Brady retiring

Can you explain why the Pats lost a 1st round pick and their coach was fined 500 for "spygate" dont need a citation just a simple explanation will do
Probably for the same reason that Ben was suspended for 6 games (reduced to 4) when there was no evidence of him raping those girls?

Exactly. The Pats are legit champs like OJ is innocent.
And that is our perspective.

But from another fan’s perspective the wins are legitimate. Since they are in the official stat book they are legitimate.

No team fines, no draft picks taken away for what Ben didn't do. No tapes destroyed for what Ben didn't do. Yeah I can see how they are alike.🙄🤣

Today’s sideline tech begs to differ. Wifi, wireless devices, phones, tablets are a powerful tool
Without the beautiful mind to go with it, just not on the same level. You will see their outcomes much different now.

All I see is team A vs team B.
One team wins, one team loses.

If it’s fixed. It’s fixed. At that point why watch?

So Pop is back.

Ps trolls suck.

I am sorry that didnt answer my question.
Or, more accurately it did and you just didn't like the answer since it didn't give credence to this made-up narrative that you're trying to push.

I am sorry I dont think Ben has anything to do with the Pats losing draft picks and being fined. Can you show otherwise?

My original question was why did the Pats lose a 1st round draft pick and the coach was fined $500k. could you answer please?

The misconception appears to be that you and others feel that Goodell / NFL imposing sanctions is proof of one's guilt. It isn't. That's why I find these type of questions so confusing.

your misconception is you think we give a **** about a troll's opinion

I gave you the most honest answer that I could being as though I'm not Roger Goodell. He was willing to suspend Ben for 6 games (reduced to 4) for the 2 accusations of rape. He was willing to fine the Pats and have them forfeit a draft pick for being accused of violating a league protocol.

In either case, Goodell didn't require evidence which proved guilt.

Ben was suspended for 6 games (reduced to 4) and there was no evidence of what he was accused of. I guess I'm trying to understand what your point is.

Ben was suspended for violating the commissioner’s Player Conduct Policy. A broad sweeping policy administered solely by Goodell that was removed at the next CBA because it allowed no oversight to Goodell. Completely different from a player violating league rules. Note, Ben wasn‘t fined. Brady was and Kraft’s franchise spotted a draft pick.

I might add, you never answered my question. Do you agree they cheated, or did the NFL commit conspiracy by penalizing the owner, Head Coach and Franchise? I haven’t degraded you or intimated abusive or foul names to you, so please answer.

Actually, everything you posted is extremely disputable. With that said, most of the opinions in this thread seem more about opting for make believe fantasy in an attempt to preserve certain individual's bruised egos more than it does an actual quest for the truth.
"The reason I destroyed the tapes is they were totally consistent with what the team told me," Goodell said during his State of the NFL speech.

Ridiculous to use that as a point of conjecture. The League almost lost their Anti-Trust exemption for just that act, which goes against the even simplest of investigative protocols by any business, corporation or ruling body. Arlen Spector even asked Goodell, why destroy the tapes or evidence? When Goodell replied so as to not provide any further disadvantage to the clubs, Spector then stated why would there be any further disadvantages, you are the Commissioner? Pointing out that the tapes were destroyed so as to prevent the public uncovering the full scope of circumvention by Kraft’s franchise and specifically his Head Coach. That would have made Congress investigate with much more oversight of the infractions retroactive to 2001 that the commissioner included in his investigation (in which he covered up for his BFF).

I'm not a troll and I also enjoy myself outside of this forum too. I guess I'm trying to understand how posting factual information that doesn't include personal bias, name-calling, and the willingness to promote libel on a public forum equates to me wanting to troll and rile others up? That train of thought just seems off to me ..

As stated, I haven’t inflected a personal bias, called you names or promote anything that’s the public domain.

The NFL reviewing cases and issuing sanctions is NOT proof of guilt.
Wrong. As they are exempt from Anti-Trust laws, they are independent in reviewing actions that violates the NFL charter and bylaws agreed to by ALL owners. If any player, coach, team administrator breach any bylaw or “Tarnish the Shield” the League has total oversight. Penalties reflects a violation, or in your term GUILT. Only if there is a criminal event, does a investigation incorporate outside League involvement.

You obviously get you jollies off trolling other teams boards, so you are probably the formally recognized Pop, Bob or TB12. That’s fine, you obviously have different methods of soothing your infantile ego.

You are clearly not a Steeler fan. every Steeler fan knows that Ben was not suspended for " accusations of rape" he was suspended for breaking the NFL Player Conduct Policy. He was basically suspended for bring bad attention to the NFL.

now I ask you again. why did the Pats lose a 1st round draft pick and the coach fined $500k for Spygate. In your answer please do not used the word accused or alleged. as if they were only accused, they would have fought losing a 1st round draft pick. instead they accepted and moved on to the next scandel

Unfortunately, I do get it.

No, you don't, as detailed below.

Yep - Belichick is a great coach

Based on cheating and Tommy Boy, who somehow got better with age.

Yep - Cowher was a great coach who had multiple mediocre QBs

Fact. Proof that even a dumb, slow cow sometimes finds an acorn.

Yep - there is still no proof that Belichick had to cheat to be great

Yep - People who take extremely good care of themselves can maintain better health and fitness later in life. The fact that this can happen doesn't prove conspiracies.

Sure. Yeah, you bet. I mean the list of athletes who improved after age 35 is extensive - Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmiero, and Tommy Boy.

Wait ...

Whether I agree or disagree is irrelevant. The reality is, true guilt was never proven, nor does it have to be for sanctions to be imposed. Whether I agree or disagree doesn't change this, so I'm not sure of the relevance. Generally speaking, I think guilt should be proven prior to discipline being awarded. That was not the case in this instance, regardless of how much you may wish that it were.

Can you give us your best guess as to why the Pats didnt dispute the loss of a 1st round draft pick?

It seems odd that you would accuse me of applying conjecture when the entire premise of Brady / Belichick / Pats guilt is based solely on conjecture.

Goodell handed down sanctions .. Biased fan's take: that means they were guilty of cheating.
They were caught filming signals. Biased fan's take: this is proof of conspiracy, not a misunderstanding of what was allowed.
Goodell destroyed the tapes: Biased fan's take: this proves that he was boys with Kraft.
The Pats had the Steelers number for 20 years: Biased fan's take: yeah because they are cheaters.
