Blount released..

When a player doesn't respect the head coach problems arise. Bell and Blount were busted for getting high while driving to a team plane and no repercussions ensued so to expect a shady character like Blount to toe the line is pure fantasy. He kept pushing and pushing and finally the Steelers manned up and threw out the trash. Blount behaved last year with a coach he respected but he reverted back to form this year under a soft player's coach.

Great move by Tomlin. Don't know if it was overdue or whatever, but great move.

The thing about the Steelers is they are a first rate organization and they do things the right way. With that said for some reason they signed this guy who came here with a shaky past, which there alone was not the Steeler way. Then not long being here he has the pot issue, yes Bell was with him but my point is Blount was involved. Now this and as a fan I am happy as hell they said see ya, players like this are not usually "steeler players" and I am glad they didn't just sweep it under the rug.
Has anyone heard what Bell has said about this, they were pretty tight and I was just wondering what his thoughts were. I know just about everyone else on the team had nothing good to say.

the steeler way has been to take many questionable guys in recent years, So that's all bs about the steeler way. We've had as many or more problems as any team in the league

Stop it.

Blount behaved last year because he wasn't sitting behind a rising stud.

This year he truly became a 'backup' rather than a RB 1B- and he couldnt deal with it.

VERY true!!!!! Risk vs reward, glad he is gone.

Salute the nation

We are an injury away from FIVE WIDE *******!!! not good... not good...

I liked the Blount signing, the guy is a bruiser and we needed that. Unfortunately his selfish attitude sent all to the garbage, but he had the talent to be our backup.
I hope the kid from the P.S. can handle 6-10 carries per game

totally agree. i liked Blount on the field, but his drama and baggage off it...just hoped he'd matured. apparently he hadn't.

He did really well last season for the Pats towards the end. Yet they did not re-sign him. Had to be a similar reason. He may not realize it now, but he just killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

How bad is it when a gangster like Pouncey says we're better off without you and good riddance? Maurkice Effin' Pouncey says don't let the door hit you in the ***.

How to piss away a 7 million dollar contract starring Bonehead Blount. I'd go stand on the sideline for 7 million cheer my *** off and never complain about my role.

OK we know Blount did something or several things and then he walked off the field, THAT IS ALL WE KNOW. People are saying he was unhappy being a back-up or selfish, etc. like its a fact. Do we know that is what led up to Monday nights incident, or are you speculating?

There is the perfect replacement already out there. We just have to wait for him to be reinstated. I'm talking about Ray Rice.

I expect venom for this opinion, but his running style matches what Bell can do, plus he's a threat to catch out of the backfield. Additionally, in a pinch, Rice could start in case Bell was injured, and we wouldn't have to change our offense.

As much as you may hate the guy for domestic abuse, and there is no way I'd defend him for what he did, but you can be damn sure it wouldn't happen again if he gets a second chance.

I'm not sure what the difference is between his offense and Pouncy's?

FAK Rice. Next will be calls for Peterson if the NFL re-instates him. FAK him too that prick belongs in prison so the bad boys there that were abused like Peterson did to is own son can show their gratitude.

I think you are confusing AP for a child molestor.

But something tells me that a man that throws up 225lbs 20+, and runs a 4.3, wouldn't exactly be a push over.

Are you making **** up ? Tell me, when have the Steelers had a problem with a player and NOT addressed it under Mr "Soft Coach" Tomlin ? I seem to recall in recent history the jettison of players like Santonio (via trade--he wouldve been cut had we not gotten an offer for him), Chris Rainey and Cedrick Wilson.

You guys kill me with your theories and bold assumptions with no basis in facts whatsoever. **** is ridiculously comical.

How do you know Blount didnt smoke weed while employed with the Patriots ? Whats your source ? How do you know current Patriots players arent smokin weed ? What we DO know about the Patriots is they had a gangbanger and a murder on their roster for years.

Does it really matter? Simply walking off the field on your teammates tells me all I need to know about his character and him being unhappy.

Lets be real here. Even if Peterson went to the penitentiary, nobody in there is gonna beat his ***. If anything he'll have a following of adoring "fans" who protect him. Unless someone's trying to get him with a surprise shank, he would make quick work of just about any fool who "got too familiar"

I'm not saying he shouldn't have been released.
Reporting speculation as a statement of fact matters. We don't know what happened before Monday night but people are posting as if they do.
