JPJ an excellent C. Beebe is a superb OG prospect. He is a 1st round talent and I picked him in about 10 mocks last year. Went on the site rankings most of the rest, but remember Jackson from last year as well.

I see CB filled via fa maybe White, I doubt they go all in Queen and I don't think Jerome Baker is worth the numbers floating around.
this draft would fix all holes

95 CB King Penn State
118 WR Burton Bama

The more I glue into King the more I think JPJ made him look better than he was.

That is one prospect I pass on. There should be more upside options available if the desire is to get one say round 4 over early...

Traded back and grabbed 3 guys who are just about instant starters or who will get significant playing time. Burton is a fast WR and can play the slot. Khyree is in the big mold CB's we have been drafting recently. I think he has significant potential. Grabbed the local kid Goncalves who will probably end up on the PS but you never know. And, last, I snagged Milton. I know some don't think he will make it in the NFL as he has no touch on his passes. But, he does have a cannon for an arm. I want to give the kid a shot since we have nothing on the QB front in a year or two as it seems the Steelers are giving up on KP and are only bringing Russell in for a year (maybe a couple years more if he plays well and the Steelers win a playoff game).

So this draft is a smashing success based on the first two picks, plus the bonus of a very good route-runner in the mold of DJ taken in the 3rd:

Seriously, Latham and Frazier?!? Could stop right there and declare victory,.

Smith is a project but massive DT with skills, and the two DB's are elite physically.

My observations on Van Pran ... get every Georgia game here. Watched him vs. Ga Tech and Florida. He is a really good pass blocker, with good positioning and can take on large NT's in pass rush, but he is not as good at run blocking. He tends to slide off the defender too much, and is not very good blocking on the 2nd level.

rumor has it that neither Tomlin nor Khan were at JPJ's pro day.
doesnt bode well for taking a center in the first. adjust mocks accordingly.

Roman would be a steal in the 3rd. Love the first 3 picks for sure.

The Steelers also don't draft guys from the west coast anymore. Maybe Khan will change how the Steelers approach the draft prep.

I simply don't grasp why that is; I just don't get it. Laziness?

Up to date draft. QB of the future along with a much needed top 3 C in this draft. A speedy WR over six feet. Then players to help at areas of need. It sucks drafting QB and WR in our position or any for that matter, as they don't usually excel in their first year. But, they are currently our top needs along with C. I could have waited on QB but Nix was there and has alot going for himself.

Way short on covering DL weaknesses.

Doesn't sound like a fit in Smith's system, run-1st. Being a poor run blocker not gonna cut it.
