Blount released..

ESPN's Scott Brown reports the Steelers have "no interest" in waived RB Ben Tate.

Sounds like more of the same. Blunt v.2.0. Pass.

I liked Blount's running ability, goodbye Chong we hardly knew yee.............

Might be a blessing in disguise. Archer has looked his best when just taking a handoff. Get the kid some confidence and maybe other factors of his game takes off too

This.

You cant expect explosive plays from someone if they only get one or two targets/touches a game.

Now that there's a resolution to 'Blount bails on the team', and 'Players want Blount released' - you think these 3 threads should be merged?

The other thing, with a bye week coming up they have more time to get someone new or practice James Harrison more on offense, so cutting Blunt at this juncture is not as critical as it otherwise might be, if you will, obviously, and the rest is popcorn and elevator music.

Are you serious or have you had too much NyQuill?

As far as talent goes, it is tough to lose a guy like Blount. He was one of the best backups on the team, but it is the right move if his attitude has a poor influence over teammates. What a waste of football talent!

0% of his former teammates are sticking up for him.

Eh, backups who ***** about carries when the guy ahead of him is worlds better need to be unemployed. **** that punk, bring on whoever for their four or five touches a game.

I was excited to see him come here, and I'm even more excited to see him leave. Never have I seen a WORSE change of pace than when we put him in for Bell, for every decent run ha had, he had another where he got very little. Bell is the real deal, would have been great to have Blount along side him to get some carries, but if that prima donna ***** can't fill that role, good riddance.

You could tell something was going on after the game when they showed Tomlin trying to get some emotion in the locker room. The players had nothing to do with it. I really thought he was a good pick up but Blount hadn't shown much except at the Panthers game. We need some getty up and go, maybe this is a message sent by Tomlin, who knows.

You summed up my thoughts to a T.

this thread is getting boring. We need a few more on Blount.

no, any good board would already had a bio up of Josh Harris, since I had no idea who the **** he was

After going undrafted, Steelers running back practice squad Josh Harris sounded off on his coaching staff, accusing them of spreading false accusations through NFL coaches and scouts. With a chance for activation in wake of the release of LeGarrette Blount, we look back on this story now...

He didn't mince words, that's for sure.

Even after NFL.com draft analyst saw ex-Wake Forest running back Josh Harris was a 4th to 6th round pick, Harris went undrafted in May, something clearly viewed by him as a surprise.

In a diatribe posted to Twitter not long after the draft ended, Harris said several teams had interest in him as a potential draft pick or an undrafted free agent, but none called him because his coaches told scouts and personnel Harris had a bad work ethic and wasn't a good teammate.

It doesn't speak much to abating the idea of being a good teammate that he took to Twitter to blast his former coaches, but at the same time, sometimes all a man needs is a reason.

Harris has reason and motive to make this team, and may even have the opportunity. The Steelers will have Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount on the roster, with rookie Dri Archer possibly getting a few carries here and there. It isn't impossible to think another young back could steal a late spot on the roster with an impressive camp.

Later, Harris would be contacted by Wake Forest offensive coordinator Steed Lobotzke, who told him via text he told NFL teams he vouched for his character. Lobotzke is now the offensive coordinator at Winston Salem State.

Perhaps it wasn't Lobotzke, but Harris claims again scouts told him he was "badmouthed" by Wake Forest coaches, likely being a reason he wasn't selected. Harris tried out with the Cowboys at their rookie minicamp, but an injury during that likely ended hopes of signing there.

If Harris wants to back up the strong words he posted after the draft, now's his chance.

because he's a weeping vagina

The Denver Post reports the Broncos have no interest in free agent RBs LeGarrette Blount and Ben Tate.

A team source tells the Denver Post there simply isn’t enough time left in the season for a back to "come in and learn the team’s offensive system." The Broncos are content going forward with Juwan Thompson and Kapri Bibbs behind C.J. Anderson as they wait for Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball to get healthy

Go Broncos!

Peyton and CJ are taking me to the playoffs..amen

Maybe but if he was all that he wouldn't have landed on the PS after he did get to camp either.

I don't know about that, if Blount wasn't such a dumbass, he def has talent, and it's not like Bell was going to sit, so he was behind two seemingly high quality backs. One of them, sadly, has **** for brains.

Well and it's tough to beat out Dri Archer too. Errrr......

Keeping him was to big risk vs the reward. Since this has been developing for more than a month, I'd guess someone all ready had the "talk" to him about cooling it. We need a back up as ARCHER and his 15,000 page thread, just won't cut it. I'm hoping we don't find out, but if so, I do hope Harris is up to it. I do think some here have Blount a little over rated on ability. His experience is a plus, over the rookie, but blount was a one move trick. Hope fully the rookie can slice just a little,

Salute the nation

There's got to be more to them cutting Blount. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that he got busted for smoking again.
