearing 10 miles later. All the damn pundits compared ZAR to Hornqvist, I guess we'll find out. The positive is this should put Kessel back with Malkin and that combo is deadly.

Dude's been taking a beating after the whistle. Not shocked.
Gonna miss his fire for tonight's game, but he's been penalty prone too.

Maybe it'll serve as a diamond in the rough for tonight.
ZAR and Oleksiak should keep us afloat tonight.

Simone will take Horny's spot. Hopefully, the young fire will be ignited and he can bring some energy.

Freakin' Craps won in 2nd OT. The Jackets had them on the ropes and couldn't score in OT.

I don't know if Vegas is that good or LA just didn't have anything. I think it's a little of both. I dig Vegas' energy and aggressive play, but their scoring depth may be lacking when they meet SJ and/or Nashville. We'll see. Gonna be fun to watch. Making history.

How many freaking times did the Jackets hit the post last night? I counted three before I went to bed, and that was early in the 3rd. Saw the highlights where they hit it a time or two in the OT periods. They beat Holtby a bunch, just didn't finish.

Yeah Sarge...

Columbus with some horrible puck luck...

The Blue jackets look like they will be around for another round or two to me...

Caps made the right move, albeit late, to go with Holtby. They wouldn't have won the game otherwise.

I aint ascared of either the Caps or cheap suits, let them go OT in every game! Lol, wear them down

Keep pushing the pace on this philly punk *****.
Good start. Need more goals with our movement, gotta put philly in a hole

Flyers are on the verge of imploding.
Do not take any stupid retaliation penalties.

Take advantage in the 2nd. Pens got this

Got to see Kessel's goal when I turned on the TV. Thought it was a 730 start and we were at a science fair for the daughter. Fun times!

Murray had a great save on the shorthanded breakaway!

the fat lady is warming up. Actually, she has been crooning since the beginning of the third. Philly is done. The golf clubs are cleaned and shined for Saturday.

Still have to win 4 games to advance. Pens know this, and I expect their best in Pit this Friday!

Another shutout what's that 10-1 in two games in very hostile territory? Good stuff. One more win then 12 more to go!

I will say a couple things......the Pens played a fabulous game, Sid, Schulz, Dumo and a couple others. Flyers had no chance. That said.......if I was a Flyers fan or associated with that franchise in any manner, I would be embarrassed. Aside from a two minute flurry in the first, they laid down. No effort, sloppy, lazy and uninspired. I am stunned it was only 5-0.

All my Philly friends have already conceded defeat. Just watched the post game and Jonesy even denounced his team's ability to mount a comeback let alone another win.

Pens dominated from the get go.
Series looks done. Pens need to come out rockin for the home crowd on friday.

Philly's go to was to try and goon it up. The Pens are ignoring it and playing the game

Wow that was some seriously uninspiring play tonight at times from the Flyers. I think Couturier's injury was the nail in the coffin.

Hopefully close it out Friday night and avoid any cheap shot injuries. That worries me more than anything now.
