Bell - No Structural Damage

I knew it was either him or Franco. Lol good job Lunar

Bags can't respond.

As in "Can't" respond because:

If so, gotta say you Mods have been playing an uptempo offense lately. Obviously above the line.

I don't understand why Johnson or Harris wasn't in if they needed a blocker.

The only thing I can offer that would perhaps explain the fact that Dri Archer - all 165 lbs. of him - was asked to "block" a 250 lb. blitzing LB'er is that perhaps Ben checked out of the play?

Which is another problem with losing a great back like Bell - the checkdowns are affected, and not in a good way.

Last night listening to the post game sports talk I heard a name brought up by one host that I never thought I'd ever hear mentioned to be a candidate for the Steelers RB. A former Baltimore player too. I wonder if it's crossing the teams mind at all if Bell can't go for the week.

I don't think that Archer's failed block was a factor at all on that int.

1. it was on Ben's blind side and he never looked that way, so he had no way of knowing the rusher was coming
Wrong. He is an NFL QB and knew the blitz was coming from that side and knew it was a 1-on-1 with Archer. Knowing Archer is 180lbs and giving up 50lbs to a LB Ben rushed his pass thus INT.
2. Ben made a quick decision and threw the ball into double coverage on his own.

Archer's missed block would have been the factor if Ben knew the pass rusher was there. He did not. Not saying Archer is capable at blocking or that he should be relied upon to do so, just that in that instance, the INT is hung solely on Ben's broad shoulders.
Ben forced the ball because he rushed his throw plain and simple. Yes, he shouldn't have thrown it but the fact remains if Bell and not Archer is blocking Ben has another second to read his progressions.

If he knows the rush is not going to be stopped and should have been able to, clearly, see AB wasn't open, why wouldn't he have thrown it away? You can be rushed and still not throw into double coverage.

I'm not sure it was an entirely bad throw as opposed to Roethlisberger and Brown weren't on the same page. Brown kept going and Ben looked like he expected him to come back.

Lets be honest, we weren't running on the Ravens anyhow and frankly we shouldn't even try much more than to keep them honest. last game.... the one we won with 43 points... bell had 10 carries for 20 yards. You know how our pass D has blown monkeyballs this season, well the yardage difference between us and the ravens was a paltry 70 yards.

Yes it sucks, but we can play this one minus Bell and win

Archer may have his role with the offense. It is not to be the replacement for Bell, there is just too much in the way of difference between the two for that to ever be effective. If Bell is not ready to play something other than Archer will need to be done. Hopefully they have time to figure out a contingency plan that will work better than Archer needing to learn how to block.

I thought that too and there's some truth to it...but there were also these points, all third downs and all scoring drives:

3rd and 5 RAV 5 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete short left to Le'Veon Bell for 5 yards, touchdown
3rd and 6 PIT 41 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete short left to Le'Veon Bell for 12 yards
3rd and 5 PIT 35 Ben Roethlisberger pass complete short middle to Le'Veon Bell for 10 yards (tackle by C.J. Mosley)

Im not saying he is pointless, but we converted a lot more third downs that game too. its not like we lack weapons on O... 5 wide if we have to.....

Just saw Lev Bell at #Steelers facility. Can barely walk

I would expect that today. Ice, anti inflammatory drugs, the tub etc. and he should begin to get better. I would expect big improvements every day this week. Even so he may not be ready to play by Saturday and I would rather risk a loss of a game than the loss of a player by trying to get him on the field too soon.

I'll be shocked if he plays on Saturday. The one thing they don't want to do is to cause him future harm. And the Rats are cheap shot artists.

One more point... people seem confused between dirty and legal... that was, by rule, a legal attempt to tackle, but it was also a very dirty hit... his intent was to take out his knees. he has done this before and I hope Karma gets him in the end... that is to say I hope Indy signs a 350 lb player named Karma to bend is knees the wrong way and laugh.

You people crack me up with your "Sit Bell for the Broncos" nonsense... like a victory is assured or something. Harris sucks. His first name ain't Franco, in case you got confused.
I also seem to recall the Ravens kicking the **** out of us this year. If Bell is less than 100% (which he will be), it's going to be one and done for Tomlin and Co., I suspect.

Wow! You're amazing! I thought he looked decent last night in spot duty with zero gameplanning to use him. I'm glad you're here to enlighten us all as to his true skill level.

Where the **** do these jokers come from. AFJ- A ******* Joke, at least you got the initials right.

We'll see how Harris does if we need him, of course I'm hoping we don't, since I think that Bell kid is doing ok too, and I do think he's BETTER than Harris, but I don't think that means Harris sucks. ****, Bell is better than just about every back starting in the NFL right now.

Joe

These reporter doctors are going to be really annoying this week.

Yea this is going to get old quick. It's less than 24 hours and it's going to be swollen and hurt some. Real test will be tomorrow how he responds to treatment.

Not trolling at all. I'm completely serious.

3 posts and we can already tell you're a ratbird troll. "You guys", "ravens trashed us once this season" but fail to remember the most recent 6TDs vs that piss poor pass "defense".

Nice knowing ya Jump Ball Joe. Enjoy the dismantling of the secondary yet again this Sat night...

Harris tweeted late last night, after one am that Bell texted him and told him he's fine.
we'll see, the damn **** birds have struggled the past two weeks vs QB's that weren't even in the league two weeks ago. We struggled to run vs Baltimore with Bell, I think the very least archer can catch out of the backfield. I'm more worried about the Ravens running at Worilds and Gilbert on Dumervill

Don't we have Ladarius Perkins on the PS. I would cut someone (Justin Brown) and sign Perkins to the active Roster. Harris can start, Perkins and tiny can back him up.

I think its time to turn to the FB and a extra WR or TE

I could live without the production from Bell in the run game, and maybe one of those guys could make a big play. But if you are talking blocking wise, C'mon. The one interception was directly related to Archer getting blown up trying to block the outside backer. You have to have confidence as a qB that you can step into the throw. How the hell is Ben supposed to do that with the 170 lb kid in the way of a 250 LB.

Ben was "being Ben" on that INT. He tried to force the ball in between two already turned around defenders. Yes, the pressure didn't help; but, that INT was 90% on Ben...

Just spread those douches out, 3WRs, TE, RB. Wheaton, Bryant, Brown, Miller, and line Will Johnson up at RB, he can block and catch, and is a tough runner.
