Orlando gunman Omar Mateen spoke in Arabic to a 911 dispatcher, identified himself as an Islamic soldier and demanded to a crisis negotiator that the U.S. "stop bombing Syria and Iraq," according to transcripts released by the FBI on Monday.

The first call came more than a half hour after shots rang out, when Mateen told a 911 operator, "Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God," he told the dispatcher, referring to God in Arabic.

The victim’s grandmother found the victim and then called the girl’s mother, who called the police. If I understand you, you are saying that the United States government actually murdered 49 people in a Florida nightclub, and injured another 53 (some very seriously), in a cold-blooded, horrendous attack on unarmed civilians??

Look, I get that our government does stupid things all the time, and that a lot of government employees are incompetent boobs. I have personally seen evidence of that fact.

But I would refuse to live in a nation where the government is so vile and mercurial that it would murder dozens - no, according to you, thousands - of its own citizens. I do not believe that to be true for at least 3 reasons:

• Occam's Razor. Your theory is that dozens of Federal and/or state government officials are in on the murder, and think it hunky-dory, while they manage to keep it quiet. Mine is, "crazy guy." Which involves vastly fewer moving parts to support? When two explanations compete, select the one with fewer variables.
• The government cannot keep anything quiet. Hydrogen bomb? Out. Kennedy slept around? Out. Bill got blow jobs in the White House? Out. Keep rampant homicide of innocent civilians quiet? Not going to happen. Too many people would know, and at least one would blow the whistle.
• Your theory requires that a significant number of police and/or military personnel go along with the killing spree. You have to know family, friends and neighbors who are members of the police or military ... do you think those individuals would go along with mass-murder??? And you don't get to say, "Well, yeah, maybe not them, but other unnamed guy would." Bullshit.
