2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Here comes frustrated Geno acting like an *** after losing.

Mental midget. They know he's getting rattled easy. Well this could be done in 4 games. That will produce some big changes in the offseason.

Murray had a hell of a game. Too bad they are getting away with mugging our guys. Not the only reason they are down 2-0, but would be great if there was a somewhat level playing field officiating wise.

Well that was predictable, no sparkplugs left on the bottom lines and Pens top cant play a mugging defensive team. When the stars are fighting they lose

Man, that’s the playoffs. The rule book is called unevenly all season. In the playoffs, who the hell knows what they will call or if they will call anything. It sucks, but that is how it has always been. Pens lost because beyond the top two lines, they can’t score and the whole team is soft.

At least we're not the favorites this like the fawned over Bolts who are really getting their ***** whupped

The good news is that you're never out of it until you lose at home. Maybe they'll sack up and do something in Game 3. They started the game well, but everything went to hell after the first penalty.

The team won on speed and scrappy 3rd and 4th line players, they all gone. It is what it is, average speed, very soft,

I don't think anyone on this board is really surprised at this point. I mentioned I didn't like this match up. Trotz after being owned by the Pens has found a recipe for success. The Islanders are not a better team but are using their resources better. The one positive is Murray has played strong. I wish he had played like this earlier in the season.

I think Trotz built last year's Caps and this year's Isles team specifically to neutralize the Pens in the playoffs. Would be interesting to see what style is effective against it during the playoffs when the rules and physicality changes.

That said, it's not like they haven't had their opportunities but can't bury the puck usually in gaping holes up high. Just wonder if by the time they battle their way into a good shooting position, they are out of gas or are just flustered to the point they just shoot it on goal and hope for the best.

Who knows certainly not me. Unless it's raining tomorrow I'll probably be spreading mulch and will just listen to the game sparing you good folks of my inane chatter. :)

Not one of us is surprised at this. The focus of this team is odd. Sid doesn't shoot, Phil and Geno are turn over machines, We have little besides those guys from Florida, and one is hurt. Not sure where Sully was trying to take this team.

I predict Sully is gone this off season. Maybe Phil, too.

I'm probably totally wrong but Sid seems disconnected again and we've seen that in the past playoff games. I recall he'd work his way out of it and some series he looked like he didn't really care. Like last night when he was sitting in the box with Gud, he just sat there with a distant look in his eye. If he was fully engaged in the game I'd expect him to be telling Gud to get refocused, etc. Who knows... Maybe he's just to the point in his career he can't support the team on his back in the playoffs and he knows the off season is just a couple days away. Whatever it is, it's disappointing but not unexpected, heck they barely made it into the playoffs as it was.

The caps should be the favorite. They are beating the Canes again. 2-1 in the 1st. They can get open shots almost at will and they can be physical because that's how they score.

TB looks like a ******* train wreck.

I see where it's 2-2 now after 2 periods. Just got in from working in the yard so not sure how they managed to tie it up.

Hope the Pens find a way but odds are the Caps and Isles will match up at some point. Would be an interesting and painful series but I also think the Caps would win that series

This is what I've been suspecting since last season

If Crosby is the leader than take control. Last night was bad, no flow in the Pens game at all. wild passes , allowed the Islanders easy access across the blue line all night. Murry was the only bright spot in the game. We don't hit any one and we get man handled way to easy.

The Pens had 36 hits last night. The Isles only had 5 more. The Pens had 6 penalties because they were too aggressive. They almost gave up another goal because one of the Pens wanted a highlight hit and he missed the guy and gave up a break away. Luckily Murray saved him.

The Pens don't have the horses and Sully doesn't like physical players. Why get rid of Cole? Why get rid of Reeves? Cole gave us Brassard who was ******* horrible here. Then they trade Oleksiak five minutes after he fights Wilson.

Point is that it's obvious Sully doesn't like physical players or players who stir things up. He likes speed. Which is fine. But you can't change in the playoffs and start hitting people. It doesn't work.

Well today is pretty much the season. Going down 3-0 will be a tall task to overcome considering what we've seen thus far. I'm still waiting to see them play like it really means something. I just don't see the focus on the little things. If you can't do the little things right then forget about the big things.

Let's Go Pens!

the Pens have to keep their heads in the game and not get frustrated. The Isles will play aggressor again to get under their skin and Geno needs to keep his cool. Score often and their focus will change. Have to light the lamp today and use the crowd's energy.

6 minutes in and Letang has already give the puck away for a 2 on 1. Luckily Murray saved it.

Murray gives up a bad angle shot. Now tied 1-1. More bad defense.

More bad defense and Schultz gives up a 2-1 and they score. 2-1 now Isles.

They'll even be more rested after this year. I didn't think they'd get past the Isles but it looks like a sweep is coming.

This team *sigh*

The bad habits that plagued them all season, they still continue to do

What a effing joke. The Isle's are just toying with them. They are so much better defensively it isn't even close. Letang half assing it. Crosby gets raped, turns over the puck and they are gone the other way for a goal. Almost wish they had not made the playoffs vs setting here watching this **** show.
